OlderBrad Pitt: We Need a Bigger Bed
Brad Pitt also sat down with the Associated Press for an interview during the Toronto Film Festival last week.
On the potential dangers of fame: “It’s something that I want to be aware of and be cautious about, especially with the family, that everybody’s protected. I mean it’s rare, but there are imbalanced people out there. I’ve had break-ins in the house … I’ve had some of these abnormal incidents that can be a bit frightening.”
On expanding his brood with Angelina: “We’re not done. They say, ‘Any plans for a fifth?’ And I say, ‘And a sixth, and a seventh, and an eighth, and a ninth.’ That’s my answer.”
On fitting his four children in bed… and then some: “We also made a 9-foot-wide bed. Just big enough. One more and we’ll have to go to 11 feet.”
On balancing the kids with Ange: “We just take turns and make sure we keep the family together. It’s impossible for us. We’re run out of every major city. There’s just too many paparazzi. There’s always cameras in the kids’ faces, yelling their names.”

I have been a long time Brad Pitt fan and I can’t wait to see his latest movie, The AOJJ. Angie and their children are the best blessings that came into his life. Family has enriched him so much more into the wonderful man that he is. As per Bono, with his stature in hollywood, he possesses modesty which makes him more special.

I remember when my children were younger and they would climb into bed with me and would watch cartoons, read, play games and such. We have some of the best memories of those times. Also, trying to sleep with little feet, arms, hands hitting you in the back, face, or other parts of your body makes me laugh just thinking about.

I love to hear about the JP’s having to get a bigger bed. It reminds me so much of my own family, and I love how they are so down to earth.
For those stupid trolls who will pick on this as a juicy item to rag on for the day, FYI, it’s quite a common practice, the world over, for kids to climb into bed with mom & dad. Sometimes, it’s just for fun, or they may have had a bad dream, or just want to be cuddled.
I know families who would let their children sleep in their beds until they are about 4 or 5 years.
We started off with a full size bed, then went to a queen, and finally to a king size bed, as our three little ones always wanted to come in on the weekends when we didn’t have to get up early. They are all school age now, and they still come in, just to talk, or to share a big breakfast like a picnic. I believe it allows the children to know that they can always come to us whenever, and for whatever, the reason. JMO.

Hey Briseis…How are you? Say, ever heard an African proverb which goes…it takes a village to raise a child and blah, blah? Well Apparently, it isn’t just a proverb….It is freaking true. My Cousin-in-law had her baby last week (a boy) and I have…we all have been busy being there…you know. Picking up people from the airport, dropping them off, getting last minute this and that..basically being the all around gal friday and monday and tuesday (well you get the point). The only consolation is that I don’t have to cook!!!!!! Yeah, I’ve got Aunts here who, for some reason, love to cook *Shrugs*…beats me.
Anyhoo, this is why I have been MIA…you shoulda have guessed it will take something like this to drag me away from JJ. I mean after all the swaering in blood, midnight rituals and oath taking, you think I’ll just up and leave? Nah-uhn!

Look at Brad’s life now and look at Aniston’s. They are in two completely different places. He wanted a supportive partner and a family and he made it happen.
This is what you Aniston fans don’t get. Aniston treated Brad like dirt. He was not and is not a piece of property. Whenever he expressed his desires or wants, Aniston waved them off as a joke.
Why would any person ever want to go back to a relationship where they were not valued as a partner? Why would any person stay in a marraige that took them farther away from the life they wanted? Why would anyone stay in love with a person who does not value you?

Parker has adopted a baby girl from Africa, reps for the actress told People magazine.

