Angelina Jolie @ Clinton Global Initiative
Angelina Jolie announces a significant $148 million initiative to help educate children in conflict areas at the Clinton Global Initiative on Wednesday in New York City — the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.
“Education can transform the lives of children in conflict, giving them the tools to create a better future for their families and their nations,” explained Angie, who co-chairs the Education Partnership with Gene Sperling, Director of the Center for Universal Education at the Council on Foreign Relations. “This Partnership is putting words into action,” Angie explained, “and demonstrating that even in the most difficult circumstances, every child can and should have a chance to learn.”
The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict will include:
– 18 Commitments from 19 World Renowned Organizations and Individuals in 15 Countries
– Commitments to improve educational opportunities for 1+ million conflict-affected children including (1) 350,000 out-of-school children in conflict-affected regions to be given an opportunity to attend school and (2) Improve the learning environment, safety, materials and teacher quality of another 690,0000 children in conflict affected regions
– The commitments will assist 200,000 Iraqi refugee children and aid than 300,000 children affected by the Darfur genocide.

Wow, Angie looks so lovely and so distinguished as a panelist. I really really admire her and Brad for immersing themselves in these causes. Who gives a sheet what those trolls says? At the end of the day, they can look at themselves in the mirror and be proud of what they are doing to help make the world a better place.
Angie Looks sooooo gorgeous!
I am definately supporting her new campaign.
Gotta love her!

SHE LOOKS WAY TOO BEAUTIFUL IN PIC NUMBER 5,15.
“This Partnership is putting words into action.” I love this statement. She went to see the needs of the Iraqi refugee children and lo and behold, they are getting some much needed funding to continue their education and other things. I’m not saying it’s just her doing, but I am pretty confident that she had a lot to do with it. She brought to light a serious problem and a few weeks later, something is being done. She definitely walks the walk and I too, am SOOOO proud to be her fan!
We’re very proud of her.
OH GOD WHO CARES ABOUT TROLLS,They are both glowing in the world.GOD PLEASE KEEP BLESSING THEM.It is so good to be their fans these days.we proud of you both.brad and angie.
SHE’S CRYING!!! :(
oh man, the story she just told about the man and lil boy is making me cry
the story of the kid in syria was SO sad :(

She’s so fierce, bold and brave…

WHY YOU HATE THIS WOMAN ?
SHE HAS NO REASON TO BE HATE.
thank you jared…
Angie is doing such a wonderful job.
The story that Angie told about the little boy and the man made me cry.
Valentino, was a refugee, his story is making me cry.
She is being brilliant! As always…And I’m so pleased to see Valentino Deng there!! He’s a figther, a winner, a survivor: the kind of person who gives hope the world can be better and that our kids can see a more friendly society. Jolie became very emotional and I’m getting too…Night!

Valentino thinks Power struggles, not religion is the problem in his country. My heart is full. What a wonderful, warm ,soft spoken and well spoken man.
Angelina is an amazing person. In this lifetime, I might not see again a person like Angelina Jolie. Sure there’s a lot of humanitarian people out there, even from the celebrity part of this world, but you can count on your finger the people that actually go there, where these suffering is going on and witness and touch the reality of these suffering.
I’m so amaze because this woman have the ability to give charities by distance, but she choose to be there and witness and learn and help these people and make a difference with their lives.
Even myself, I cannot do it. God bless this woman when she found the right direction. she really took and done more than she expected to do.

Valentino is building a school in Sudan, he needs donations/funds. Wonderful, beautiful maan.
Thanks for the thread Just Jared. I am watching the panel now. AJ story about the man and little boy was heartbreaking. She gets involved and has visted more countries than people in our government. She is truly an inspiration as well as all the other people on the panel.
If you have the opportunity to listen to what is going on, you won’t even be able to pay attention to haters again. The haters are a pure waste of time. There are too many problems going on in this world and we can connect to help one another, instead of hating each other. I commend Pres. Clinton for putting this together.
Who cares what she looks like the woman has class and brains. She is a great role model.
Angie is absolutely amazing, I’m crying my eyes out when she talked about the man with maggots and the boy she thought would have been a good doctor.
Thank you Angie, if I wasn’t your fan I probably wouldn’t have tuned in to watch this. And I like many others would continue to be ignorant about issues such as refugees and take for granted the importance of education for all.
Angelina is listening and enjoying Valentino’s optimism.
Angelina hears and listens.

aj has got the most BEAUTIFUL EYES i’ve ever seen!
Angelina just finished her commentary about her trip in Iraq and Syria. She gave a very flawless and awesome remarks about her recent trip. Very natural, and I didn’t see a trace of nervousness, although towards the end of her declaration, she felt emotional and fot teary-eyed, I thought tears will actually let go of her beautiful and natural very light make up faxe.
when you hear her speak about what she’s witnessed, her not caring about tabloid crap makes so much sense

Respect for this woman.
Angelina is saying how lucky we have men like Valentino ,and he is such a great example. ,applause.

Absolutely.
TP, she told a story of a young man she met on the camps who had been set on fire for religious reasons and had fled to Syria. His wounds were infected and he was begging on the streets. Everybody ignored him and was repulsed by his wounds. He had no medical care or friends to help him. There he met a young eight-year old boy, very poor, who sold tissues on the streets for a living.
The first guy offered the boy some of his beeging money if he helped clean the wounds. When the boy took the bandages off, there were lots of maggots and he fled away, frightened. But afterwards he came back and helped the other guy.
When Angie met them, the two boys had been together in the camp for four months, the younger one taking care of the other. Agie asked him if he wanted to be a doctor, he was such a natural, and the kid said: “but I have to sell tissues”. Survival was too important for him to understand any other future would ever be available.
Angie is the epitome of Beauty and Grace, and She is even more beautiful on the inside.
She has a huge heart.
where are the pix of brad’s mini speech?
Álvaro Uribe President Republic of Colombia is speaking of illegal drugs hurts education for the children in his country.
Angie said I took three kids to school today who were not too thrilled.
Zahara and Pax must go to school in NY too.
dont mind the trollz peeps.they just suffered a brain hemorrhage of jealousy.
Man, this is some deep stuff. Drugs, power struggles, nutrition, etc…
It’s just not about education. It’s about obstacles to education as
much as education.
Amazing woman :D
This is making a difference in action. Wish we could be a little bit like her. Thanks JJ for the pictures. Keep them coming.
MUCH Respect
Tabloids in America have dumbed down the senses of people about who Angelina is. This woman is far ahead of her contemporaries, my goodness. Never pay a cent for tabloid to tell you a thing about this woman again. It is total injustice to her image. On the other hand, the type of things that she and Brad do would not even allow their heads to be in tabloids. It’s like day and night.
Host has ask AJ about people who want to help info on what a peson/people can do. She is saying security for girls is an issue etc,,. They Look for people who are already doing great work,. and certainly have people give help to them ,she is an elegant speaker.

