Britney Spears opened up the 2007 Video Music Awards in a bejeweled bra and panties, performing her single “Gimme More.”

britney babay, I was a true fan till couple minutes ago, i believed in giving people second chances, and u gave you that. but tonight you proved that you just dont want it anymore. i’m sorry but i will no longer defend you , i will not buy your album either. tonight iam no longer a fan. goodnite everyone.
She’s done! I can’t help but think that she really IS suffering from a personality disorder of some kind. I mean, the kind of performance that she use to put out is NOT this person.
I don’t think 4 years and a couple kids can take away who you are. You figure, she’s only 25. I can see her being a little rusty, but she didn’t even try!! She didn’t bother lip-syncing and she barely moved. Why did she agree to this?? We could have done better. I was so embarrassed for her.
well well well, according to people online, brit was partying til 3am this morning, i wonder why, she probably cried after her performance and left heh.
OMG!!! Why does she think she can flaunt her body in outfits like that … she needs to lose that chubb first!!! She looks like a fat street walker with no talent I don’t feel sorry for her, everyone is giving her endless chances, but she is crazy, and is a total wash out at 25 … pretty pathetic, for a person who had everything.
Very sad! She was not ready for tonight.
It wasn’t usual standard. It was kind of slow paced and she seemed nervous. But it was her first big performance in years, so all in all it wasn’t that bad. She just needs to do more of that and get her original fire back. The song was good and I thought her body looked just fine. Hair could’ve used a little work though.
That was pathetic. She looked dumpy and the weave is hideous. My mom has better moves. Bet she’s trashed by now.
The performance was terrible. I mean…she wasnt even all that into it. She just sort of flopped around and stood out like a sore thumb compared to her backup dancers. She didnt even put emphasis in her lip syncing. It was a pathetic comeback performance. Her career is never going to be what it was or what it could have been.
She sucked! I’ve seen school talents show that were better than that ****.

That was a terrible performance! She should learn how to be a mom and give up performing for now.
That was the most horrible thing I have ever seen She looked out of it and some of her lip movements didn’t match the song tempo or lyrics. The people in the audience looked more interested in the women dancing on their table then at Britney. She should have just faked being too drunk or strung out to perform. That was just I can’t even describe how bad it was.

…i think it would have been better for her to lay low and really hone her skills and THEN come out. sad. i would have rather seen one of her more energetic backup dancers lip synch the song.
So I just watched it - I’m not a fan of hers (since I saw her leaving a club DRUGGED UP…YEARS ago & yet she hasn’t learned…any who) but I was expecting a performance…once again - disappointed…that so many girls look up to her…yes I can’t wait for my daugther to ask if she can do things that she has done…oh the day that happens I will have failed as a mother!!!
She could have given a performance…she didn’t move much so she could have at least sang…oh wait she always lip syncs…she sux!!!
She was beyond awful. I don’t know if she even knew which song she was supposed to be singing, a..lip syncing. Sad, sad, sad. What a waste of airtime given all of the talented artists at that award show. She needs to get medicated or go back to rehab.

I just put myself thru more torture and rewatched the tape Jared has up. I cannot believe that MTV allowed this to happen. I can’t believe during the rehearsals they didn’t do something. Spice up camera angles to get the camera off of her. Whether you like Madonna or say Christina Aguilara or Jennifer Lopez–they all work very hard at their craft and you rarely if ever catch them unprepared. I don’t know what happened that Britney feels she can just show up and have everyone kiss her butt and proclaim how great she is–when she is unprepared, undisciplined and gives a performance like this. The audience also looked totally aghast. Even worse than all of us not liking it - are her peers (her fellow musicians) just looking totally and completing stunned and not in a good way.

the vmas are sucking in general…way to choppy…way to much hype!
