Brad Pitt & Jesse James: Real-life Relatives
Brad Pitt plays the title role in The Assassination Of Jesse James but according to Inside Edition, Brad and Jesse are real-life relatives.
According to Eric James, a descendant of Jesse James, Brad is a distant cousin of the infamous outlaw group Dalton Gang. A Dalton apparently married an Ogle who married a Pitt.
Inside Edition informed Brad of his “criminal” past at last night’s NYC premiere, and a stunned Brad responded, “I did not know that. I’ll have to look that up.”

I saw Extra’s coverage of the premier - called them America’s Most Beautiful Couple, and asked Brad about the whole security thing - they did something different with the security set up last night at the premiere to make things a bit safer I guess. That was the gist of it… short and sweet! :D

What’s new? Keen cowboy aficionados will, in any event, be able again to contemplate the mood of the nation next month when The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, starring Brad Pitt, opens at the Venice Film Festival.
My spies in them thar hills say that Brad Pitt will remind those of us who adore westerns just why we adore them. He is purported to show us a Jesse James who is both baddie and goodie - reckless and handsome, Irish and American, capable of great gentleness and horrid brutality.
Not just a charming killer, Jesse James is reputed to have lived with a thirst for celebrity and with a homegrown hunger for profits greater than those easily to be achieved via democratic means alone.
He was one of the selfish genes in the body politic - famed and feared, but also admired as a powerful representative of something essentially free and spirited in the American character.
Every culture has its murderer-heroes, but the new film’s portrayal of Jesse James may give us a chance to think afresh about the ways in which charisma can obscure bad motives.
As well as the Jesse James movie, the forthcoming weeks will also see the release of No Country for Old Men, the Coen Brothers’ take on the trouble with western men.
Within a fortnight we will also have Seraphim Falls, starring Liam Neeson in hot pursuit of a cowboy played by Pierce Brosnan, and Russell Crowe in a remake of the 1950s classic 3.10 to Yuma.
We might say that in a lively culture there are no right answers, there are only right questions, and it seems to me that the western film is a great, traditional source of the right questions.
In Unforgiven, when the character played by Clint Eastwood starts shaking and then drops his gun, we feel that a formerly immutable version of American machismo is being questioned.
I sometimes wonder if too much of popular culture isn’t entirely about distraction and about thoughtlessness, when, at the better end, it can be the source of untold wonder. There are people who will mistake the new westerns for macho bloodbaths, for cynical Hollywood product aiming to cash in on the vaguely familiar.
One or two may be like that. But I pay homage to Pitt’s Jesse James western as a provocative form of entertainment and argument, feeling moved to pay homage all the more during times when our ethics appear so tribal.
If we watch the westerns with care, we may come out of the summer having examined something in a new way. Presumably Pitt is playing Jesse James as “Oirish” accent because of his great authenticity of his Irish traveller in “Snatch”.

Oh maddox is only 6 , so it doesn’t matter? IT does matter moron, because this lifestyle will effect them when they are 15! and WHAT happens when they’re 13,14,15 and no longer see people wanting to take their pictures day in and day out… does their self esteem drop and do they start to question their worth - because no one is interested in them? (We know the hollywood types and they do have pretty big egos, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree). Or do they happily accept the fact that they are old news?
How do you know this is gonna be their lifestyles for the rest of their lives? Again, you are ASSUMING and PROJECTING without any facts. Mad is 6 now, but you’re talking about this “what if when Mad is 13, 14, or 15. Isnt it a bit too far away to project right now? Nobody knows how long they will remain in hollywood, or if they will go part time. Brad may focus on his production company. Angie has always expressed more interest in humanitarian work. But nope !!! You hate them. So you project the future( 10 years +) based on what it’s happening now.
Your post mentioned about Mad’s “self esteem, question self worth, no one is interested in the future etc.” Well, let me tell you, this is why parents come in. This is what separates good parents from bad parents. . Good parents will teach and explain to Mad what is happening and why there are paps out there . They will explain what their jobs are as actors. . If the parents teach the kids right, Mad will have learned what is superficiality, vanity, self worth, being grounded, reality etc. Looks like both Brad and Angie are good parents. There was this landlady in Calgary saying Mad had to write an apology letter when he broke the glass. There are also many instances which I cant quote them all, that the children are taught to behave well. It’s not doom and gloom. Life is not perfect. Given all these circumstances, it’s up to the parents to handle and SOLVE this to the best they can. Nothing cant be solved.
Sure, we see paps taking pics of the children going to and from school, airport, and central park. Think, there are 24 hours in one day. What is the % these children are photographed? Of course it would have been perfect to have 100 % privacy. Given the nature of their jobs, it’s impossible. But under the circumstances, the family handles well. . The family did mangage to get away anytime they find. There were many times when NO one knows where they were on vacations. The most recent example is : did any picture surface last week when they were gone a few days? No one knows where they are. In France, on vacation, they had a whole week without paps. By the time the paps caught up on them, they moved somewhere. There are many more instances !!!

ET and E channel had a short and sweet clips also. ET ask about the Oscar buzz and asked Angelina if she get worried about movie releases. She said no. They only worry about real things like family. ET mostly showed pics of Brad, Angelina and George and his new girl.
Since this is like the third RC for this movie I wasn’t expecting much coverage.