host tells a profound story from Hawaii, he thanks the panel applause.
WE LOVE YOU ANGIE; YOU’VE SUCH BIG HEART. GOD WILL BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ALWAYS.
She’s so compassionate . You can tell she really feels for the refugees she’s trying to help. I loved that line . ‘Their minds ‘, thats all they have. That was such a touching story .
She’s so wonderful wanting to help this boy to become a doctor !
Thank Goodness for the Clinton Global Initiative!!! She is the best UNHCR ambassodor there is and she is so respected by everyone on the panel . Personally ,this is political red carpet premier for me . Am going to watch the video again.
Thanks LOL for the link.
Im so proud of Angie and the other people the did a great job.
Angelina looks so sleek in her suit, she talks to Mohammed Haneef Atmar and she/they walk off,,its over.
I am so disappointed that I cannot see Angie’s speech as I’m at work today.
If anybody can get it to youtube that would be so wonderful.
As I read the comments about Angie’s eloquence, and empathy, with all that she has seen on her UNHCR missions, I get all teary eyed as I’m always so in awe of her fiercesome spirit to help others, and I am, as always, so PROUD to be her fan.

LOL I was thinking the same but I don’t think she will go into politics as she is smart enough to know that she can do much more without any political allegiance to any party.
I can’t open the video. She is an amazing woman. I hope to see the video.
Whatever of course its sad to visit refugee camps. Her crying and tears took up soooo much that the Afghan Education Minister had no time to talk. Bad moderator. I would rather here from Afghan Minister than some celebrity wannabe.
Thank goodness the server problems were fixed. I was able to watch her and the other panelists. She is a beautiful, wonderful, intelligent, compassionate, strong, classy, dilligent, dedicated woman. She received the loudest applause after each of her speeches. She was so gracious. And she really listens when the others were speaking. She and Brad are doing good things. May they continue to be strong. May they be blessed in all of their efforts. May their children grow healthy and strong knowing that they are truly loved. Peace.

What is wrong with the side of her face? Other than that, her acting skills come in handy memorizing what to say.

# 124 Kate- I’m second motion on that…LOL
Just finished watching the plenary on education…all the speakers were engaging and so well informed.
Angelina was great. She fit right in even with the ‘big names and titles’ on the panel. She was professional and well versed, but also very personable. Good for her, must have been somewhat nervous wracking, but she didn’t show it :)
After watching the session I have to say that I feel utterly embarrassed for people who write for as well as buy into rag gossip. Angelina is much more than her tabloid portrayal, she’s intelligent, caring and dedicated to her family and to the issues she believes in. It’s sad that people intentionally choose to ignore these characteristics and instead prefer to live in tabloid LA - LA land and made judgments about her and her life based on these stories. As I said before they should be embarrassed, I’m embarrassed for them.

Angelina always said she wants to be remembered as a humanitarian rather than as an actor. It’s nice to see she has her priorities straight.
Angie was great! She held her own in that panel and you can just see the moderator was very impressed and very solicitous of her. Maybe now they’ll write something more positive about her at NYT. Also of Brad of course as they are partners in the JP Foundation.
She was up there as co-chair of the JP Foundation, as ambassador to the UNCHR, as a member of the CFR. Plus she’s an award winning actress to boot. She wore many hats today and she wore them all with style and class.
And just think, she’s one heck of a busy mother too.
Go Angie! Go JPs! Proud to be your fan!
#145 Dina#1 - I was sort of thinking the same thing - but also wanted to thank Bill Clinton for inviting Angie and Brad to the sessions and asking them to speak. People like Bill Clinton need to know that Angie and Brad are truly appreciated for their work and that people want to see them speaking out more and more. If they are made aware that people are paying more attention to an event like the CGI Annual Meeting because of their attendance, then they will be invited back and asked to speak at more events.
And of course the other way we can all support the work that Angie and Brad are doing is by continuing to support the organizations that they do.
Engaging TROLLS is not in the fans agenda today.

Damn she looks old and haggard for a supposed 32 year old.
============================
it’s the wages of sin showing on her face.
========
So you must look PERFECT since you’re so sinless?? Geez. If I hate a celeb, I IGNORE their threads. Why don’t you do the same? I can’t stand Lindsay, Jennifer Aniston, Paris Hilton, etc.. But I NEVER go to their threads cause it’s pointless. Get a life loser!

MORE PHOTOS OF ANGIE
NOT ARE HER BEST PHOTOS REALLY, BUT THE IMPORTANT WAS WHAT SHE SAID.
I think we should do a donation in the name of the fans here, for brad’s and angie’s projects. They are an inspiration and it’s about time to show how we can help.
I am watching the news and Bill Clinton announced earlier today that Norway has committed 1 Billion dollars towards the CGI and the various organizations represented at the Annual Meeting. It will save 2 million lives. I hope that this spurs other countries on to upping their contributions.
Ew, her legs.
MOISTURIZE ANGIE!
Your face is too nice to let it get wrinkled like a raisin.
Thanks Coal for the link….you rock!
ROTFLMFBAO.
i really like Angie with a darker hair y’all.
Wenn has pixs of Angelina’s earlier press conference today.

Angie has one of the biggest hearts out there. Instead of just feeling sorry for those children she acually does something about it. :D Love her for that! She’s truly working hard to make the world a better place. What better way than to provide children, our future, proper education and a safer environment?

