Britney Spears shocked us with her best impersonation of a zombie in an ill-fitting bikini — but at least she wasn’t named the world’s worst dresser.

That dubious dishonor, according to People magazine’s best- and worst-dressed issue out Friday, goes to French actress Eva Green. The mag, on newstands Friday, devotes an entire page to Green, who “seems to be aiming for a galaxy far, far away” in four different disastrous looks.

“There was a lot to choose from,” said People style editor Clarissa Cruz. “It’s not just (the dresses). It’s the crazy hair, piled-on makeup, combined with these dresses.”

On the plus side, Katie Holmes emerged from the shadow of being Mrs. Tom Cruise to make People’s best dressed list. The magazine called her look “classic.”

They assigned other titles to honorees Beyonce Knowles (”the showstopper”), Cameron Diaz (”the legs”) and Penelope Cruz, Jessica Biel, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Lopez, Reese Witherspoon, Gwen Stefani and Ali Larter.

No surprises among the men singled out for their style: David Beckham, Terrence Howard, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt and George Clooney.

Team Brangelina topped the list of fab couples.

Spears did get called out for multiple offenses, though. Her public displays of her private parts and her impromptu head-shaving tops the “10 most shocking style moments of the year.”

New movie showdown: George Clooney tops Brad Pitt

TORONTO - Given the frenzy that surrounded George Clooney and Brad Pitt as soon as they descended upon the film festival, it would be easy to forget that they were, in fact, here to promote actual movies. Clooney’s got the edge up in that regard: his “Michael Clayton” is an old-fashioned thriller that’s proven pretty popular, thanks mostly to the star’s outstanding turn as a lawyer struggling to untangle corporate corruption.

Pitt, on the other hand, is more likely to get exposure from all the paparazzi photos than he is from his movie, “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.” He’s excellent as the titular antihero, and Casey Affleck is equally strong playing the traitorous Ford. The movie itself, however, while gorgeous to look at, is overlong and unfocused.

Also disappointing is “Elizabeth: The Golden Age,” which bizarrely folds Cate Blanchett’s fiery strength into a 16th century chick flick. (Did the Virgin Queen really obsess over romance while the Spanish Armada was threatening?) And despite its promising cast, no one makes much of an impact in “Rendition,” which stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a CIA agent battling right-wing politico Meryl Streep, who unfairly arrests Reese Witherspoon’s Egyptian-born husband.

“In the Valley of Elah,” from “Crash” director Paul Haggis, was also made with a fairly heavy hand. But you can bet money that Tommy Lee Jones’ unforgettable performance, as the weary father of an AWOL soldier, will lead directly to Oscar’s door.

Jones is also terrific in the Coen brothers’ “No Country for Old Men,” though if a nomination comes out of this movie, it’ll be for Javier Bardem, excellent as a single-minded psychopath looking for his stolen money. (Josh Brolin is the unlucky soul who’s got it, while Jones is the sheriff trying to delay the inevitable bloodshed.)

Meanwhile, every festival has its surprises, and the buzz this week is for “Juno,” a sharp comedy about teens (Ellen Page and Michael Cera) who decide to give their baby up for adoption (to Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman).

Director Jason Reitman was rewarded with one of the week’s most passionate ovations. Charmingly enough, he seemed genuinely surprised. He shouldn’t have been. Unlike many ill-fated festival faves, “Juno” actually earns its accolades

Yet you fail to remember how the charity in Mad’s name was going broke because she hadn’t supplied any funds towards it.

I hope they are incommunicado for the rest of the week and the weekend. They’ve earned some private family time after the paps have been chasing them all over Toronto and the kids can’t go anywhere without cameras all up in their faces.

I’m beginning to realize the enormous fascination this family has for so many people. I live in NYC and as somebody said before on this thread we are used to celebrities, we see them all the time; but I have never seen anything like this.

Brad and Angelina are damm good parents. This is the life their kids know. Home and stability is where your parents are. Their kids all look happy and healthy. Circus kids travel a lot, are their parents all bad parents?
