Mary-Louise Parker’s New Daughter via Africa
TMZ has scored the first picture of Weeds star Mary-Louise Parker with her newly adopted daughter on Thursday in New York City.
Mary-Louise and former actor boyfriend Billy Crudup have a 3-year-old son, William Parker.
Parker’s Jesse James costar Brad Pitt recently praised her as an actress and as a mom.
Said Brad of Parker, “I haven’t spoken to her since I’ve heard [about her decision to adopt a child from Africa]. I think that’s a great idea… She’s a great mother, she graced our film, came in and did a really lovely part for us. She had her little boy (Will) out and she was a really lovely mother.”
No other details have been released about Parker’s new baby.

What a cutie pie. More pictures please.
Let’s see: her money, her life, her family, her choice. She has the right to adopt from Siberia if she wants.
Those whon don’t agree, should stop attacking individuals on where they adopt and head to the nearest AMERICAN adoption agency and go adopt some kids.
If you are not doing that, then shut up, relax and let grown adults do what they want with their lives. Butt out!
Aww, congrats to MLP and her son Will on the newest member of their family! What a beautiful little girl. Any adoption warms my heart - just to see a child get a shot at a better life and to have parents is truly special.
It’s sad to see people making nasty comments and offering up criticisms - some people here just make me sick with their ignorant, uninformed opinions.
#31 S. - I am truly sorry to hear about the experiences of you and your siblings - what happened to you is not right either. The point that others are trying to make is that adopting a child from Africa is actually giving them a chance at LIFE, not just a GOOD life. Most who aren’t adopted will simply die from AIDS or malnutrition - they will never even have the chance to grow up in a foster care system (as flawed as it may be). I just wish there was a good home for every orphan, North American or otherwise. Peace.

Nevermind that there are thousands of kids that need a home right here in our own country. I guess 3 and 4 years is old in orphan years, wouldn’t want one of those. Better go elsewhere so we can be sure to get one young enough to mold in our own image.

Then why don’t you adopt a child from the US then? Geez, people are so quick to judge. She’s doing a fantastic thing by giving that poor child a new chance at a better life. She should be applauded for that, not criticized. Get a gripe!
It always looks ridiculous when white women hold black babies.
It looks stupid.
It always looks ridiculous when people make racist remarks.
It sounds stupid.
I just wanted to say how commendable it is that Ms. Parker made room for any of God’s blessings in her life. It says alot about a person whenever they take “someone not of their blood” in and gives them a better chance at life. God Bless Ms. Parker. And now i’m going to get off of this website because once again some of you have ruined it by bringing Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston onto website that has nothing to do with either of them.
What does Brad know about mothers, let alone a good one? He has disowned his mother with the support of headcase who does not believe in family.
Good thing Jane has Jennifer.
my favorite Jay Leno joke was
‘’Hurricane Katrina was so bad it wrecked more homes than Angelina Jolie’’
bwhahahahahahahahaha
people don’t adopt in the US because it’s a rich country. US orphans have more support. not only nations in africa are poorer but asia, southeastasia, the list goes on. the death rate for children in those parts of the world is really high compared to the US. kids are dying from malaria, the US pharmacuticals should be sending FREE drugs there for malaria and aids.
the baby is super cute btw
The little girl is happy that she chose to adopt from Africa, don’t you think?
…and that is all that should matter.
**** her and maddonna too.
I have nothing but respect for anyone who tries to do anything
positive to help and come to the aid of children in need…
The care, dedication, closeness and love that these children
need is priceless, not to mention a balance and healthy meal
on a regular bases, health care, something as common to us as
a glass of clean water to drink… For a child to get a chance
to live out a full life that once looked impossible is a gift
from God….think about the child, and put your hate card back
in the deck…
I applaud anyone..black… white… green.. yellow… that is
human enough to give a damn and do ‘anything’ beside find fault
and complain about what others are trying to do.
Good Heavens! PittY-Boy sounds so condecending toward Mary Louise’s decision to adopt an African child…does he think he owns the concept now?..Jerk, he and his ho are just jerks…and narcissistic ones at that
I cannot believe how ignorant some of these comments are. How can you criticize anyone who would give a child a loving home and a good life? AIDS is sweeping like wildfire in sub-Saharan Africa leaving hundreds of thousands if not millions of children orphans. These children need homes, and beautiful people like Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Mary-Louise Parker are generous and caring enough to take some of these children into their lives. The comments about how many American children need homes has nothing to do with the decision to adopt a child from Africa. American orphans need homes, Chinese oprhans need homes, European orphans need homes - who are we to judge someone else’s personal choices, ESPECIALLY the choice to reach out and give someone a better life. As bad as the foster care system is here and as much as our healthcare systems need overhaul we in the U.S. still have the privilege of having access to medicine and treatment that a child in a third world nation will never see. We also have the fortune of access to education. Maybe Ms. Jolie and Ms. Parker chose to adopt from Africa because they witnessed the devasation that has gone on there do to AIDS (and American and European imperialism and exploitation of matural reasources and the diamond trade, but that’s an entirely different debate). To all those who sit in judgment, why don’t you go visit orphanages in third world nations and educate yourselves.
good for her ass she adopted an african kid, all i say is teach the kid about his heritage and not that scientology crap, hes african not anything else
i agree with stop buying kids, it does look stupid to see a white woman holding a black baby
since when have these women been so interested in africa. if they are so interested go over there and spend some of that money your ass has like oprah did to help a bunch of people, not running aroun with a black kid on your arm, like oh look at me i am helping a poor black kid. crap
I agree that adoption is a marvelous thing and it shouldn’t be criticized that MLP saved one child in Africa.
However, the person who pointed out that there are plenty of orphans in America does make a valid point.
The idiot who thinks that children don’t die in the US from lack of basic needs, just because they’re orphans is rather naive.
I don’t think we should be less compassionate towards people living outside of our home countries, but we do need to be at least as compassionate towards our own citizens.
It might be easy to ignore problems on a global scale. I applaud humanitarian efforts worldwide, but we do need to make sure that before we try to fix other countries, take care of our own as well.
MLP did a good thing, but it should be an act that inspires someone to adopt a child in the US, as much as finding one elsewhere. It is important to remember that many older children without parents do fall through the cracks. Going from foster home to foster home, often becoming “problem kids” and problematic adults.
To the person who said that it is a personal choice whom you adopt, I see his or her point… However, the way the comment was worded sounding almost as if one is choosing a puppy, not helping a child. The abused and unhappy child needs a loving family just as much as one that seems to attract one’s love automatically, or naturally on some spiritual level.
Nevertheless, who would want any child, whether as beautiful and cute as MLP’s or not, to ever miss out on the chance of perhaps having a better life. No matter what, if even one child is saved from hopelessness, either figuratively from being alone in the world emotionally, or literally from a life without enough food or proper shelter, then who among us should try to say that it is in any way a bad thing.
1) i think it’s cool that she adopted period.
2) brad and angelina did not invent int’l adoption so stop bringing them up whenever someone adopts
3) African, Asian, and American kids need homes. no matter what country race or whatever
4) adoption or having children is someone’s personal decision, stop hating!
5) and saying it’s looks ridiculous whenever a white woman holds a black child is just plain racist!
