Emmy Rossum - “Slow Me Down” Music Video
The Emmy Rossum “Slow Me Down” Music Video was just released! It’s the first single off Emmy’s upcoming ambient pop album, out Oct. 23.
Emmy talked a little about the video at the Teen Choice Awards last month: “We were shooting a different speeds because the song’s about the pace of life and to create the blur of the world and how overwhelming that can be.”

I like it! Its so different from her counterparts! Cool and refreshing….Well done!
Emmy is pretty…a cross between Keira Knightley and Kelly Clarkson appearance-wise, and her voice is awesome, but like some people have already mentioned, the video rather sucked, and the synthesizing of the various voice layers sort of put the song into a technological overkill.
That’s not to say it was a bad song, but in its production there were a few bad decisions made.
The lyrics are very well composed, the melody is beautiful and unique, and the harmonies added complexity to a rather simple song. I have no doubt it was very fun for her to record!
Lullabye is a much better-composed song of hers.
October 23, 2007 is her album release date!!!
I’m sorry…I just listened to Imogen Heap’s latest album and it sounds absolutely NOTHING like this…For one, Emmy used absolutely no instruments in this song: it is simply her voice synthesized and layered. Imogen’s sound is much different. Emmy leans toward a new age classical whereas Imogen is more of an alternative pop/punk sound. Sure, she has her voice synthesized and layered in a few songs, but it’s not like it’s a copywrite violation to use that method. Are you going to sue artists for both playing the guitar, too? Or for using the same loop?
Why people insist on comparing an artists style with another before considering each individually isn’t fair. Emmy’s sound also reflects a lot of Enya-like influence. So what? She took what she liked and flew away with it to make it her own.
Kudos to Emmy. Keep it up. I just reserved her album.

Okay, everyone who said she sounds like something else…who the f*** cares! Everybody sounds like someone else..quit being a bunch of elitists and enjoy the music for what it is..Her voice. It doesn’t matter if she’s beautiful or not, her voice is beautiful, appreciate the gift. Who gives a shite if she sounds like Imogen…Imogen sounds like a lot of women…get over it people, every genre of music and every voice is going to sound like something else!

I LOVE THIS SONG. It describes me and my life so much!! And I’m sure it describes A LOT of other peoples lives too. As to those who think the tune is too much of a repeat…MOST songs in the world now-a-days sound like they all have the exact same tune. Trust me. If you take the time to listen, you’ll definitely hear it. Even when I try to make up songs, it is so hard to try and come up with a new tune. In the end, I just give up.
Hey give Emmy a break guys. Shes just starting out and I thinks shes done really good. She was AMAZING in The Phantom of the Opera, but maybe this is the style she likes. The music video was extremely eye appealing, but it didnt give the song a whole lot of meaning. Her voice has acctually taught me how to sing and always inspires me. Good job Emmy, and I hope you keep making albums, making them better and better as you go because there are so many out there that want to hear more.
P.S. Emmy Rossum and Gerald Butler sound SO great together!

i personally love this song. its just one of those songs when you are haveing a bad day and you listen to it, it just kind of calms you down so you can take a breather and fix your problems.

I saw a dance studio do a contemporary piece to this song and it was great. The music just made me want to get up and dance with them. Love it!
Emmy is trying to express the busy-ness of life has moving at a pace that is too fast to pay attention to love. She is calling out to that special one and asking him to slow her down and help her not to let love pass her by. She is not interested in the fly by night romance. She wants monogomy centered on real love.
