We all know that Britney Spears appeases her oral fixation by sucking on lollipops but aren’t pacifiers taking it a little too far?
While Britney was out shopping with son Sean Preston, 2, in Beverly Hills on Thursday, Britney put Jayden’s pacifier in her own mouth. Granted, she was busy shopping and her dress had no pockets to stow it away…

No, I wouldn’t suck on a pacifier and yes, I’m a mother. If it fell on the ground I’d take it to the bathroom and wash it. Of course that’s just how I am, but anyway my kids didn’t care for pacifiers so I can’t really relate to that sort of predicament.
I have seen LOTS of mothers do it when the baby drops it on the floor as a way of cleaning it, I think it’s a bit gross but everyone does it, it’s perfectly normal

First off why does she not have a purse or diaper bag - of course her assistant has it. She was shipping after all - has to pay for her items somehow.
Plus no child should have a pacifier after they are walking - to dangerous and bad for their teeth.
I hate it when I see a child in the store and smile at them and instead of seeing their beautiful smile back all you see is a pacifier hanging out of their mouth.
And yes my son used a pacifier maybe 5 or 6 times in his life and only when he was in infant. He really didn’t like it, too well adjusted, he didn’t even have a security blanket or had to sleep with a toy.
Pacifiers are completely ridiculous to begin with. If a child gets his/her oral needs met via breastfeeding there is ZILCH reason why they need to have a piece of rubber shoved between their lips. Has ANYONE EVER seen a pacifier in the mouth of an Indian, Native, African infant. NO - and their mental health issues are WAY WAY healthier than in the west. Why? Because they attach their children via the breast and in papooses that keep the baby close and near the mother’s heartbeat. The west is SO ill, so backward and so inducing illnessess and disorders it’s a tragedy.

I am a mother and yes I would if it fell on the floor and my child needed it back sometime soon. It may not be sanitary, but not much is sanitary. Also, I would put the binkie in my mouth as a joke to make my kid laugh. The problem is that Britney cannot do anything without being scrutinized. Non-celebrity mothers do things all the time, sometimes more shocking, and nothing is even thought about it.

That is so disgusting. I have 3 children and I NEVER would have done that.

Everything here is a substitute - nannies instead of mother, pacifiers instead of maternal attachment, bottles instead of breast, toy figures instead of mirroring one on one. It hurts the heart to think of the patterns she’s setting down for her children FOR LIFE.

Some of you people need to get a life. Who says dummies are bad for a babies mental health? There have been no studies saying that there is something wrong with a babies head if they have a dummy.
I had a dummy when I was a baby and I was one of the smartest people in my class. In fact I was doing the same work as the kids 2 years above me with ease.
Don’t scrutinize what you don’t know. NOT every mother is the same. Some mothers would stick dummies in their mouths others wouldn’t. My mother in law has never given her kids dummies at all and my daughter is more well behaved, calm and peaceful then her children. NO she doesn’t have a dummy any more, she hasn’t had it for over a year.
Just leave the girl alone. Let her do what she wants. They are HER kids and no one can tell her how to raise them. If you don’t like they way she is raising them then keep your comments to yourselves.
If Gwen Stefani’s baby had a dummy and she did the same thing no one would even care, same with Angelina Jolie or Katie Holmes.

I’m a mother of two and plenty of times I have done this. Either you have no pockets and the kid doesnt want it, so you just stick it your mouth to free up your hands OR it falls on the floor and you put it in YOUR mouth first to clean it off. sounds gross, but only a mom can understand….NO BIG DEAL PEOPLE!!
I always did if it fell on the ground and there wasn’t a sink near by to wash it I did the same thing with their bottle too. I would rather the germs/dirt be in my mouth then my childs.
I’m a mom. I have two children. I’ve never put my child’s pacifier in my mouth. However, my children don’t use pacifiers beyond 5 months of age. By the time a child is 2 year old they have more advanced coping skills, so sucking on a binky like a newborn infant shouldn’t even be on their radar screen. So sad.

She was in a store for crying out loud, not in the middle of the jungle. Even if the pacifier HAD fallen on the floor (which the paparazzi would have caught, but they didn’t), she could have run to the restroom and washed it off. I have been guilty of putting one in my mouth if my child had dropped it. Especially if there was no running water around to clean it with. I would rather take the germs then give them to one of my kids.
forget about the pacifier and check out the pic of SPF in his carseat. he is not strapped in properly. the shoulder straps should be over his shoulders tightly. you should only be allowed to fit a single finger behind the strap. it is way too loose. get it together britney……i hope kevin gets those kids—-it’s for their own health and safety!!!!