I don’t think Brad was really compalining about the paps as much as saying they are everywhere all the time. And he has asked them to shoot at long lenses instead of getting right in their faces. That seems logical. What if you had people outside of your house and hotels ALL the time. You can’t do anything with your children. They will be affected by this psycologially. They will grow up to think that this is normal. Even Angie has spoke about it saying maybe they will fade away in the near future. you can tell it bothers her sometimes. NOONE is up for that everyday. Also he was adressing the paps trying to get pitcures of up her dress mostly at award show when she gets out of a car and have you noticed lately that when she gets out of a car he stands in front of her. That is sick anyways of the paps. She has resorted to skirts lately but she was even wearing them at home when the shot the party they were giving Mad so maybe that’s her choice right now. ’style’ is ridiculous!
Last week, it was all about begging Angelina to leave Brad; this week, she’s ‘acting’ like she’s interested in Brad- his schedule, premieres and what not, but the casuality is now Angelina.
Angelina did not want the majority of her interviews to be about her personal life. H*ll, she discussed her personal life in Readers Digest and Marie Claire; she wanted to keep the attention on the film, much to the chagrin of the piss-poor press who apparently can’t or won’t read, much less comprehend.
Brad just did the same thing; only he didn’t employ any sort of legal documentation (maybe due to the cr*p Angelina got for doing it). But when he said ‘no’, the point wasn’t pressed. Naturally, haters will say that this is unfair, and it is, but it’s not Brad’s fault; it’s sexism at work. And people’s refusal to grasp and accept that a so-called ‘bad girl’ can grow up and be more than what the ‘good girls’ are required to be.
I’ve been catching glimpses here and there of Billy Bob on his press tour for that film and he’s just as skinny as Angelina. Why is no one bashing old Billy goat? he looks 1000 years old but is funny as all get out. He’s like the film industry’s Willie Nelson. Could you imagine Angelina with that Billy goat today? ***shudders*** Destiny had other plans thank goodness.

Over the last week or so, I asked friends and acquaintances this “Family Feud”-style question: Name something associated with Angelina Jolie. Some people blurted out answers immediately, word association style: “Lips!” “Lara Croft!” “Homewrecker!” Others took the opportunity to express their secret longings for Jolie. “I’d do her in front of my mother until I couldn’t walk,” said one respondent who happened to be married … and female … and a grandmother. Yes, Angelina’s sexy. This we know.
But coming in at No. 1 — ahead of even “Brad Pitt”, which was two — were answers having to do with Jolie’s humanitarianism and work as a Goodwill Ambassador for the U. N.’s High Commissioner for Refugees. I wasn’t surprised because this is the answer I would have given. When I think of Angelina, the image that pops into in my head is of the actress, makeup-free but still ravishing, giving aid and spreading hope to people in places most people would never want to go. In addition to doing a world of good for people in need, Angelina’s efforts have had some interesting side effects. It’s totally changed her image — the Billy Bob, vials of blood, brother-kissing Angie seems like a lifetime ago. But more importantly, she’s single-handedly raised the bar for other celebrities — and the rest of us — in terms of what it means to give back. You can’t just drive a Prius, or donate your Oscar dress to charity, or wear a colored ribbon to an awards show anymore. You have to get in there in the muck, keep your facts and figures straight, and do without Starbucks, Jamba Juice and Pinkberry for weeks at a time. It’s not for wusses.
When Paris Hilton got out of the slammer, she talked about wanting to do charity work. She even showed up at gala to raise funds for children with spinal cord injuries, which is great. The difference with Angelina and almost any star you can think of is that she really gets her hands dirty. When visiting a troubled land, she reportedly insists on staying in the same facilities where the UNHCR field staff stays. Can you imagine Paris or hell, even Oprah doing that? As we all know, Ms. Winfrey likes to help people, and she’s helped tons of them, but she doesn’t like to touch them, I don’t think. Have you noticed that or is it just me? Angie, on the other hand, touches you and hugs you and wants to take you home with her. And sometimes, like with her adopted children, Maddox, Zahara and Pax, she actually does.
I’m sure other celebs have no end of admiration for Jolie but I wonder if secretly some of them are thinking, ‘Give it a rest, girl. You’re making the rest of us look lazy and self-involved.’ Could she be to celebrity activism what Lance Armstrong is to cycling? Do some people think, ‘I’m never going to be that good so why even bother getting on the bike?’ If international activism were like the board game Risk, Angelina would have her little plastic cubes all over the map. Greenland might still be up for grabs, but maybe not. I think Leonardo DiCaprio might already have it.
If any celebrity can’t win for losing here, it would have to be Jennifer Aniston, the mega-famous ex of Jolie’s hottie boyfriend Brad Pitt. Say Aniston wanted to go to Zimbabwe or Chad or Phoenix to help out with something — maybe Bono invited her personally — the media would accuse her of trying to horn in on Angie’s act. So Jen makes movies, endorses Smart Water and gets a GLAAD Award for being simultaneously famous and OK with gay people. She probably does other good stuff, too, but I can’t think of it off hand. Jen’s best bet, in terms of bolstering her do-gooder image, would be if some horrible, natural disaster were to hit Greece. She’s of Greek descent, after all, so she could chopper into the homeland, pass out food rations, maybe autograph some sand bags, and get all sweaty and tear-streaked. That could be a home run, assuming Nia Vardalos doesn’t get there first and make it all C-listy.
The way I see it, if any modern starlet — or male star, for that matter — wants to come close to Angelina in terms of humanitarian cred, the best bet is to come down with a disease, conquer it gracefully and then help others with that same disease. The ideal scenario would be to get the disease named after you — like Gwynethitis or Afflecksia. The big risk here is that Angelina would, with the help of her contacts in the international medical community, cure your disease and then you’re back to square one. And she’d look smoking hot in the lab coat, too, so you really can’t win. The only way you can win is if Angelina gets fat. And judging by the recent spreads in In Touch, Star and Us Weekly, that doesn’t look like it’s happening any time soon.

