Brad & Angelina in Washington DC

Brad Pitt paid a surprise visit to The Washington Post’s newsroom on Friday to research his upcoming role as an investigative reporter in State of Play, a Washington-based drama about hard-nosed journos trying to solve the murder of a young political staffer.

Brad and State of Play director Kevin Macdonald lunched with Post execs and reporters, including military affairs and Pentagon reporter Josh White and investigative reporter James Grimaldi.

Angelina Jolie was busying meeting with Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice to discuss her recent trip to Iraq and Syria.

Angelina Jolie was busying meeting with Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice to discuss her recent trip to Iraq and Syria.

i first thought this was a joke? in fact, i’m still not sure…

Andro—now I can relax, our team is blowing them way…Of course I would have told hubby with or w/o pic evidence  Poor, dear man was taking care of three kids when I was gone almost two months on a business trip all over Europe….But, he knows me too well, I love to have fun period. That day obviously France won and people were out on the streets and in cars waving flags, sooooo these drunk kids dragged me in to a bar with my heels and suit and all I went with the flow. Oddly enough I have no clue how I made it back to my room at Best Western

max—thanks for the link!!!!

julia–a bait from a troll :-) JMHO!!!!

I see. So the visit could be a briefing to the Council which Rice and Powell are members. That makes sense. I never doubted Angie intelligence I just was surprised by what looks like a “partisan preference.”

I WONDER IF COLIN WILL BE WITH ANGIE AT CLINTON’S FORUM NEXT WEEK -I HOPE SO

Wake Up!! the Bush Administration doesn’t give a **** about Iraqi Refugees that’s why they destroyed and bombed Iraq to begin with and without regard to loss of human life and infrastructure.

It makes Bush Admin. look good to be in the press meeting with a psuedo celeb humanitarian like AJ. That way her celeb psuedo humanitarian glow can rub off on them.

AJ went to Iraq for what 2 days, that doesn’t make her an expert on the situation there by a long shot. If they administration was really serious they would meet with experts..you know people that run the refugee camps that WORK AND DO SOMETHING BESIDES POSE FOR THE CAMERAS WITH THE POOR REFUGEES.

……..

Good point.

As an Ambassador to the UN on Refugee affairs, AJ maintains impartiality where politics are concerned. This present administration has the means to fund relief for Refugees. That is why she made a statement about not endorsing any political candidate for the next election. Orphan children and Refugees in other countries need relief and aid but political side taking. AJ visited to Iraq help facilitated 30 million dollars for relief for the Refugees in Iraq. She has also been beneficial in lobbying aid for Orphan children through her children’s organization with congress. As a member of the Foreign Council, she briefs Secretary of state, Ms Rice and Colin Powell on her visit and work together in finding ways to alleviate many of the Refugee problems. Refugees are a sad byproduct of wars and civil unrest. If a person such as AJ can bring attention to their plight, then this is a good thing. Peace

Puzzle of the week: Why do so many X fans have such terrible writing skills? Were they all dropped on their heads as babies?
——————————————————
I believe it’s because there really are not many of them. I’ve reached the sad conclusion that there are most likely only one or two, pathologically sick, obese, women, sitting in their trailers, greasy fingers all over the keyboard, foaming at the mouth as they spew their angry bile against the JP’s. They are to be pitied, as it’s quite obvious that their only source of information about the JP’s must come from those trashy tabs. These individuals with their low mental capacities are most likely unable to understand words with more than two syllables, and probably believe that Darfur is somewhere east of Pittsburg. They prefer to remain in their blissful ignorance and stick with their reading material of big glossy pictures, 24 point headlines, and lots of exclamation marks!!!!!
Actually,

I agree in part to what you are saying except for the camera part. Angie has been doing this for years so I think she is “well informed” of the plights of refugees.

As for Condi and Bush Admin, I agree with you. I am puzzled by her visit. Unless Angie’s purpose is to lobby for or raise money for the programs she wants to implement.

_________

Yeah you know if they were serious about the issue they would meet with REAL officials and DO SOMETHING. I am SURE the BUSH ADMINISTRATION IS WELL INFORMED ABOUT REFUGEES IN IRAQ, because they started the war etc.

I understand Angelina cares about these people but she is not an EXPERT. sorry this is not meant to insult her but point out the real motivations and actions of the CORRUPT Bush administration.

Orphan children and Refugees in other countries need relief and aid NOT political side taking.

too funny and so true mrs.smith

388 UNUNU : 09/22/2007 at 5:35 pm

I didn’t say she was an Expert just well informed. I think she knows she is not an expert that is why she hired that guyy..I forgot his name, sorry. But I will say she certainly knows more than me on the subject.

____________

Refugees and Orphans needs TOP OFFICIALS TO MEET WITH REAL EXPERTS.
NOT CELEBRITY SPOKESPERSON.

Maybe if the gov officials actually took time from lobbying to travel to Syria and see with their own eyes instead of relying
on 2nd hand reports from ACTORS
the war would be less of a failure
and disorganized mess.

IT’s their job to visit these places firsthand
and MEET WITH QUALIFIED ADVISORS NOT ACTORS.

On the contrary — the Bush administration is as clueless about the refugee situation in Iraq as it is about everything else.

LOL! Where do they think they are?

I don’t know if there was a LA screening or not but it wouldn’t surprise me if they try and keep the event quiet after the chaos in Venice and TIFF. They changed dates last minute for New York AMH premier and it worked really well. Maybe photos will surface soon?

I think that AJ is more than quailified. She has been an Ambassdor to the UN since 2001. She is an intelligent and well read woman. If trolls would read up on a few things rather than ranting off the cuff, then they would know this. I think that AJ accomplishments speak for itself. She is just performing her duties as a UN Ambassador. She is not the only one and is highly regarded with the UN. However, feel free to continue to debate. I am done. Peace.

thank God the movie is doing so good,i went to the movies yesterday but it was not playing, earlier in the morning some stupid trolls really went at it,it was brutal, why are the trolls so lame

what is this c-span-lol-angie works for the UN as an amassador for UNHRC,she is more than qualified to speak on the subject-pam anderson, jennifer aniston, jessica alba, eva longoria are all actors, but i’ll take angie’s view point over these air heads.

388 UNUNU—-well honey!!!! I usually stay away from politics and religion at JJ’s site but you pushed my buttons.
What the fcuk did the BUSH administration do other than start a WAR for the purpose of gaining more OIL money for him and his oil company friends who helped elect him??? Which killed sooooo many of OUR innocent kids let alone over 50K innocent Iraqies in a war based on LIES!!!!!!!!!! Please don’t even goooooo, if yu can not accept the fact that this war had absoluetly nothing to do with 9/11 and Osama is still live and well and still a threat….Sooooo what did this admin. accomplish other than kill innocent people ?????????????????

I’m sick of people knocking AJ credibility. The people who say these things are obviously not well informed. Good thing the fans have read her book and acknowldge her achievements. It would be sad if the haters knew more about it than us.

piper, with a low @ 09/22/2007 at 5:52 pm

Jebus H…

Is anyone else fed up with ‘concerned’ people criticizing Angelina for doing something that has been in the works for months?

First, they go off about AMH when her portraying Mariane was in the works since early 2006; now, criticizing her for being a part of this think tank when it was thrown around since last winter.
