Emile Hirsch - ‘Into the Wild’ Reviews

Sean Penn’s adaptation of John Krakauer’s nonfiction bestseller Into the Wild is like watching a suicide in slow motion. So why has it scored a whopping 85% on RottenTomatoes? Here’s why:

New York Times: “There is plenty of sorrow to be found in Into the Wild But though the film’s structure may be tragic, its spirit is anything but.”

Variety: “Sean Penn delivers a compelling, ambitious work that will satisfy most admirers of the book.”

Flick Filosopher: “The extraordinary Emile Hirsch is like Leonardo DiCaprio 10 years ago, all coiled intensity and wrapped-up irony…”

Into the Wild opens in theaters today! And be on the look-out for Emile — the 22-year-old actor beat out Zac Efron, Shia LaBeouf and Joseph Gordon-Levitt for the lead role in the live action film Speed Racer, out 2008.

Christina Ricci even came out to support her Speed Racer costar at the LA premiere of Into the Wild. She plays Trixie, Speed’s girlfriend.

I saw him on Oprah and he’s a winner. I hope somebody posts if they see the movie this weekend. I want to read the book first.

This is a real actor and notice he gets the least number of posts on this site. But he lets his talent speak for itself. He doesn’t resort to going to one red carpet event after another or tipping off the paparazzi to take pictures of him. More of him please and less of JLo or RBils or Hayden the cheerleader or Vanessa of HSM or whoever is getting overexposed in the tabs these days.

The book was amazing and I am almost afraid to watch the movie for fear they will screw it up. But I am hoping that the reviews are correct for once and they did it justice.

THE MOVIE WAS AWESOME!!!!!! I absolutely loved it. How anyone could say any performance was flat is beyond me. The characters were amazing. The casting was superb. A MUST SEE.