Brad was at Angelina’s plenary panel discussion.
I am soooo proud of them!!!! If anyone starts to talk about stupid tabloids and worry about what they say CAN NOT BE a FAN!!!!!
These two are so way above that trash, they have so much compassion, love, dedication and class that’s why the tabs and the trolls hate them. So be it…..
You can watcn both Papa Pitt and Mama Jolie at this link. Bradley at the ‘lunch’ 12 oclock…click on it (he is almost towards the end) and Angie at the 5:30 session as soon as LIVE NOW is taken off and then you can watch it…..
It is wonderful to be a JP Fan

angelina looks great in these photos and after hearing most of what her speech contained, i think everyone can see why she wants to help as many refugees that she can out there. she is truly an inspiration. i hope to one day help out in my own little way in these causes too. :-)
Can we concentrate on the content and the issues of today than how they “look”? This was not a red carpet appearance, for Pete’s sake.
They have indeed raised the bar, folks…let’s enjoy the information in the context in which it was delivered. They are trying to help people. Let’s grow up for just a minute, OK?
Finally after listing to angie today, I got why she doesn’t care about tabloids. I feel so stupid for actually caring or getting mad sometimes. The issues that are dear to her heart are at such different level and importance that there is no room for cheap tabbies. She’s amazing
Trolls = boringness and stupidity. Serious, there’s no patience for the same blah, blah… day after day…
Shoot I forgot the link…. Cr@p, give me a break I am emotional, proud and cried when Angie and the guy from Sudan talked, here it is….

even if she looks 80..it doesn’t matter to us fans…we’re not that superficial..she’s got a big heart and a big bank account…AND she uses both for the good of others!!!
She also did this:
From AlertNet.org:
There was an atmosphere of joy and jubilation in Largo refugee camp last week when 50 Liberian refugee women each received a sewing machine after successfully completing a sewing skills course, funded by UNHCR’s goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie.
“Today, our dreams have come true and for this we are very grateful. When we came to the camp, we did not know anything. But, with the skills that we have learned, we now know how to sew both for children and adults, we can return to Liberia and will be able to do something on our own,” said Sangay Kawala on behalf of the trainees. At the graduation ceremony the refugees sang songs in praise of Angelina Jolie and UNHCR. The Goodwill Ambassador donated the funds for the sewing courses in four refugee camps in Sierra Leone, including buying some of the sewing machines distributed to participants.
Hi again, Estelle you Bampzsie, thanks for Revealing……all , its such a kick , isn’t it?
Had been waiting all week for Angie’s time at the CGI and her panel discussions. Really, can’t wax poetic enough over all she’s done .
What an amazing woman !!! There is no other like her!
Have yet to see the evening session and then hobble over to watch Brad’s speech.

Well at least she is doing something good with her fame. Her face looks very beautiful, the only thing that it’s not very flattering; it’s her hair, it’s messy! But besides that, she looks very beautiful!!

Liar.. You were in Jen’s thread till yesterday. Talk about Hypocrisy! Apply yourself first then lecture others.
Why become as shallow as the trolls. We can close are eyes and hear Angelina’s words and she becomes 1000 times more beautiful than the next person.

I can look haggard and old anytime if I would look like her and an accomplished person like Angelina.
I am laughing my ass off at crazy ass cliniques avatar at the jjb.
198 Topaz- ITA with you on Angelina. She’s amazing, I have to watch the video again tonight ( my comp. at work doesn’t have any speaker).
Angelina is so refreshing! so unlike other celebrities who drown themselves in make up for an appearance. I think she has found her inner peace and strength and thats the glow we are seeing.
hello ladies!
wonderful day indeed for us j-p fans. i have only seen brad’s speech but not angie’s but reading from your posts, especially guli’s (do i really need to prepare a hanky? ;) ), i am really proud of them, proud that I’m their fan, & proud of our cyber community.
I want to add my opinion. She is a goddess. Thanks AJ. You are truly an inspirational. Keep up the good work. We AJ fans are behind you 100%.
One of the reasons… Haters keep saying that Angelina looks old; it’s because Angelina has NOT have many flaws in her face. Yes, she has a very beautiful face, so saying that she looks “old” or whatever… it’s the only thing that Haters can came out to attack this woman, who has a flawless face! But lets be honest… Angelina don’t looks old! That statement is ridiculous!
And this coming from a person who is NOT even a fan of hers (neither i’m a fan of Brad or Jen) but i’m telling the truth!
So yeah, Angelina looks very good in this pics, but the only thing that it’s NOT good; it’s her messy hair!
Angie’s hair is just fine.
SHE’S WONDERFUL.

Angie and President Clinton .
God Bless this wonderful woman and her family!
i wouldn’t be surprised if she were up for a NObel Peace Prize one of these days. She is an amazing, beautiful lady, both inside and out.
I miss Clinton and the Clinton years.
I am certain most of you have seen the movie Gladiator? Remember the first scene wjen they lining up to fight the Germans? Marcus Maximus says to his generals about the Germans, “Some people don’t know when they are defeated.” This can be said about the trolls. They don’t know when they are defeated. This people are so above the petty name calling the trolls do and the lies printed by the tabs. Calling her skinny, old looking, and whatever other childish name the trolls think will get a rise out of us is so petty and small mined. Brad is helping to rebuild a city. Angie is helping to save lives. There are bigger goals in their lives than pleasing the tabs and people they don’t know. The saddness is that some people will only hate them more. Not everyone, because we have seen that there are plenty of people who love them. But small minded and insecure people who either can’t exploit them, or don’t have the descipline to try and change their miserable lives to be like them. May Allah bless them and keep them strong. Peace they have peace in their lives and love in their hearts. Peace.
The AJ is old and haggard stuff is just the FFers losing their stuff because AJ is in the spotlight today. They are over posting enlarged shots that are unflattering. Ignore them!
Thanks to the person who posted the link to the clip of her speech. It was very moving..
219 What can I say?

