Brad Pitt Heads to Toronto Film Festival
Dressed in his fave newsboy hat and aviator shades earlier this weekend, Brad Pitt walks the streets of Yorkville, one of the more affluent neighborhoods of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Mr. Pitt is expected to drop by the Toronto International Film Festival to promote his latest role as America’s most notorious outlaw in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

But this is going to be his year like sharon said ..hey he already got an award for AOJJ and the movie hasn’t even been released yet.. that tells you something

((((((NEW THREAD))))))
It’ll be interesting to see if Brad’s win at Venice would be as widely reported as Brad being booed at Venice. Doubtful, since the US media is on a bizarre agenda right now.
Again, congrats, again, to Brad on the win.

Oh boy were they pissed. The responses were funny as hell. Both (some) fans (not all) and “others” were acting (for lack of a better word) stupid about the articles.
I agree with you about Brad. Brad is, has always been and will always be a gentleman.

Brad Pitt scores a hit, award with Jesse James
Fresh off a Best Actor award from the Venice Film Festival, Brad Pitt talks to the Post’s Bob Thompson about his new film The Assassination of Jesse James by The Coward Robert Ford and the pitter patter of little feet:
After the Venice Film Festival, Brad Pitt and his Angelina Jolie family entourage found themselves completing their world film festival tour with a stop in Toronto Saturday.
That’s where he got to celebrate Pitt’s Venice Film Festival best actor award for his The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford.
Before they got to Hogtown, though, Pitt also proclaimed for all to hear that he
wants to have another child. And we should all go ahead and assume the
making of that potential baby would be with Jolie. Together the couple already have four kids, including a 15-month-old girl Jolie gave birth to.
On the professional front, Pitt proudly showcased his cowboy picture at the
Toronto International Film Festival. Screening at the Elgin Visa Theatre
Saturday night, Jesse James shows itself to be an artistic cowboy picture about heroes and villains and a lot of the in between.
Pitt, naturally, plays Jesse James. The outlaw’s brooding and paranoid and in the
final year of his rampaging. So don’t expect quick draws and saloon brawls.
Ain’t what this western’s about.
Filmed more than two years ago mostly outside of Calgary and Winnipeg, the movie is a mostly reflective artsy oater by Aussie director Andrew Dominik who fine-tunes the performances each and every way.
Pitt and especially Casey Affleck who plays the coward Ford, give
Oscar-worthy performances although both seemed slightly uncomfortable about
the accolades offered them at a jammed Four Seasons Hotel Saturday before the screening.
In an interview with the National Post, Pitt admitted the three year long edit of “the complicated and psychological film” was worth the wait because they released the drama they had intended to make.
Some pundits predicted the picture was in trouble last year, but the Ocean’s Thirteen star said nothing could be farther from the truth. He said when director Dominik missed a release date last fall they both decided to wait for a following autumn release.
Their decision seems to have paid off. Pitt said he is especially thrilled with Affleck’s performance. “He’s always been more than he’s showed us and now he finally gets to prove it,” said Pitt.
In fact, the US$30-milion film is getting positive notices at the Toronto festival after winning over critics at Venice which is where Pitt suggested he might want to have another child.
He wouldn’t go that far in Toronto but he maintained his new family is the most important thing to him for many different reasons.
“My family comes first policy has made making movies more enjoyable,” he confirmed. “I don’t feel defined by what I do and that makes me feel good doing it.”
Speaking of family, Pitt smiled when he was asked if he could escape George Clooney who was in a Four Seasons suite a few doors down promoting Toronto festival film Michael Clayton. They both had been in Venice doing their festival thing. And both are currently together again on a Coen Brothers picture being shot in New York called Burn After Reading.
So did Clooney, a Coen veteran, give Pitt any advice on working with the brothers? “We don’t give that much advice to each other just a lot sarcasm,” he said.

He was and will always be. And again, he didn’t say anything different than he’d said in 2005. He just put everyone on blast this go round and put the impetus back on who it belonged, to stick to their original statement.
We’ll see if she can actually do it or not.
263 Observer2 : 09/08/2007 at 3:43 pm
I don’t think she will say anything. She is too much of a coward.

