High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens gave quite the interesting interview on Monday’s episode of The Tyra Banks Show.
Tyra threw Vanessa a faux prom because V never got the chance to attend her high school prom. Vanessa also burst into song a couple times throughout the show. Watch the video below! Here are some highlights:
So when you [and Zac Efron] are singing the songs “I LOVE YOU” and stuff, you guys were falling in love on set? I guess! [giggles] It’s fun to work with him. He’s really sweet and singing all of songs is always a blast.
Is Zac Efron a good kisser on-screen? (tight-lipped) Mmmmmm. (Tyra responds, “Oh, it’s that good? Mmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!”)
What is your ethnic background? My mom’s Filipino, my dad’s Caucasian. But within that, I’m Chinese, Spanish, American-Indian and Irish.
Best part about being famous? THE FREE STUFF.
When you read about young stars like Britney and Lindsay and them getting in trouble, how does that affect you personally? I honestly just think it’s stupid. [laughs] It’s easy to stay out of those situations. You just have to be smart about your decisions.

I don’t think anyone can deny that her comment about bad decisions was ironic, considering recent events. It’s simply a fact. Saying that her comment is ironic should not be offensive in the least.
Admittedly, however, there are some shades of gray concerning the nature of VH’s “scandal.” I agree that there are differences between having a private matter become public and displaying one’s bad decisions to the world; however, I still believe that taking the nude photos was a bad decision (though it was intended to be private). Unfortunately, celebrities have to be more careful about such matters than most. That may not be fair, but it holds true nonetheless.
Additionally…
Although I hate to offend people, I must say that I truly don’t understand the American public’s utter infatuation with the entire High School Musical franchise. Had I been a child when those movies came out, I certainly would have adored them. The music is generally catchy, but the singing is mediocre at best and the acting is absolutely horrific. I’m tired of hearing about Vanesssa Hudgen, Zac Efron, and their co-stars. There are so many infinitely more talented individuals to appreciate.

You know what..It’s people who have no right to judge and criticize others wrong doings when their lives are more pointless and dramatic then it already is so they can get the attention away from them thats what people like YOU dont have the right to say anything! Criticizing celebrities PATHETIC, they work their asses off to do what they do to entertain people like you guys and just because you don’t like them or they had a misjudgement doesnt give you any right to talk down on them. People like that are Pathetic and would rather criticize someone thats easy to target then themselves..Thats who I feel sorry for.She needs people like whoever make fun of her or talk down about her or think shes a **** to leave her alone she already apologized. #74 Stacy… Calm down… I am not perfect by far- my teen years were a horror if you ask me. Did bad things, said awful things, judged people, the works! But, I grew up- realized I was and idiot, owned up to my mistakes and became a better person. The nude pics do not phase me- it’s how she judged other people when she was far from innocent. It did not matter if it was taken 12 years ago she was aware of it. Thus, she should not have gone about judging other people. You should not worry about Vanessa- I am positive she knows she was a hypocrite(NOTE I SAID “WAS”)- And because she will want to prove herself in the , I doubt she’ll give answers like that in the future. Like I said, I am a fan and love her but, I am not going to sugar coat it. It is what it is.

WOW!!! v has an AMAZING voice. i think her voice has grown alot. besides the zac parts, i keep watching the parts where she sings. that was so sweet of tyra to give her a prom.oh yaeh, i dont think she is being hypocritical. its not like she posted the pictures herself. i dont think she is being judging anybody either. everyone has their own opinion. she still IS great role model too. sure, she made a mistake but she has taken responsibility and apologised to everyone for that mistake. she is a great person, role model actrezz, dancer, and singer.

Wow…some of you people are really mean. I loved the video, and I love how Vanessa is always completely honest. She was honest about the Britney/Lindsey question, she even came out and said that those pictures were her. Something I bet no one here would do. Those nude pics were taken a couple years ago and a ‘friend’ found them and posted them on the internet. Someone broke their trust with her. She took those pics before she was a big celeb, before she was a role model for a gazillion girls around the world. It was her personal life, stop judging her. :)
Anyway, I liked it. Tyra is sooo sweet for doing the prom thing for her. I couldn’t stop smiling while watching it. =]

i played along and watched the interview…… i was cringing the whole time b/c of all the junior high type conversation she and tyra were having. she does seem sweet but she got more excited talking about matt damon then her “boyfriend” zac….i think that’s rather telling. tyra is obnoxious. she tries to hard to seem endearing and witty and she comes across as fake to me. she especially was irritating in this by trying to act vanessa’s age in an attempt to bond and get her to open up about personal issues. i really wish that naomi campbell had hit her in the head with a cell phone when she had the chance.

Nothing says wholesome after a nude photo scandal like faux prom! Yeah, let’s remind everyone how she’s basically a high school student. Who posed nude in front of her stuffed animals, lol!
As to whether or not her stupid decision that she herself claims are “easy to avoid” was “as bad” as Lindsay or Britney’s, it doesn’t matter. It’s like, you can’t be a “little pregnant” — you’re either pregnant or not. And for everyone who gives grief to people who “judge” Vanessa for making a stupid decision, I didn’t see anyone here claiming they had never not made a stupid decision themselves or that stupid decisions are so easy to avoid like Vanessa herself did in that interview. Love her all you want, but the people saying she’s being a hypocrite for that comment have a valid right to feel that way. Doesn’t make a ho just because she’s a hypocrite or acting like naked photos weren’t easy to avoid or a stupid decision, but it just goes to show, like all of us, she is NOT perfect.
