Adrianne Curry: “Boycott Black History Month!”

I sort of agree, but then again, she is wrong in so many ways. I wish that we could get rid of all these months dedicated to a certain race, but if we did, those races would be completely forgotten when it comes to their contribution to society today.

The reason we have Black History month is so that our teachers can teach us about the black people that helped society because our text books don’t seem to cover any of that. History books today are White Man’s history. I want Adrianne to talk about that before she starts talking about ending black history month.

And news flash to miss smarty pants, there are months dedicated to loads of races. I think it’s Spaniish Heritedge month this month. So she can shove it.

We want a national conjoined twins month.

Or two.

Adrianne Curry is a typical little white girl.

She’s so naive and so stupid. She thinks she has the right to say whatever just because she’s partially well-known and because she’s white. She acts like what she’s proposing will make a huge difference in out world when all she’s doing is starting up more fights. White people are all the same. They’re always talking about how they want equality and peace between different races. And then they go and speak out agains having a specific month set out to celebrate the differences of a specific race. She needs to shut her pretty little mouth up.

First of all, her entire rant is a sign of her misguidedness and ignorance. Someone needs to send this girl back to school. There is a month for every heritage out there in the United States. Hispanics, Asians, Blacks and more. Yet she goes out of her way to target BLACK History Month, BLACK channels. Her statement would make a little more sense if she complained about ALL the segragation between races when it comes to months. However, she aims only for the black race. That was her first mistake.

Second of all, instead of complaining about why we have a specific month for every race, she should complain about why we do not celebrate EVERY race EVERY DAY. Believe it or not, there is still a lot of racism against african-americans, hispanics, asians, people of different colors and races in the United States. In the entire WORLD. Before she speaks out on such a controversial issue, she should know her facts as well. That was her second mistake.

Third, every race has it’s own TV channel. There are at least two Hispanic channels on Dish Network, every other channel is predominantly a white channel, there’s a Chinese channel, an Indian channel, a Native American channel, and so forth. African American’s are not the only race celebrated, however they DO deserve to be celebrated. Every race deserves to be celebrated, every day. Proclaiming that no races should have their own channels, but only planning to boycott one particular channel of one particular race (BET, a BLACK channel) was her third and final mistake.

That girl made a huge mistake when she decided to rant about the unfairness of Black History Month. I garuntee if she were black, she’d have no problem with it. She’s proving that months like Black History Month are still needed because there are people out in the world that are STILL racist, her included. But Miss Adrianne Curry can shove it up her big, fake white ass for all I care. Black History Month isn’t going anywhere.

In a way I agree with her. Everybody should have an ethnic history month. The Germans, Italians, Asians, Native Americans, Hawaiians, Japanese, all of these ethnicities should have a month to celebrate their heritage and culture along with the many hispanic pride holidays and black history month. I feel black history month shouldn’t be banned, I think every race deserves a month’s holiday like black history month.

I LOVE THE WAY YOU PUT IT, I COULDN;T OF DID A BETTER JOB!

The language we use is so powerful. By denoting a Black History month, we are stating that African Americans are different and thereby require a separate month to be celebrated. It should be American History, and it should include all the great people that make up this country from all parts of the world. Better yet, have it be World History month and celebrate greats from all over our little planet.

Note to (30) margaret: St. Patrick’s day is not about celebrating a Saint, in USA it’s become drink as much beer as you can day. Christmas has become Shop As Much As You Can Season. Valentine’s has become You’re A Loser If You Don’t Have a Partner Day.

As a culture we need rituals and celebrations, but all of ours have been stolen big box corporations. Let’s celebrate in our families, in our communities in small and great ways all the milestones and shared losses that make up who we are in all our myriad different cultures and flavors.

Honestly this is a subject that I would probably NEVER have thought of in my life - and must congratulate Ms. Curry for stimulating the recessess of my mind with an out of the blue jolt and helping me to now focus on the really important agenda of the day!

It’s the NAACP’s worst nightmare for blacks and whites to actually get along, as it would mean there is no more need for their existence. It’s the so-called black leaders and “the community” who keep tension and hate stirred up because it justifies people like Jesse Jackson’s and Al Sharpton’s diatribes and attention whoring. These losers have made an entire career off spouting racist garbage.

