High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens gave quite the interesting interview on Monday’s episode of The Tyra Banks Show.
Tyra threw Vanessa a faux prom because V never got the chance to attend her high school prom. Vanessa also burst into song a couple times throughout the show. Watch the video below! Here are some highlights:
So when you [and Zac Efron] are singing the songs “I LOVE YOU” and stuff, you guys were falling in love on set? I guess! [giggles] It’s fun to work with him. He’s really sweet and singing all of songs is always a blast.
Is Zac Efron a good kisser on-screen? (tight-lipped) Mmmmmm. (Tyra responds, “Oh, it’s that good? Mmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!”)
What is your ethnic background? My mom’s Filipino, my dad’s Caucasian. But within that, I’m Chinese, Spanish, American-Indian and Irish.
Best part about being famous? THE FREE STUFF.
When you read about young stars like Britney and Lindsay and them getting in trouble, how does that affect you personally? I honestly just think it’s stupid. [laughs] It’s easy to stay out of those situations. You just have to be smart about your decisions.

I did lol about the brit/lindsey question but she is not like them. they do stuff that they want to get into the papers. Vanessa is a private person who had someone leaking the pictures to hurt her. she did not pose 4 playboy or walk out the house wearing no underwear so she is not in the same place as them. What she has learnt is not to trust people.
There are positive role models and then there are negative role models. I was standing in the grocery line and saw Vanessa’s scandal on the cover of a magazine. Hmmmmph just that simple — no TV channel — no internet. There’s Vanessa’s business for me to browse through while standing waiting my turn in line at check-out. This scandal business is “negative” not positive, even if she has learned her lesson, which remains to be seen over time.

The bashers and haters here are so mean! You should all get a life! C’mom she’s 18, can be capable of saying stupid things! everybody is not perfect! and for your info she is no like lindsay and co., she’s way too different from them. Think of your mistakes first, before critizising others mistakes!

#175 Haters R U …. see note of sarcasm… maybe read better next time. Even you’re calling Vanessa’s behavior “teenage stupidity,” yet I know a lot of teenagers who don’t take naked pictures of themselves and send the photos out in an e-mail in an attempt to maintain anyone’s under-age sexual/lustful interest.
Lei what’s your point? I mean.. OJ, a murderer, are you so desperate to bring the girl down? Come on!
How does this affect you? Did she do anything to you? I don’t think so… And don’t start with “she’s a role model, she should behave”… That’s only a lame excuse for parents not to take responsability on racing their children… Parents are role models, actors are just actors…
um I do believe I would be the last person to declare her a role model, sorry and O.J. was found “not guilty” btw so calling him a murderer is “unjust” or desparate on your part. He was found “not guilty” but he still has to live with the stigma of accusation.
Vanessa is still going to have to deal with what comes along with what she did. That’s our society for better or worse. I think she’ll be fine in the long run, but she still has to deal with it… she did the do and you’re mad because I’m not on the bandwagon polishing her pedestal.

When Vanessa said that she thinks it stupid blah blah about Brit and Lohan…She didn’t mean that they were stupid she juss meant they can make better decisions..I don’t think shes a hypocrit in anyway for saying that even if she said it now after the whole scandal cuz its not like shes anything like britney or LL..she juss had one scandal that’s practically blown over by now..that doesn’t make her bad because she really hasn’t done anything bad..and not to mention she never intended those photos to come online so its not the attention that she wants..BUT brit and linds are the ones who go out every night and party..look at LL shes had dui arrests…going to jail for a 1 day does cocaine i mean those are STUPID decisions that she can prevent from happening especially after already making the mistake..BUT with V’s situation she never wanted those photos to go public and it was taken 3 years ago and shes probly matured and realized it was wrong..so to compare her to LL or Brit is stupid because shes not like them at all shes better and juss cuz this one scandal happened to her doesn’t automatically qualify her in the same category as them..She made on mistake apologized changed and shes been laying low wanting privacy..Shes 18 and young u have to experience hard times and this was v’s but She’ll become a better stronget person through out this whole thing..SO cut her some slack she didn’t do anything completely wrong and she really hasn’t at all despite those photos which were totally personal..and she probly feels betrayed by that person who leaked the photos..As for ZAnessa i hope they last forever and honestly i think this whoele scandal thing iis going to streghnthen their realtionship ..But if they happen to break up in the future i hope not i’m sure they’ll still reamine friends …So its all good V didn’t do anything that bad so you ppl and heter

Tyra is so funny there. To me she seems like a friendly down to earth person that you’d want to be friends with her.
okay.. people here are getting mad because we’re commenting on what we think of vanessa? you guys have just as much of a right to praise her as we do to disapprove of her.

Last I remember, American Indians were almost extinct. You stand a chance of being mixed with Mexican Indian than friggin Cherokee or Algonquin..

So I don’t understand why people are making a big deal out of this. Okay, yes, she made a mistake, it’s unfortunate that it happened to her. I guess it helps girls realize that they shouldn’t do that for anybody or else, it will be all over the internet. I’m 18 and I support Vanessa, I never really liked her before, I just thought of her as another Disney girl, but I actually look up to her. The fact that she immediately admitted and apologized for her wrong-doing shows that she is willing to take responsibilities for her actions and she knows what she did was wrong. On the show, she tells Tyra that she’s a PRIVATE person, so people should stay out of her personal life. At least after the scandal, she’s knows better and she has learned a valuable lesson. All she really needs right now is the support from her fans. I know her fans will stand by her 100% Plus, Marc Ecko stands by her as she’s the new face of his line Ecko Red for his fall and holiday 2007 and spring 2008 campaigns. So, move on with your life and get a new hobby.
I have said this before but I will say it again. I still think that V is one of the better role models available to young girls today. Granted there are others but I do not any reason to put her in the same category as the trainwrecks who precede her. I actually think the whole phot scandal is very small in the grand scheme of things. I have heard it said a couple of times now but I am truly starting to believe that this will be a “hiccup” on the road to her future! The fact that Ecko is still backing her and Neutrogena and Disney are not saying much a the moment makes me think that they also realize that a young girl taking nude photographs of herself (albeit unwise) is not a sign of the apocolypse or a horrible person. I think that Miss Hudgens is adorable and while I have no children myself-I have talked to several friends who do and they are backing Baby V as well.
I loved this interview that she did with Tyra though. I don’t see her as a hypocrite bc she has even said that she regrets taking those photos so she would probably deem her own scandal “stupid” as well. Something wlse that I noticed is that the more time goes on the more Zanessa are opening up. V was too cute w/ the “mmmmmmmmm” and I loved the look on her face when Tyra mentioned Zac’s piercing blue eyes (which I also love BTW)!! Oh and one more thing-I totally loved that Tyra threw her a mini-prom.
Everyone please just give this girl a break. I think most of us want to see a live version of that smile that she was sporting in this ep. Or at least something close to it.

hi people!!! its just ironic that that this episode was pre-taped and the scandal happened after. But in any case, the damage has been done and she has to do now is try to move on,learn from her mistakes and be strong. I’ll pray for her so that she can hurdle all the storms coming her way. I’ll just behind you supporting your career.
