Gem, honey, we can’t stay young forever. But far as aging goes, seems to me Brad is like fine wine, so much better with age, and better in the places that matter–head and heart (not that he’s falling apart anywhere else–just take a look at Angie’s smile in any photo of the two of them together).

God, some people are simple-minded. Why would he gopm in front of a horde of press and pick his nose and his ear? OBVIOUSLY BRAD IS KIDDING AROUND!!!! HIs his modus operandi with the press. He would not be picking nose and ear at the same time so obviously. If he wanted to pick his body he would have done it surreptiously. Duh!!

Well I can understand what you are saying but I personally don’t necessarily bind hotness and sexiness with someone’s physical appearance. If he was only that I wouldn’t be attracted by him. Although he was and still is extremely good looking there is so much more in him that I find sexy. His voice, his laugh, his humbleness, his humor, his attitude, his acting, they way he is with his kids and the fact that he has depth as a character. He was always trying to not cage him self in his “pretty boy” image although it was very difficult. And now that he is aging he is more capable to be perceived as an actor and personality and not just as a hunk and I like that a lot.

And I think he ages really gracefully. His body is still great and his face still has a boy-ish vibe with much more maturity on it. I was always his fan but I like him better now. He finally found his place.

Pitt on making peace with celebrity

He just picked up the best actor award in Venice for playing grizzled outlaw Jesse James in the upcoming drama The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

So Brad Pitt fielded congratulations at Saturday’s packed and overheated press conference, where he discussed living life in the spotlight and how our current obsession with celebrity was eerily similar to what Jesse James faced. “Getting into the story, I was surprised to see how much a tabloid quotient the media was alive and well at the time. Still operated by sensationalism,” he said.

The film was shot in Canada but takes place in Missouri, where Pitt is from, and that holds a special place in his heart. “A lot of my family is still in Missouri so when I do get time – and I do, because I’ve got to take the grandkids back or my folks would kill me – it’s mainly spending time with the family. But it’s a really gentle sweet place to live,” he said.

And he’s made peace, in some ways, with being perhaps the most hunted actor on the planet – when the cameras stay away from his four kids. “As far as fame – look, I know the deal. I understand the tradeoffs. There are also great perks to what we do,” he said. “We get to travel and see the world. And we manage it. The only time it becomes unmanageable is when it’s a full frontal assault on the kids. Unfortunately, there is no line concerning family these days. In this day and age, it’s the only thing that really bothers me.”

Pitt, clad in a newsboy cap, took time to praise the performance of Casey Affleck, drawing critical raves at Robert Ford. He kiddingly pretended to pick his nose and made funny faces for the endlessly snapping cameras. But, he said, when it came to his life, “funny enough, the microscope is really not on us. A lot of has nothing to do with my actual life. In some ways you say, well you made this deal. On the other hand, you really don’t know what you’re getting into.”—Donna Freydkin