And excuse me, but to the person who is screaming about this country being built by blacks, um no. Wrong. It was built by everyone. Blacks were not the only ones working, and only about 8-10% of white Southerners owned slaves. The rest were poor and lived in worse conditions than the black slaves. This country was built on the ingenuity of all the immigrants that came here.

And the majority of blacks don’t know jack about slavery and how it really was because you are taught about it from a revisionist perspective. The high school history books are wrong. To find out the truth you have to go and read diaries and letters in dusty old archives. Did you know slaves could earn money? That they often purchased their own freedom? Were taught in many cases to read and write? That under the task-oriented system of labor in the Carolina Lowcountry, most slaves didn’t work past noon? That old people didn’t work, pregnant women didn’t work, children didn’t work? That there were (GASP!) black people that owned slaves? That as early as the 1840’s, many slaveowners were manumissing (granting them their freedom) to many slaves because there were too many of them to feed clothe and shelter? That’s right, they just let them go. That the most complete slave on a plantation was the Plantation Mistress? That there are letters written among planters that discuss converting to a wage system decades before the Civil War? That the North pushed the South into the war due to the high tariffs that began in 1827(by 1857, a full 80% of tax revenues collected from the federal government came from the southern ports of Norfolk, Charleston, Savannah, Mobile, and New Orleans? No wonder they were pissed! Look it up.

You can read slave account after slave account taken in the 1930’s that shows the elderly slaves clearly felt life was better before the war. They also tell of having to shoo poor white children away from the cabin door who were looking for a handout. The slaves had food, and their families did not.

I could go on and on, because I know the real history. Native Americans were enslaving each other long before the first Africans and Europeans set foot on this continent, by the way. No, it doesn’t justify what was done to Native Americans, but when it comes to slavery, there are far too many blacks who think they are the only people who have ever suffered, that slavery was something purely invented by the white man to perpetuate upon the black man, and that is just plain not true. The Vikings were the biggest slave traders of the Ancient World, and they were dealing in people with red and blonde hair and blue eyes. The word “slave” comes from “Slav”. The Slavic countries were the prime hunting grounds, and in those days, a typical slave had blonde hair and blue eyes. In the Roman Empire, you had far more dark-skinned people who owned light-skinned people than the other way around.

If you think that white people went into the jungles of Africa and conked black people on the head and drug them onto ships, then you are sadly mistaken. Blacks hunted and sold each other. Blacks sold their enemies into slavery for huge profits. If you want to blame someone for it, blame the black Africans who were trading in each other as human cargo centuries before the Europeans got involved. The Arabs were the first to go into to Africa with the express purpose of removing slaves to the middle east. Again, look it up. DO some homework and educate yourself.

Oh, and Frederick Douglass is a liar. For one, he wrote stories in his little propaganda paper about how his poor sainted mother died a horrible death, she was neglected, blah, blah, blah…when in reality she lived out her life being taken care of and lived to an old age.

If we knew then what we know now, we would have picked our own damn cotton. Which, by the way PLENTY of white people did.

I am sick to death of hearing about how black people don’t have the same opportunities as whites. That’s the biggest load of crapola ever. There are more special allowances and entitlement programs set aside for blacks than anybody else. There are more standards lowered for blacks than anybody else. They get more second chances and do-overs than anybody else. In this day and age, there is no excuse and no one to blame but their own selves.

When one feels the need to comment on a certain issue..it helps t take a look back at history and understand why teh history months were created. I believe there is Native AMerican month and a pacific something mothn.,..so dont understand how teh chinese feel neglected..afterall some folks just got on the train and MADE descision to move to AMERICA. Not all peopel came of their own accord..

There are those who will agree with Adrian and I have no issue with that, however I respect those who know AMERICAN (including the one they left our till recently) history and can put thier argument in perspective..

Yeah, we all wish for an AMERICAN MONTH but such as the society is, its nearly impossible..some races have to be reminded that the other races they cohabit with are also important and have similar needs…

Its funny how people speak *blog - b4 they even educate themselves.

There are too many fine lines in beliefs and racism…

Fight for what you want/believe in, but don’t knock someone else down to get there.
