The View co-host Elisabeth Hasselback takes the cover of Pregnancy magazine November 2007. She has a 10-page maternity fashion spread and a Q&A, where she has a few choice words for Rosie and being a conservative mother.
On being a conservative mother in 2007: “Being a conservative mother isn’t the challenge. Being a conservative in New York City on television is the challenge. Once I had [first daughter] Grace, I had more reassurance and affirmation as to why I have felt the things that I’ve felt for a long time. I want to make sure that the decisions I’m making and the votes that I’m casting are going to create long-term benefits for Grace and my next child and hopefully more to come after that.”
About being pregnant and arguing with Rosie O’Donnell: “When a woman cries, it’s never seen as a sign of strength and never seen in a positive light. A man cries and he’s sensitive, and a woman cries and she’s weak. So even when you’re debating another woman, the first person to cry pretty much loses.”
Elisabeth is due with her second child on November 11th.

Maybe 20 yeas from now when her children read about their Mom’s two “15 minutes of fame” stints, they will watch her on the View and be embarrassed by her verbal self riteous spewing. They, like us will be saying “What the hell, shut that woman up, she’s making herself look stupid saying those things, does she not realize it?” She seems like a pre-programmed Stepford Wife that says what is dictated to her - not what is REAL in society and the world around us. #13 how on earth is she close minded. In fact, she proves that most people that hate her are close minded by not allowing her to have an opinion. I may not like everything she says or stands up for but she is more than welcome to her opinion.
- Betty, she can have an opinion, that is correct. What she can’t do is discredit others opinions for not agreeing with HERS. Obviously you don’t watch the View (can’t blame you). She only listens to Sean Hannity and is brainwashed by him and other way right wingers. She is very good at quoting statistics and scratching her leg or arm when the attention is on her.

NOBODY ever said that they don’t support the troops…how lame are you that you can’t possibly understand that just because a person doesn’t support war, doesn’t mean that they don’t support or care for the people fighting over there. If your President really cared for our troops he would allow them to have adequate time to train before shipping them over to what appears to be an un-winnable war and if your President really cared for our troops he would make sure that they had the best armor and equipment available…no matter the cost. I don’t have any faith in this Administration. When the Secretary of Defense doesn’t even have the decency to take the time to personally sign ever single Death Notification that hits his desk(Rumsfeld)…how much respect does he really have for OUR troops!!!