Speaking of red carpets, one small consolation for stars who feel like Jan Brady to Angelina’s Marcia Marcia Marcia is that Angie’s box office appeal is a bit hit and miss. Her last movie, “A Mighty Heart,” in which she played slain journalist Daniel Pearl’s wife Mariane, came and went early this summer. I heard it was good and I even wrote it down on my Things to See list, but I just didn’t make it to the theater. Angelina gives and gives and gives. You’d think I’d be able to get to the multiplex. There’s always Netflix.
In the meantime, I’m going to take a page out of Angie’s book and give back. No, seriously, I am. There’s a local youth mentoring program called Lifeworks I’ve been thinking of getting involved with. I met the founder a while back at a party and have kept his business card on my desk for months. Every once a while, I’ll pick it up, think about signing up to help, then put it down again, deciding, ‘I’ll get involved when things calm down.’ But of course, things never calm down. So this week, in honor of Angie, I’m picking up the phone and volunteering. And if I don’t and I blow it off yet again, Angelina’s welcome to come to my house, wrestle me to the ground and berate me like the weakling that I am.

Who knew there were asylum seekers in Phoenix? Angelina, that’s who.
The jet lag alone would do me in. And then there’s the lobbying she does in Washington and millions of dollars she donates out of her own pocket. And unlike a lot of actors, who turn activist when the acting jobs slow down, Angelina is doing all this when she’s still super-hot, both physically and career-wise. It’s awe-inspiring.
In addition to doing a world of good for people in need, Angelina’s efforts have had some interesting side effects. It’s totally changed her image — the Billy Bob, vials of blood, brother-kissing Angie seems like a lifetime ago. But more importantly, she’s single-handedly raised the bar for other celebrities — and the rest of us — in terms of what it means to give back. You can’t just drive a Prius, or donate your Oscar dress to charity, or wear a colored ribbon to an awards show anymore. You have to get in there in the muck, keep your facts and figures straight, and do without Starbucks, Jamba Juice and Pinkberry for weeks at a time. It’s not for wusses.
When Paris Hilton got out of the slammer, she talked about wanting to do charity work. She even showed up at gala to raise funds for children with spinal cord injuries, which is great. The difference with Angelina and almost any star you can think of is that she really gets her hands dirty. When visiting a troubled land, she reportedly insists on staying in the same facilities where the UNHCR field staff stays. Can you imagine Paris or hell, even Oprah doing that? As we all know, Ms. Winfrey likes to help people, and she’s helped tons of them, but she doesn’t like to touch them, I don’t think. Have you noticed that or is it just me? Angie, on the other hand, touches you and hugs you and wants to take you home with her. And sometimes, like with her adopted children, Maddox, Zahara and Pax, she actually does.
I’m sure other celebs have no end of admiration for Jolie but I wonder if secretly some of them are thinking, ‘Give it a rest, girl. You’re making the rest of us look lazy and self-involved.’ Could she be to celebrity activism what Lance Armstrong is to cycling? Do some people think, ‘I’m never going to be that good so why even bother getting on the bike?’ If international activism were like the board game Risk, Angelina would have her little plastic cubes all over the map. Greenland might still be up for grabs, but maybe not. I think Leonardo DiCaprio might already have it.