lmao real original name. tomorrow they’ll be a bionic women on here. lol
Pitt on New Orleans: Make It Right
When it comes to rebuilding the Big Easy after Hurricane Katrina, Brad Pitt is putting his money where his mouth is.
Redoubling his efforts to help restore New Orleans to its glory days, the actor/do-gooder turned up at Wednesday’s meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City and announced plans to team up with real estate tycoon Steve Bing to create more than 150 affordable, eco-friendly homes in the Crescent’s City’s devastated Lower Ninth Ward.
The endeavor is the first program in Pitt’s new Make It Right project, which aims to revive the community and culture of one of New Orleans’ poorest neighborhoods, which was wiped out in September 2005 when floodwaters breached the levees and engulfed the city.
Pitt appeared at the third annual gathering of ex-President Bill Clinton’s nonprofit foundation, which seeks to bring together global leaders to work toward solving some of the world’s most pressing problems. The Ocean’s Thirteen star challenged attendees to support his campaign to make New Orleans livable again for displaced residents, many of whom don’t have the money to rebuild.
Pitt pledged to match $5 million in contributions to Make It Right, while Bing promised the same, bringing the total to $10 million in matching funds.
“The heart and soul of New Orleans, specifically the people of the Lower Ninth Ward, are paramount to this project,” said the 43-year-old actor.
“The words of one elderly man who is determined to return to New Orleans led to the name of our organization: He asked us, directly, simply and profoundly, to help make it right. So that’s what we’re doing. We’re going to help make it right with 150 sustainable, affordable houses—houses that stand out for their design both aesthetically and structurally, so that these people can live in beautiful safe structures that respect their spirit and provide a good quality of life.”
Make It Right will also provide a finance plan for residents who wish to return to the neighborhood without incurring huge debts.
“We’re prepared to break ground by the end of the year, but we need your help,” Pitt added.
This isn’t the first such New Orleans-centric initiative from Pitt, who is a part-time resident himself after he and partner Angelina Jolie purchased a home there last January.
The actor and architecture enthusiast launched a design competition in April 2006 with nonprofit Global Green USA. Underwritten with $100,000 of his own money, the contest sought plans for sustainable, low-income housing for the Lower Ninth. Pitt announced the winning design last September—on the first anniversary of Katrina—and paid a visit there a few weeks ago to check on the building progress.
He and Jolie also hosted an intimate Hamptons soiree in August that drew about 70 bigwigs to raise money for both campaigns.
Speaking of Jolie, the 32-year-old U.N. Goodwill Ambassador is set to meet in the Big Apple this week with Britain’s new foreign secretary, David Miliband, to discuss global diplomacy.
As for Pitt, when he’s not taking time out to save the world, the one-time Oscar nominee is hanging with pal George Clooney across the East River, shooting Burn Before Reading, a CIA spy caper comedy from the Coen brothers.
After that wraps, Pitt will then join forces with his fellow Fight Clubber, Edward Norton, for State of Play, a drama about a reporter caught up in a murder case involving a politician.
Pitt is also in talks to star in The Fighter, playing a disgraced boxer who turns his life around in time to mentor his half-brother (Mark Wahlberg) in a bid for a world title.
Pitt’s latest film, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, is now in theaters.
I feel your prayers for the Jolie-Pitts are especially powerful during this month of Ramadan. Thank you.

I am so proud of Angie and Brad, they are doing so much to help people that are in sore need of help; they are doing some incredible things, getting involve in causes that mean a whole lot to people. They are walking the walk and talking the talk. I am so glad to be a fan of theirs. They are truly amazing, inspiring, incredible, intelligent, caring, giving and loving human beings. And once again I am so glad to be a fan of theirs and I admire them so much.
And hooray to President Clinton, what an amazing organization he created, the CGI is helping a lot of people all over the world. He is an amazing man.
A small mystery. Angelina has on a couple of rings on her right hand in the yahoo pixs. One ring looks too small, like it doesn’t really fit that finger, like it really fits on another finger on another hand perhaps. Interesting is it not?
WELL ANGIE LOOKS REALY NICE AND SMART, EVEN WITH NOT MUCH MAKE UP ON SHE CAN STILL BE THE BEST IN THE ROOM.
211 no longer a lurker —-Yup you need them. She was so sincere and honest and when she told the story about a badly burnt man from Iraq who was trying to survive as a begger in Syria and 8 year old boy selling tissues , how they helped each other!!! ohhh man I was crying and she almost did as well.
But, the guy from Sudan who walked 800 miles to reach Ethiopia, his story was unbelievable. And guess what, he met Angie 4 weeks after 9/11/2001, he arrived 9/25/01 and in two weeks met Angie… and he brought that up……… The woman is amazing so is Bradley…OK, let me see if her video is up…BRB.
So proud of them — wonderful citizens.

The American people were really STUPID for re-electing Bush!!
Thank you to all the fans who posted the links to articles and pictures. It is so good to be a fan of these two amazing people isn’t it
when is ugly betty new season starts?
#209: Hello, NL. Our Angie was great.
One of the things I love about her is that she really doesn’t go overboard with the dressing up, the hair and the makeup when she goes to one of these things. (Heck, even in that party at the Hamptons or the premieres with Brad) She tries to downplay her beauty but she still stands out among the rest.
I wonder what she’d look like dressed and coiffed like Posh or Jlo?

I love this part, way to go Angie and so true:
“Education can transform the lives of children in conflict, giving them the tools to create a better future for their families and their nations,” explained Angie, who co-chairs the Education Partnership with Gene Sperling, Director of the Center for Universal Education at the Council on Foreign Relations. “This Partnership is putting words into action,” Angie explained, “and demonstrating that even in the most difficult circumstances, every child can and should have a chance to learn.”

Hiya Estelle, are you still at work? Thanks for all the info today, you made my day at work go faster and it was awesome to listen to Angie @ the CGI conference today, even though I could not see her, I could hear her :)
Definitely not pregnant.
I have always liked Angelina as an actress, but now I admire her for the woman she has become. I hope she continues with her humanitarian works, for she does make a difference. I, for one, have been donating to the causes and programs she supports.
God bless her and Brad and their beautiful children. Thank you, too, Jared for keeping us up to date with news about this wonderful couple.
248 Alexanderina- Hi Alex, I’m getting ready to go home now.

Love her. Love her much. What kind of a person wouldn’t love the Jolie-Pitts? Someone with a vendetta against gorgeous, talented, good-hearted, child-loving, passionate people who represent our country as well as one could hope for, per chance?
I guess I see their point. What if something like that caught on? What if more celebs started being unselfish and tried to make the world a better place for everyone? Where would we be then?!?!!
Thanks for all the Jolie-Pitt posts, please keep them coming!

Hello ladies of substance! It is a very proud day for Angie, Brad and us! They are the real deal and the whole world saw! I’m still having trouble seeing everything but from what I have, wonderful! Let the haters spew, let the naysayers say what they want! These two intelligent, caring, and beautiful people (not only on the outside) showed the world what they are truly made of. And I am in awe!
I’m also very proud of the BAMPZS fans here! We really are the real deal! We understand that just because a person or couple is beautiful, doesn’t make them worth our time! Ladies and sorry, gents of substance! Give all yourselves a pat on the back tonight! We know what is important, what matters and who can bring a spotlight to the troubles in this world and take an active part in trying to right them. Our very own Jolie Pitts!
Good night all long day at work!

