Are the schools (non Catholic) in NY closed for Yom Kippur?

Some of the private schools might be closed, but the public schools, although they usually are closed for Yom Kippur, are open today. My son feels gypped - he was counting on the day off! :)

Another night away from the kids… and Brad has the ball and chain escorting him to another premiere… I’m sure the cast would love it if she sat back for this one so maybe they could actually get some press coverage! Hope they always do things together as much as possible. Maybe while Angie is in LA she can go by and see her OB/GYN. The GMA interviews show what a sweet guy he is; I think by looking at his eyes he is cautious about talking about his private life due to how the tabs butcher it! You can tell he loves Angie, his family and his life.

I am so happy for him. I hope he gets credit for his craft via Oscar at least nominated, it is due time. Hope Angie at least gets nominated.

He has finally found that special person. It is so funny looking back at Angie’s interviews where she always thought the man she was with was the one but in the end they were really different. I think this time she has found the right one! They are just so cute together. Look so much better together then he did with the other.
Previous relationships make one know what they want and don’t want. If Brad and Angie stay close and supportive of one another, this relationship will last. I think Brad knows how important it is to not be apart. Angie and Brad also have learned from previous relationships the importance of them growing in the SAME direction and respecting each other’s individuality, and supporting it. Angie’s refugee work and the need to visit the camps/ Brad N.O. projects and love for architect. Jen tended to not support Brad in these things and did her separate thing with her girlfriends and the members of the cast of Friends. When her marriage was ending she did not even realize it because she did not nuture it. Her friends stated in VF that she wanted to work on the problems but Brad did not; by the time she realized that there was really a problem–it was too late to work on it. Brad said in the Charlie Rose interview that “they always laid everything on the table”. I really think he is very up front with his feelings and did not want to work on something that had no where to go. Like Jen said “he had checked out of the marrigage”. This does not just happen but probably had been developing for months. Angie just made him re-examine his life.
That is why you need to not be separated to much; esp. in HW. You both have to be on the same page. Jen was into her other friends too much. She only wanted 2 kids, he wanted 7 or more! She was not into his style/love of modern art and seemed to make fun of him. He never did this whenever he talked about her. He always used respect. She really lost a good, fine, sweet,and loving man. Don’t care what haters say. Brad is a great ,strong man and so glad he is with Angie! She deserves a good man! BBT was beneath her and was into her only for sex (dirty old man). They should have never gotten married. Angie knows this and that is why she is so cautious now. She does not want to make a mistake again. Brad is marriage shy also. Being in a bad marriage will do that to you!
I just wonder about Nicole K. and her hubby. They have been separated a lot lately and no kids! I hope they get back together soon and stay close to one another.
Sorry to write so much–but read that interview from VF by Jen that someone posted the link to recently and looking at GMA just brought all these thoughts to my head.

I like Jen in SOME of her movies but they all seem to be similar esp. the characters she plays. I DON’T hate her. I just don’t like how she played the pity party and made Angie look bad. I lost my respect for Oprah also for supporting her. I do not like what Oprah has evolved into over the past years. She has too much power. She is starting to look old esp. by the eyes. She can not manage her own personal life and here she is on national tv bad mouthing Angie and Brad. That is not what a person in her position. She is suppose to be objective and look at both sides of the story should have done. She takes things too personal. I really believe if Jenn had not played the pity game and Oprah had stayed out of it; everything would have been fine. They really made it bigger then what it should have been. Couples in HW break up every day.
Love Brad and Angie and hope they stay together forever!!! Maybe one day they will get married. Angie once said “maybe later if the kids want it”.

I’m proud of these two. They finally realize that it is ok to leave the kids for a day or two. Good for them. This makes me feel much better about them because for a while it seemed like they had the kids attached to them just to prove they were good parents. Everyone realizes that they are good parents so I think their finally getting it. Good for the JP’s! Let’s face it we all need a break from our children every once in a while!