The way I see it, if any modern starlet — or male star, for that matter — wants to come close to Angelina in terms of humanitarian cred, the best bet is to come down with a disease, conquer it gracefully and then help others with that same disease. The ideal scenario would be to get the disease named after you — like Gwynethitis or Afflecksia. The big risk here is that Angelina would, with the help of her contacts in the international medical community, cure your disease and then you’re back to square one. And she’d look smoking hot in the lab coat, too, so you really can’t win. The only way you can win is if Angelina gets fat. And judging by the recent spreads in In Touch, Star and Us Weekly, that doesn’t look like it’s happening any time soon.
“She’s just too many things,” said one of the respondents to my “Family Feud” question. “She’s beautiful, she’s talented, she’s smart and she helps millions and millions of people. I’d be surprised if she doesn’t secretly know how to fly. I’m waiting for the day she just flies down the red carpet.”

I heard it was good and I even wrote it down on my Things to See list, but I just didn’t make it to the theater. Angelina gives and gives and gives. You’d think I’d be able to get to the multiplex. There’s always Netflix.
In the meantime, I’m going to take a page out of Angie’s book and give back. No, seriously, I am. There’s a local youth mentoring program called Lifeworks I’ve been thinking of getting involved with. I met the founder a while back at a party and have kept his business card on my desk for months. Every once a while, I’ll pick it up, think about signing up to help, then put it down again, deciding, ‘I’ll get involved when things calm down.’ But of course, things never calm down. So this week, in honor of Angie, I’m picking up the phone and volunteering. And if I don’t and I blow it off yet again, Angelina’s welcome to come to my house, wrestle me to the ground and berate me like the weakling that I am.

This is what i’ve always wondered to myself whenever the media go to town on one of Angie’s humanitarian efforts. Knowing how self-absorbed her colleagues in HW are, what with the endless shopping, preening and other forms of retail therapy that go on, i’ve always felt that jealous competitors, the entertainment media and all the high-end retailers whose very existence depend on stars like Angie endorsing their products, very likely indulge in an orgy of badmouthing her behind her back.

#352: max, I don’t know if you had been posting here yet when we were told that the X likes to give but only when it’s hush hush. It was so hush hush (that it was speculated jokingly) that she probably had to have everybody sign a confidentiality agreement for people not to divulge her charitable gifts because she was so humble and shy of publicity.
Then we find out that she only gives autographed pictures, used clothes that were given as gifts to her in the first place, things she wouldn’t miss or probably didn’t want to wear anyway. (If she ever gave money, then it’s really really kept so secret maybe even the IRS doesn’t know.)
That’s the height of her generosity. Oh, but she does like to see her name on the donor list, that’s for sure.

……………Jen’s best bet, in terms of bolstering her do-gooder image, would be if some horrible, natural disaster were to hit Greece. She’s of Greek descent, after all, so she could chopper into the homeland, pass out food rations, maybe autograph some sand bags, and get all sweaty and tear-streaked. That could be a home run, assuming Nia Vardalos doesn’t get there first and make it all C-listy.

She’s already got the nose job, the lipo, new makeup, but same hairdo of course (she’ll have that straight do until she’s in her eighties cause it’s the only one that worked for her), new wardrobe. Wow! She’s a completely new man.
All these cause she’s preparing to walk the red carpet at the Oscar’s and show up the other lady, I bet you. She wants to be ready for when Brad and Angie get noms or be called in to present the awards next February. Baby wants lemons so she’ll get lemons.

But it’s already happened. Greece had a tragic incident with those fires and everything but she was nowhere to be found. Not even a blurb came out to say what she was doing to help or what she thought about this. Did she even send something to those who were burned out of house and home?
She could have had a great opportunity right there but she was probably busy surfing in Hawaii with the Coquettes.

Jen just doesnt have the chops to speak on any subject. If you’ve seen her interviews with Letterman, Oprah, etc, she never formed any sentences in her answers. If Jen wans to help on that Greek fire, she needs Courtney Cox to help her. She cant do things on her own. That’s why she co-host a BBQ for Sacha Cohen’s fiance. She co-directed a 10 minute movie. She is basically the 3rd wheeler.
Besides, I’m not sure if Jen wants to give back. She has never done that in the past, not even with her 110M networth.

As much as I love the Brad, it seems like others here have stated already he has the choice and resources and awareness of this situation. #375: micro, Huvane could have written a sentence or two for her saying how devastated she was at the tragedy. She didn’t have to say it, just send out a press release in HW and in Greece. It could have boosted her image even for a tiny bit as well as lift the spirits of the people who were affected by the fires. But not even her PR thought it was something that must be done. That is sad.