I can’t began to described how moved I am from reading your comments on her speech. I’m very sorry to have missed it but I hope they’ll have a repeat segment later.
What Angie and Brad are doing is remarkable and I feel touched and inspired by them :). Especially Angie, she is most wonderful and I could sense her sincerity in all her works and efforts. For some reason, I remember a really good book that I’ve read a very long time ago, ‘The Power Of One’, the story was so moving and it touched a cord that you, even one person can make a difference. Angie works reminds me so much of the story :)
Hi BAMPZS fans all over the world :)

Clinton summit rallies climate, health, anti-poverty campaigners
Agence France-Presse
NEW YORK - Former US President Bill Clinton enlisted campaigners from Hollywood star Brad Pitt to Nobel peace prize winner Desmond Tutu Wednesday to help tackle some of the world’s most pressing problems.
The three-day Clinton Global Initiative on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly in New York brings together like-minded world leaders, celebrities and business titans from 72 countries for the third year running.
“We are faced with complex problems that government either is not solving or government alone cannot solve,” Clinton said as he opened the summit.
Among the most urgent problems, he said, were “climate change, global health epidemics, poverty and growing income equality and the lack of education.”
“We have to find ways to devote more time, money, skills, organization-building. We can help more people and save more lives if we do,” he said, adding: “We believe we can make a difference.”
Described by the Financial Times as an “annual feast of charitable giving, business networking and back-slapping,” the initiative last year yielded more than 7.3 billion dollars in pledges.
Norway set the ball rolling on Wednesday by promising one billion dollars to help fight infant mortality and childbirth deaths in the developing world.
“Today we launch a campaign to save millions of lives,” Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg told reporters.
“Close to 10 million children die each year of diseases for which there are inexpensive and effective remedies. Half a million young women die each year during pregnancy or in connection with childbirth,” he said.
“These facts are awful,” he added, describing the contrasting death rates in connection with childbirth in Norway of one in 30,000 and in some developing countries of one in seven as “unjust and unnecessary.”
Pitt unveiled a green building initiative for the hurricane-battered city of New Orleans, while his Hollywood sex-symbol partner, UN goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie, unveiled an initiative to help children in conflict zones.
The 148-million-dollar program would provide schooling for 350,000 children currently without access to education in conflict, post-conflict and emergency situations and improve the educational standards of a further 690,000.
“Nothing wins more hearts and minds and nothing gives more freedom than education and nothing is a better deterrent for conflict than an educated child,” Jolie said, urging the world to get its “priorities in order.”
Former vice president Al Gore used the platform to press his campaign for more action to tackle global warming.
“There should be no mistake that this crisis, the climate crisis, is not going to be solved only by personal action and business action. We need changes in laws, we need changes in policies, we need leadership,” Gore said.
“We face a genuine planetary emergency. We cannot just talk about it we have to act on it. We have to solve it urgently.”
Gore called on world leaders meeting in Bali later this year to come up with a binding agreement, for some sort of carbon-pricing mechanism to be introduced and for Washington to take a bigger lead in the crisis.
He added that more needed to be done to ensure that companies that had introduced responsible environmental protection initiatives did not lose competitive advantage to those who were wantonly polluting the planet.
“It is time now to say to those who are contributing to the dumping of 70 million tons of global warming pollution into the atmosphere every 24 hours: we cannot continue to treat the Earth’s environment like an open sewer.”
The summit continues until Friday with expected speakers including former British prime minister Tony Blair and media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

About the gold ring(s)she is wearing on her right hand -
In a preferred embodiment, the inventive system of interconnected ornamental rings comprises a pair of separate finger rings, each having a connection point at which there is attached a decorative chain interconnecting the separate rings. The present invention relates to ornamental jewelry and the like, and more particularly, to a system of interconnected ornamental rings for wearing on the fingers or toes, which can indicate a interpersonal relationship with another. The wearing of marital engagement rings, wedding bands, and other ornamental jewelry is a long and cherished custom among many different cultures, to signify a love relationship or bond between individuals.
Jewelry items are significant in conveying messages within the culture, and are worn for this purpose. In particular, an engagement ring indicates to all observers that the individual wearing the ring is betrothed, or promised to be married to another, and this carries an important message for any potential advances which may be of an interpersonal nature, or attempts to develop a relationship beyond that acceptable in casual discourse.

SO IT MADE ME TO THINK MAYBE THIS IS WHAT BRAD AND ANGELINA MAY BE EXPERIENCING WITH THEIR LITTLE ONES ESPECIALLY WITH SHILOH AND THAT IS WHY WE DO NOT SEE HER OFTEN, BECAUSE YOU KNOW SOME OF FANISTONS HATE SHILOH AS IF SHE BROKE UP THEIR IDOL’S MARRIAGE AND ON TOP OF THAT THEY ARE REALLY CRAZY.

I cried when Angie started to cry. It is so apparent how much she cares about children who are suffering. She was so eloquent and seem so genuinely emotionally attached to children of refugee camps. How can anyone not love this woman?!
I would have been first, but I had to look at all the pictures carefully before I posted… She looks great! Thanks, Angie–these children deserve all the help they can get. You are really making a difference.
I watched the whole video of Angie’s panel. She made me cry when she talked about the 2 young boys’ story. I wish I can do something to help them.
Angelina Jolie: Iraq spending could educate thousands
Agence France-Presse
Last updated 09:56am (Mla time) 09/27/2007
NEW YORK — Hollywood star Angelina Jolie called for the world to get its “priorities in order” Wednesday, saying that the amount of money spent in Iraq in just a few hours could educate thousands of children.
“To put things into perspective and maybe help to understand why we maybe need to adjust the way we’re doing things in the world, the conflict in Iraq has displaced over four million people,” Jolie told reporters in New York.
She said an appeal by UNICEF, the UN’s fund for children, and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees to address the educational needs of many of those children was dwarfed by the cost of US military spending in Iraq.
“The entire appeal equals about eight hours of current spending in Iraq. So just a few hours would send 150,000 children to school,” she said.
“Nothing wins more hearts and minds and nothing gives more freedom than education and nothing is a better deterrent for conflict than an educated child,” she added, urging the world to get its “priorities in order.”
Jolie, who as well as being an Oscar-winning actress is a UN goodwill ambassador, was unveiling an almost 150-million-dollar program to help educate one million children in conflict, refugee and emergency situations.
The announcement came at the Clinton Global Initiative organized by former US president Bill Clinton and dedicated to addressing some of the most pressing global challenges including global warming, epidemics and poverty.
Last month Jolie visited Iraqi refugees stranded on the border between Iraq and Syria, as part of a visit to the region.
It is not the first time Jolie has made critical comments on the Iraq war.
“Our priorities are quite strange,” she said in an interview in June, referring to the money spent on war and not “dealing with situations that could end up in conflict if left unassisted, and then cost more.”
She has previously compared war spending to the money made available to dealing with HIV/AIDS.