As a NICU nurse I can assure you all that it is not ok to pick up a dropped pacifier and suck on it to “clean” it and then give it to your child. If you are doing this not only are you putting yourself at risk of getting sick from any germs that you are picking up from the ground or wherever the pacifier has just fallen but you are also putting your child at risk for getting sick from all the germs that are in your mouth that you are then passing on to him/her. It is NOT ok to “clean” a pacifier in your mouth. Who taught you people this? And don’t come back and say it was a dr b/c no legit dr. is going to tell you something ridiculous like passing germs to your child is perfectly fine and normal, go ahead and do it, unless their whole goal is to get you back in the dr. office to make more money. But then you were in the ped office to begin with so maybe you should ask yourself about why your child had gotten ill to begin with? Maybe b/c you put something in your mouth and then jammed it in your childs mouth? And if your dr did tell you this maybe you need to check that diploma and see if it came out of a Cracker Jack box. First of all, if you saw the video, she had it in her mouth while she was still in her car parking. If this was jayden’s pacifier, why did she take it with her shopping when she only had Sean? also, why didn’t she giver it to her “assistant” to hold on to since she apparently had a purse? or why not leave it in her car?
I never put that part of the pacifer in my mouth.. the other side that doesn’t go in your childs wouth..you can hold that part in your teeth keeping the other side strictly your childs.. in a pinch.. never put their part in your mouth..esp if you are Brittney..God only knows where her mouth has been.

i just want to say that i’m a dentist, and moms putting their kids pacifiers in their mouths to ‘clean’ them is a fairly common practice. however, we strongly advice against it, since a grown-up’s mouth carries bacteria that a child’s mouth doesn’t, and they could end up getting cavities or even worse things by doing this. moms are surprised when they come in the office and we tell them not to do this, because they’ve seen people do it and think it’s ok, but it’s really bad for a child’s oral health. i’m not jumping on britney, since she’s a normal person she might think it’s fine, but it’s really not, i hope she would take her kids to a dentist and then she could be better informed.
She will do anything for attention! I don’t see why everyone is so interested in her. She is so over!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! im a mother of a 3 year old girl, and i would NEVER do something like that. my daughter used pacifier for a period time and if she drop it i would clean it up with water or baby whipes, if i didnt have anything on hand i put it away but putting in my mouth, even though im the mother thats nasty. why we never see brit caring a baby backpack?, i mean, she should have bottles, diapers, baby whipes, extra clothing. i assuming that sean diaper must really smell

What do you mean LEAVE her ALONE? You are hiding your head in the sand. She takes her son shopping for adult clothing on one of the most well known streets in LA? Calculated move? I’d say so. She looks filthy like she hasn’t watched that rat’s nest she calls hair in weeks. Her clothes don’t fit, the shoes are horrendous and she takes that baby out. She knows what the paps are like. She should have left him home and not gone shopping and spent some quality time with the kid instead of providing him for a guarenteed photo op.
I think that everyone needs to leave Britney alone and leave her in peace. Her children need her to be their mother and not worry about the paparazzi being there 24/7. She’s only human. Let her be! Thanks
It isn’t Jayden’s pacifier. If you watch the video on X170nline you will see that she is in the car and she has it in her hand in the front seat and then she puts it in her mouth and sucks on it and then drives off with it in her mouth. It is Britneys pacifier people. She is just straight up screwed in the head.
dude.. she’s a mom, she’s just cleaning it. there are most likely millions of mothers who do that. it’s a form of cleaning it! just like mom’s chew up certain foods and then give it to their kids so they don’t choke.

After watching other video of this she isn’t cleaning it. She sucks on it through the store and also while she is driving. She actually looks right at the photogs while sitting in the car almost as if she is posing for them to get the pic of it in her mouth.
One eye blue the other brown sucking on a pacifier. Just more and more she seems like she needs serious therapy. At what point is it too much? How mentally ill does someone need to act before something is done?
Parents suck on pacifiers (aka as dummies in the UK) all the time, but only when it drops on the floor and they wash it first. Its something to do with the immune system in a baby not being as strong as an adult’s.