They are professionals, they show up on time, they do whatever needs to be done to publicize their films, they are not prima donnas like some others out there. You know I was watching Diane Sawyer’s interview and Brad was obviously a real cutie when he was young, but as a man–OH MY! He has matured so gracefully. I know some of the trolls don’t feel he has aged well, but I think he is much hotter now than when he was younger. His maturity makes him so much more interesting and brings out dimensions that he didn’t allow show when he was a young pup!

The Academy Award-winning actress, who has worked with UNHCR as a Goodwill Ambassador since 2001, used her acceptance speech to draw attention to the plight of refugees and the work of the UN refugee agency. She said that apart from her children, spending time with refugees was “the greatest gift – the greatest life lesson I could ever receive.”

DAMASCUS, Syria, August 28 (UNHCR) – UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie has visited Iraq and Syria to see first-hand the plight of hundreds of thousands of families uprooted by the conflict in Iraq.

The UN refugee agency estimates more than 4. 2 million Iraqis have left their homes – 2 million to neighbouring states and another 2.2 million displaced inside Iraq.

Yesterday in Damascus, Jolie visited a UNHCR registration centre and spent hours talking to Iraqi refugees in their homes. Today, she crossed into Iraq to visit 1,200 refugees trapped in a makeshift camp at the border, unable to flee Iraq, and later watched scores of Iraqis crossing into Syria at a border checkpoint.

As a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, Jolie said she would leave politics to others while focusing on the region’s huge humanitarian needs.

“I have come to Syria and Iraq to help draw attention to this humanitarian crisis and to urge governments to increase their support for UNHCR and its partners,” Jolie said. “My sole purpose in both countries is to highlight the humanitarian plight of those uprooted by the war in Iraq.”

I like Angelina more than I like Brad because she seems honest and real and she obviously doesn’t care about what other people think. People can bring up all of Angelina’s past they want. You know what? It just makes me admire her more. She’s never made any secret of the fact that when very young she felt lost and alone and ugly and insecure–the things that all of us have felt if we are honest.

So she struggled, experimented, made good choices, made bad choices but she carried on and she learned and she decided what she wanted from life:

Despite craving alone time with their family of six, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie arrived arm in arm September 18 at the New York premiere of Pitt’s latest film, “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.”

“He [Brad] is a great actor, and I love him, so it’s wonderful to see him do his work,” Jolie raved, although she admits she doesn’t see him as a huge Hollywood star. “I see him as ‘Daddy,’” she said, smiling.

Jolie looked wide-eyed in the middle of all the camera flashes and screaming fans at the Ziegfeld Theater, where the premiere took place. “We talk often about how nice it’s going to be when we’re not as in the public eye,” said Jolie, who posed for photographers in her L’Wren Scott dress but coyly deflected questions about her ever-growing brood. “We’re like anybody — we appreciate being able to be in this business and to have had careers — and it’ll be nice when life gets quieter.”

The couple got a taste of that peace while filming “Jesse James” in Alberta, Canada, during the fall of 2005. “We had a really good life there,” Pitt said, his face glowing at the mention of his children. “We rented a log cabin out on the river and played in the woods.”

Now completed and opening in theaters September 21, the movie follows the complicated life of outlaw Jesse James (played by Pitt), whose infamy made him one of America’s very first celebrities. TGIF everyone. i finally got my V magazine today, yippee, and it was the only one left, so it seems to be selling well. it was a bit pricey, but i just closed my eyes and bought it.lol. i consoled myself with the fact that brad and angie give so much of themselves to charitable causes. i see our favorite couple is on the move again, and this time all alone, which means some serious mommy and daddy time. what i wouldn’t give to be a fly on the wall,lol. they are so beautiful together, and every time i see them, i am more fascinated. i wish them safe travels to whereever they are going, which i believe might be LA. for the premiere.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read what they are posting on the most recent X thread. The same people who have been bashing Angelina as a “homewrecker” want Jenny and Benny to hook up — never mind that he’s married and this time around there is a child involved. One of them even had the nerve to say that if Affleck left his wife for X, it wouldn’t be homewrecking. WTF kind of double standard is that?