I finally was able to see the link, Ange speaks so eloquently. The story about the 8 year old boy & the old man that he helps everyday to clean the old man’s wounds was so moving, it brought Ange to tears & so do I. I hope, they can give this boy a better chance of education & he can be a good Doctor someday. What an amazing story & Ange thanks, for letting the world knows about it, people will recognize how important education to the refugees, they are their country’s future.Ange is such an amazing woman, Brad & the kids are so proud of you. As fan, you made me more prouder.Hats off to you & Brad.
What a wonderful Lady, such class. Brad and Angelina are a great couple, who do good things. We need more people like them.

Totally share Angie’s political view, particular about Iraq and Israel.
The money spend on Iraq is astronomical and all for what?
This is an insane world
i do not know why people hate this woman, but she really really cares about refugees children, when i heard the story of that little boy, my heart was filled with sadness, and from angie interview, i think she wanted to help him get the education, i hope he gets the help he needs. also about the man who was burned, i think he is the one whose picture was shown on the internet when she went to iraq. TOO BAD PEOPLE ARE OBSESSED WITH TABLOIDS THAT THEY WOULD NEVER GET THE CHANCE TO HEAR THE MESSAGE ANGELINA TRIES TO SEND TO THE WORLD OR APPRICIATE THE WORK SHE HAS DONE/DOING.
After a lot of years, I think she’s finally found what gives meaning to her life, giving to Others. She’s filled what use to be an empty unhappy place, not with bravado and destructive things, but with family, love and good works. Way to go Angelina!
NATIONAL LEDGER is the worst piece of crap, they are always spinning on brangelina stories.
Hi Guli, how are you?
The priorities must change soon. The United States is spending so much money in a war that should have never existed. Angie said it so clearly.

Lower 9th Ward project to build 150 homes
Posted by The Times-Picayune September 26, 2007 10:13PM
By Michelle Krupa
Staff writer
In a novel and ambitious effort to return New Orleans homeowners to their own neighborhood, an international consortium of architects led by film star Brad Pitt announced plans Wednesday to develop at least 150 storm-safe, environmentally sound houses in the section of the Lower 9th Ward reduced to rubble by a massive levee breach.
Working lot by lot instead of amassing huge development tracts, the project, dubbed Make It Right, will take applications from homeowners who want to rebuild their own properties with model homes now being designed, said Virginia Miller, a New Orleans spokeswoman for the project.
“Make It Right isn’t buying big parcels of land,” she said. “We don’t have an interest in being a developer. We have an interest in building houses for people.”
Unlike other plans, including recovery director Ed Blakely’s $1.1 billion blueprint to rebuild the city starting in 17 target zones, Make It Right is not designed around a traditional commercial center, nor does it aim to expand an area already beginning to thrive.
Instead, it focuses squarely on a neighborhood that has become an icon of New Orleans’ destruction: the blocks just east of where a powerful storm surge crashed through the Industrial Canal floodwall during Hurricane Katrina, obliterating dozens of homes and reducing hundreds more to piles of splintered rubbish.
Miller said the project area will extend across the 11 blocks between North Claiborne Avenue and the Florida Avenue Canal, and several blocks to the east, though precisely how far is in flux.
Loan program
With the average home expected to cost between $100,000 and $174,000, planners anticipate most homeowners will be able to contribute some cash for construction but that most will fall about $70,000 short of paying off their new homes, according to a program dossier.
As a result, Make It Right plans to offer forgivable gap loans of as much as $100,000, with the caveat that applicants must have owned a home or lot in the Lower 9th Ward before Katrina. No homeowners who participate in the program will pay more than 30 percent of their gross monthly income on house payments, documents show.
Homeowners will be expected to contribute money from insurance proceeds, savings and Road Home grants, and to investigate their options in the traditional mortgage market. But Miller said a large loan reserve will be available, financed largely by contributions of $5 million each from Pitt and Steve Bing, a film producer and philanthropist who inherited his family’s real estate fortune.
Looking for donors
In an effort to bolster that initial investment, Pitt went to New York on Wednesday to solicit donations at the official unveiling of Make It Right during a meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative, an endeavor by former President Clinton to engage world leaders in tackling environmental problems.
Pitt asked participants to match his and Bing’s contributions in hopes of raising $20 million for the project, Miller said. She did not know whether they managed to reach that goal.
Like another Lower 9th Ward project that Pitt has spearheaded — the Global Green USA contest to develop “green” housing and community/retail space in the Holy Cross neighborhood — Make It Right is rooted in principles of environmentalism, including using solar power for heat, installing energy-efficient appliances and allocating space for recycling and composting.
Home designs for the project also will include features to keep residents safe in a hurricane, including waterproof building materials, roof-level patios that can serve as safe havens and attic storage space for emergency equipment such as food and rafts, documents show.
At the same time, the homes will reflect traditional New Orleans architectural styles, such as shotguns, camelbacks and Creole cottages, and will incorporate high ceilings, front porches and gingerbread details.
Thirteen architects, including five local firms and others of international renown, are working now to develop prototype houses that will vary in size and include yards and parking areas, Miller said.
Though she did not know when designs are due, Miller said project directors will begin working with applicants to begin construction as soon as blueprints are complete.
“One of the missions is to be quick about this,” she said, adding that substantial progress should be under way within a year.
Seeking local advice
In conceiving Make It Right, Miller said Pitt and others sought advice from Lower 9th Ward residents, in part by attending meetings of nine community organizations, including ACORN, Common Ground Relief and All Congregations Together.
Among the chief recommendations they adopted was to work directly with homeowners to rebuild on their own lots, rather than recruiting a major developer to erect new houses or apartments to sell to residents, Miller said. The latter model has driven fears — so far unsubstantiated — that large builders will take advantage of the absence of thousands of homeowners to gobble up vacant neighborhoods cheaply, then erect substandard housing.
“They didn’t want developers coming in,” Miller said,
Tanya Harris, a community organizer with ACORN, said members of the project team, including Pitt, began attending community meetings in March and asked residents to help spread the word about the project to their neighbors.
However, Harris said representatives offered scant details of their plans, one reason she refused their request for a copy of ACORN’s contact list.
“They didn’t tell us much except that Brad Pitt had a vision,” she said. “I’m an organizer, so I need to see numbers in black and white.”
Harris said residents were not apprised of the project before it was announced Wednesday in New York. Nevertheless, she said she would not oppose efforts to revive the Lower 9th Ward in ways that respect residents’ wishes.
City Hall involved
Though Make It Right is not technically part of the Lower 9th Ward target zone identified in Blakely’s plan, it was included, though under a different name, in a draft plan created by city’s Office of Recovery Management, Miller said.
In the draft, a project called Cherokee Housing would receive $250,000 of $117 million in federal community development block grants that the Louisiana Recovery Authority has earmarked for infrastructure improvements in New Orleans.
Miller suspected the project was given that name because one of the Make It Right partners is the Cherokee Gives Back Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Cherokee Investment Partners, a firm that specializes in remediation and sustainable redevelopment. She stressed that Cherokee is among a cadre of participants that also includes William McDonough, a pioneer of environmental engineering based in Virginia.
Though Miller said she was not aware that project leaders had been in contact with the city or the LRA, City Hall spokesman James Ross said staffers with the recovery office “included $250,000 for site preparation for the project after developers indicated they might need that amount.”
Ross said the money can be allocated only after a public bidding process and it is not guaranteed until the award is made. If the sum is not spent for the project, it will be directed to another recovery need, Ross said.

