I like the idea of students in public elementary and middle schools in NYC are wearing uniforms, to bad they wasn’t doing it when I was going to school back then. My sister goes to private school in NY and she wears uniform as well

Nice to see that someone else thinks rationally. Are you just amazed at the lunatics on this site? Being a fan is one thing, being scary obsessed is another. I came on to check out if these nuts had left their computers, but I see they haven’t found anyone else to worship yet. Don’t try and argue a point with them, they’ve all checked out mentally. Just look at what DeeCee 1170 wrote, don’t even tell me that’s someone that is dealing with a full deck. I love how they jetset? casual chic to glam at night? who writes this stuff… 5th graders? Why do they keep bringing up Jen? it doesn’t hit a nerve for all of us …so really find something or someone else to pick on. one word for these fans : DENIAL.

Hi PT, in NYC all the kids in public elementary and middle schools are required to wear uniforms now. I think it’s a great idea. Private schools have their own option; some require uniforms, others don’t. I would have hated having to wear a uniform when I was in school but as a parent I’m very much in favor of it.

Jill, I think it’s a great idea, too. It cuts down on all that stupid hip-hop clothing and kids getting into turf wars over the “coolest” clothes and helps poor families who can’t afford to buy their kids all the lastest crap so they can keep up with trends.

This actually reminds me of something else - A while back I saw this story about ann assemblyman in Atlanta who wanted to make a law banning people from showing their “foundation garments”, ie, UNDERWEAR in public. He said he was sick of walking behind people whose pants were barely hanging on their hips or were halfway down their butt and you could see their boxers or thong. He also wanted to make it illegal for women’s bra straps to show ON PURPOSE.

So of course the NAACP & ACLU jumped in and said they’d sue the city if they passed the law because it promotes racial profiling. Their contention was that this law was aimed at kids in the ghetto and the “hip hop culture” and was racist. The ironic thing? The man proposing the law was black and represented one of Atlanta’s “ghetto” neighborhoods! He said as often as not the people you see walking around with their underwear showing are white kids from the suburbs trying to be hip. That he really didn’t care what color a person’s skin was…he just didn’t want to have to see anybody’s damned underwear! LOL! I was ROTFLMAO! All I could think was - I’d vote for that law! I get sick of seeing school kids in public wearing pants that are 4 sizes too big and hanging off their asses with 6 inches of their underwear showing. Or girls with hip-hugger jeans and the top of their damned thong is 5 inches above the waistband of the jeans. Bleh! Puts me off my feed.

And THAT is why every school in the country should have uniforms. So the general public doesn’t have to see children’s “foundation garments”!

PT, my son is a grown man, but if I ever saw him on the street with his jeans down on his butt showing his underwear, I’d take a stick to him. I think my daughter-in-law would, too.

Those guys look DISGUSTING going around like that! No self-respect. It’s not hip, it’s just plain nasty looking.

Estelle - no, it’s not Daisy Lowe. He doesn’t speak to her anymore. Her mother says he hasn’t seen Daisey since he found out she was his daughter. She wrote a book whining about what a ****** father he is to the child that he didn’t know was his because she never told him until the kid was 12 or 13. Then she goes on to ***** about how now that Gavin knows Daisy is his he hasn’t even had the decency to pay her hubby back the money he’s spent on Daisy all these years nor has he ponied up any child support since paternity was proven. She ought to just shut the hell up because she looks like a money-grubbing ho and it’s not doing her kid any good to have the world know her mother slept with 2 men and didn’t know for sure who her father was! Can you just imagine the sh#t Daisy got from schoolmates who didn’t like her? Making your kid’s difficult teenage years even more difficult…now that’s some great mothering skills.