These idiots are so desperate to see X with a man — ANY man — that they don’t give a damn if he’s single or married, as long as he’s breathing and between puberty and death.

The Jenhags have finally shown how morally bankrupt they really are. Kick them all onto the trash pile; that’s where they all belong.

Hello ladies. Another premiere? Now I am pissed, because the movie is not playing in my area. If I am not mistaken, it only plays in 2 theaters in the LA area, which is an hour drive from me. Not fair.

He did come to Toronto to show the film, and that was very nice but all I am saying is that Calgary could have been a stop over then on to LA today. Maybe???! The crew could have been american but the locations where all Alberta. As an Executive Director and lead actor this would have been a very smart film business decision. N’est pas?

I know that all of us or at least a large majority of us who visit this site are admirers of the Jolie/Pitt family and I am also a fan on many levels. I would like to see a lot less hate motivated commens from bloggers for eg. people making nasty comments about their children being monkeys as well as others who divide their remarks into negative race related comments and I mean this for those who blog from both sides of the fence.

When we allow this to become a hate filled site we lose the entire purpose of what these two are trying to teach us and the world in general. We must find other means by which to express ourselves rather than by using the language of hate. It is not very becoming for those of us who call ourselves fans of this first class couple.

We must insist on moving the bar up to a higher level.

Hunky actor George Clooney was involved in a motorcycle accident this afternoon, when his cycle was hit by a motorist. He was treated for a hairline rib fracture and road rash at Palisades Medical Center in Palisades, New Jersey.

Sarah Larson, who was riding on the motorcycle with Clooney, suffered a broken foot. Clooney and Larson were released shortly after being treated.

Never in my life have I ever attended a movie and afterwards sat in the theatre, thinking about what my eyes had just seen. I have been trying to think of some words to describe how I feel about this movie but none of them can do it justice. I’ve seen a lot of films,A LOT OF FILMS,and there are tons of films that I enjoy but never have I actually ’seen’ a perfect movie. THIS is that perfect movie to me. Its not for the masses…some will find it long and uneventful. I on the other hand never wondered what time it was or how much longer and it sure didn’t feel like 2 hours and 40 minutes.

I hope that you guys get the same feeling and enjoy it as much as I did.

It seems that they went to DC not LA. Maybe Angie was looking in DC for a home for them to live in and for Mad a school while Brad films State of Play.

Natalie Portman is supposed to be in this film also.

The music and narration was haunting yet beautiful. The performances given by Pitt,Affleck,and even Rockwell are among the best performances in years. This films pulls you in and never lets go. You feel the same emotions the characters feel. You agonize and hope, even though you know what lies ahead in these historical figure’s lives. This was a ‘great film’ and hands down, THE best film of the year.

I hope that you guys get the same feeling and enjoy it as much as I did.

Well, your very welcome spunky. It wasn’t as good as it should have been and I sooooo soory so for that. People who have seen it have been very supportive and all, but I am all about good service and it should have been better, especially since I was making this for SOMEONE, it wasn’t for me. I promise the next one will be much better. I am working the kinks out of my computer system. School started for me and all. I pretty much have all my classes in a computer room, some are lectures and those are in classrooms. I have to take math, why do they keep making us take that stuff, I can’t stand it. Math gives me goosebumps. As long as you can add, subtract, multiply, and divide whats the point of putting letters in it and all that jazz.

Anyway Brad and Angelina look awesome, if they don’t have another premiere to go to then they are taking mommy and daddy time seriously. Good for them. :)

I don’t know if we discussed this to death or not, but I just watched the 2nd part of the GMA interview — not the internet clip, but my own recording of it. To me, something gets lost in translation when it’s posted on the internet.

Anyway, Brad came across so cute when he talked about the dancing. Personally, I detected some blushing and maybe some reminiscing when he talked about his and Angelina’s dancing influence over their kids.