======================================
I didn’t either.
But now I do,because there are truly bad people exist out there, that’s also why this world is such a trouble place.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
May I offer a more optimistic picture to you?
I don’t believe there are many bad people out there, though there are some who are just plain mean, no doubt about it. However, there are many people who have a sickness of the spirit and the mind. People who cannot differentiate between their own projections and the reality, people who are insecure and suffer from low esteem. People who carry highly critical voices in their heads and if they don’t turn that voice outwards on someone, would completely wither and die when it is turned on themselves. That’s why they hate, not because they hate Brad and Angelina, not because they are inherently bad (for the most part) but because they HATE themselves and are SICK. Seriously.
before i knew this blog, i used to buy every single magazine that was on newsstand as long as it had brad and angelina whether it was positive or negative, and i used to believe every word they said, and i remember it was last year when they said that they were breaking up and i was so sad, but now i know how these trash magazines work, i want my money back( i think i used hundreds in these trash magazines).it has been a year since i have bought a tabloid magazine and i am not planning on buying one ever.
333 Brad’s wonderful plan : 09/27/2007 at 12:11 am
Lmao I doubt it was brad’s wonderful plan. it was the team behind him that put it all together . he just takes the credit
Good for you, Kay. Me, i used to buy them because I want to hear news about Brad & Angelina but since most of them are negative with a bit touch of positive once in a while I just stop buying it.
How come a $1.99 tabloid trash is having all these friends & close acquaintance of Brad & Angelina dishing all the dirt of this couple? If these tabs have these connections I am sure they’ll be paying them an arm & a leg to tell juicy details of their lives. And the one thing I notice now with the low class tabloids, they all put the world EXCLUSIVE to make it more believable. Only a moron like the haters & fanistons believe those cr*ps.
she’s got such a huge heart for everyone! love her so much and that’s why she’s named one of the most beautiful people in the world frequently.
Thanks to all the for links and articles. What a great day for the Jolie Pitts.
Can’t see Brad’s speech but Angelina was amazing.
I also luv that Brad made sure to pick up Maddox. Family comes first.
BTW I frankly think Angelina looks amazing.
Angie getting involved with refugees really changed her life. I bet if any of us would do the same thing that she has done it would change our lives also. To see people whose lives have been destroyed and children with no hope! Very hard to imagine in the US. Even our poor kids have it better then the refugees. If you get a chance read Angie’s book the journal of her travels to the camps. It is so eye opening to what is going on in Africa and Cambodia. There is nothing close to it in the US. I give to the”Abandon Baby” program, where people in Africa just leave their babies on the street or in alleys and to Feed the Children. Now I will contribute to the Jolie-Pitt Foundation for I believe in what they are doing.
goodnight everyone
I admire how Brad & Angelina are making a great effort to make a difference. It’s nice to see & hear them of their experiences with their philanthropic works. Loving every minute of those video link.
What part of this quote did you not understand?
“They didn’t tell us much except that Brad Pitt had a vision,” she said. “I’m an organizer, so I need to see numbers in black and white.”
I think Angie is too beautiful for some people. Man admire hell out of what she is saying about the refugee crisis and the importance of education, but they cannot help but stare at her beauty. Some well-educated and power women tend to belittle her accomplishment in refugee crisis because it makes them feel better about themselves. They are probably used to justifying their lack of beauty with “at least I am smart and articulate” or “at least I make difference in the world and people genuine listen to what I have to say”. So, they look upon the “beautiful people” with condescending attitude. Then, comes Jolie who is not only most beautiful woman in the world, but she is articulate and very well respected for her views and role in refugee crisis. You can clearly see this when you read anything about Angie at Huffingtonpost.com. Many of the female commentators tend to belittle her accomplishments. Sad really because we women should support fellow women and their accomplishments.
336 errr
Every successful project must have someone, a catalyst, who has a vision and then acts to effect the transformation of that vision into something concrete. Brad is that catalyst in this NOLA project. Without his vision and then his determination to transform that vision into reality, no team would have been assembled and no project formalized. So yes it is Brad’s plan.
Instead of your snideness why don’t you get out there and do something to assist others in need.
Unlike you Brad and Angelina are not wasting time on a blog being critical of the sincere efforts of others to provide a helping hand. They understand that to whom much is given much is expected. A lesson that many in Htown would be wise to emulate instead of driving drunk, shopping, and partying.

