- Shakira has been taking a class at the University of California, Los Angeles, called “Introduction to Western Civilization: Ancient Civilizations from Prehistory to Circa A.D. 843.” The class began Aug. 6 and ended Thursday, though Shakira didn’t attended the last few classes, according to course lecturer Robert Cleve. Cleve said he hadn’t known she was a celebrity during the course and was astonished to learn she was a pop star.
- Colin Farrell treated a homeless man to a birthday to remember while he was in Toronto promoting new film “Cassandra’s Dream.” When the man informed Colin outside the Hotel Inter-Continental that his 55th birthday was the following day Colin took him to a “travel outfitters” shop called Europe Bound and bought him a thermal sleeping bag, new clothes, and luggage. Colin also gave the guy cash according to Canadian columnist Shinan Govani.