No, but he effectively put her in her place. She can be an adult and let it go and do as she’s said she’s doing. Move on or she can take her shots and let people know she’s full of it and hasn’t. The perpetual victim hasn’t done her any favors. He threw her a bone.
265 Observer2 : 09/08/2007 at 3:51 pm
Agree. It begs to wonder if she is so over Brad what the hell the Jenhags been harping about. She craves that kind of “victimness” image so the public can feel sorry for her. I really blame her and her post-interviews for the creation and continuance of this “soap-opera.” To top it off, it burned me when they turn Brad into this “no thinking man-object.” I know Brad is a catch and all but Angie is his prize. He went after her she didn’t pursue him. To this day I never fully understood the attacks on Angie. What does that say about us (modern women). That we are still needy beings who needs a man to define us. That burns in itself (no disrespect to Brad).
BRAD & ANGIE , EVERTY TIME THEY WANT TO SHOW UP SOMEWHERE , THE FIRST THING THEY DO IS TO PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL , NEWSPAPER, OR MAGAZINE OR OTHE MEDIA TO SHOW UP THERE, BEFORE THEY DO , TO GET PICTURES, I AM SURE THESE ARE NOT THE ONLY PLACES THEY GO. EXAMPLE:
WHERE WAS THE MEDIA, WHEN ANGIE REMOVED HER BREAST IMPLANTS, YEA , THESE ARE ALL FOR PUBLICITY, AND THEY ARE FOOLING THOSE WHO ,BACKING THEM UP.

I’ve always thought she did herself a huge disservice by going the route that she did and not sticking to their separation agreement. She should have said, yeah, it wasn’t working for either of us for many reasons. It’s no one’s business but ours and I wish him the best and am excited for the future. Something to that effect.
Women are own worse enemies. I don’t understand it or get behind it. No one defines us, but us.
TO JUST JARED
I WOULD LIKE TO ASK YOU TO PLEASE SHOW PICUTES OF OTHER STARS, WHO HAVE THEIR MOVIE PREMIER IN THE TORONTO FESTIVAL SHOW.

If she had stuck to the agreement she could have come out of this much better. Look at Nicole Kidman, she was a class act all the way. But not her. I wonder how they really feel about her in Hollywood circles.

VENICE (Reuters) - Taiwanese director Ang Lee’s sexually explicit “Lust, Caution” was the surprise winner of the Golden Lion for best picture at the Venice film festival on Saturday, just two years after he won with “Brokeback Mountain.”
The movie is a World War Two thriller set in Shanghai featuring long and sometimes violent sex scenes which Lee has hinted were real.
“It is overwhelming, because this movie has taken me to some very difficult places,” Lee told the red carpet award ceremony on the Lido waterfront.
“I have invited you to come along with me and in the end to stay down there with me … You are the seven samurais, I needed your help,” he added, addressing the seven-member jury.
Brian De Palma, whose “Redacted” shocked audiences in Venice with its brutal reconstruction of the real-life rape and murder of a 14-year-old Iraqi girl by U.S. soldiers, won the Silver Lion award for best director.
Tunisian-born director Abdellatif Kechiche and his drama “La Graine et le mulet” (”The Secret of the Grain”), was one of two runner-up jury prize winners, and was described by the jury as the “revelation” of the 2007 edition of the festival.
The film is about an old Arab man and his family seeking to realize their dream of opening a restaurant in southern France.
While not overtly political, it touches on the issue of integration by immigrants, and whether they have what the director called the “right to be different.”
Todd Haynes’ “I’m Not There,” one of six U.S. productions in the 23-strong main competition, took the other runner-up prize for his conceptual biopic about singer-songwriter Bob Dylan.
In a bold piece of casting, Australian-born Cate Blanchett was one of six performers to play the singer at various stages of his life, and it paid off when she was named best actress in Venice this year.
Hollywood star Brad Pitt was the surprise winner of the best actor award for his portrayal of outlaw Jesse James in “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.”
His co-star, Casey Affleck, who played James’ killer Ford as a creepy social misfit, had been widely expected to scoop the prize.

She would have. She said she didn’t want to be defined by her marriage and it’s ending and that’s exactly what she is. Her doing.
The fact that she didn’t work for 2 years is a good clue and now that she’s a supporting player in a Drew Barrymore movie and her next lead is with Steve Zahn is the other.