guli, thank you for posting Brad’s link. He is so cute. He was nervous, shy, and almost boy like but with so much passion and intelligence. Whoever says this man is dumb is stupid. I am so happy he and Angie found each other. Be prepared everyone for the hateful rumors from the tabs, and the crazy sh*t from the trolls. Too much good stuff from and for the joli/pitts. May Allah continue to bless them and their children. And may the BAMPZS fans continue to be positive in all that we say and do. And may we never give into ignorance and hate. Ladies this has been another beautiful day for all BAMPZS fans. JJ thank you for all of the threads. I get frustrated, but will never desert you. Peace

Angelina is living proof of the power we all have — every one of us — to make a difference. I was deeply moved by her descriptions of individual refugees struggling to live with dignity and hope, and found her personal commitment to be an inspiration. Angelina’s journals document her awakening as a humanitarian activist and I hope they will move readers to act. I look forward to my continued work with Angelina on behalf of the United Nations.
Book Description
Three years ago, award-winning actress Angelina Jolie took on a radically different role as a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Here are her memoirs from her journeys to Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Pakistan, Cambodia, and Ecuador, where she lived and worked and gave her heart to those who suffer the world’s most shattering violence and victimization. Here are her revelations of joy and warmth amid utter destitution…compelling snapshots of courageous and inspiring people for whom survival is their daily workŠand candid notes from a unique pilgrimage that completely changed the actress’s worldview — and the world within herself.

Angelina Jolie at CGI
I just attended a press conference where Angelina Jolie announced a significant initiative to help educate children in conflict areas. This will be discussed at the afternoon plenary session that begins soon. The project was founded by Jolie and Gene Sperling.
The announcement is the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict. It brings together eighteen commitments to reach a total of one million “children in conflict, post-conflict refugee and emergency situations.” This includes placing 350,000 out-of-school chindren in schools, and “improving the learning environment, safety, materials and teacher quality for another 650,000 students-including 200,000 Iraqi refugees and 300,000 children affected by the crisis in Darfur.”
The dollar amount of this project is $148 million. I’ll post more information and links to details as it becomes available.

$190 BILLION for War in Iraq
I just watched the video and the story Angie told about the kid and the old man was so moving… She almost cried. She made me almost cried.
I also want to see the part where Angie talked in the platform. Is there another video? Thanks in advance.

Introduction
I was asked to write an introduction to my journals, to explain how my journals came to be, why my life took this direction, and why I decided to start it.
As I try to find the answers, I am sure of one thing: I am forever changed. I am so grateful I took this path in my life, thankful that I met these amazing people and had this incredible experience.
I honestly believe that if we were all aware, we would all be compelled to act.
So the question is not how or why I would do this with my life. The question is, how could I not?
Many nights I sat awake reading stories and statistics about national and international tragedies.
I read about UNHCR:
• More than twenty million refugees exist today.
• One-sixth of the world’s population lives on less than one dollar a day.
• 1.1 billion people lack access to safe drinking water.
• One-third of the world has no electricity.
• More than 100 million children are out of school.
• One in six children in Africa dies before the age of five.
I read about different organizations that do humanitarian work. I had been reading about Sierra Leone when I was in England. When I got back to the States it was difficult to follow the stories, so I called USA for UNHCR and asked if they could help me understand the situation there and similar situations elsewhere in the world. Three weeks later I was in Sierra Leone.
I don’t know how this will be as a book, how readers will find it. I am not a writer. These are just my journals. They are just a glimpse into a world that I am just beginning to understand, a world I could never really explain in words.

Foreword by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was established in 1951 to care for those forced to flee their homes because of persecution or war. Over the past five decades, UNHCR has helped an estimated 50 million men, women, and children to find safety and to restart their lives.
Our challenges are immense, and they could not be met without the dedicated support of concerned individuals around the world. One such champion of the refugee cause is Angelina Jolie.
On 27 August 2001, I named Angelina Jolie as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR. Some time before this, she had shown a profound interest in refugee issues, and had visited refugee camps in places like Sierra Leone, Cambodia, and Pakistan.
In 2002 and 2003, Angelina visited refugees in Namibia, Thailand, Ecuador, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Kosovo, and Ingushetia, and worked closely with UNHCR field staff. Her impressions are movingly recounted in these vivid personal journals. She will be making more field visits in the years ahead.
Since her appointment as a Goodwill Ambassador, Angelina has more than fulfilled my expectations. She has proven to be a close partner and a genuine colleague in our efforts to find solutions for the world’s refugees. Above all, she has helped to make the tragedy of refugees real to everyone who will listen. Angelina’s interest in helping refugees, her personal generosity, and her truly compassionate spirit are an inspiration to us all.

ITA with you about Brad. I watched it live. He was a little nervous at first but so passionate and knowlegeble about his efforts in NOLA. He knew the project inside and out, did not need to glance at what he had written but a few times. He comes across as sincere, and his confidence grew the longer he spoke. He made the group laugh with him, and you could tell that they liked him. He is getting better each time he speaks before a group, he is much less hesitant and much more at ease. Angelina said that people did not know him, and she was 100% right. There is a depth to Brad that no one saw as they only looked at his outside appearance. That depth of character and caring has now surfaced. That’s what the love and support of a great woman will do for a man.

THIS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT , ALWAYS TRYING TO COVER THE TRUTH AND IF SOMEBODY TALKS ABOUT YOU START TO TREAT PEOPLE , AND ORDERING SPECIFIC PERSON TO FLAG ME . THIS IS A FREE COUNTRY WITH FREEDOM OF SPEECH, THIS IS NOT A COMMUNIST COUNTRY OR A DICTATORSHIP COUNTY SO YOU BETTER STOP ORDERING THAT SPECIFIC PERSON TO FLAG, IF HE IS SUPPOSE TO FLAG ANYBODY IT WOULD YOU AND THE REST OF BRANGLIN’S STUPID FANS THAT THEY POST THE NASIEST AND UNTRUE COMMENTS ABOUT Jennifer Aniston AND HE IS POSTING THEM ,ARE BRANGELINA’S FANS ARE ALLOWED TO SAY ANY NASTY AND UNTRUE COMMENTS AND GEN FANS DON’T HAVE THE SAME PREVILAGES.
FREE COUNTRY , FREEDOM OF SPEECH, NOT COMMUNIST COUNTRY, OR A DICTATORSHIP COUNTY , SO IF HE WANT TO START FLAGING , HE SHOULD START WITH YOU AND THE REST OF BRANGLINAS.
Seriously, how can someone NOT like her??? She’s done more in her 32 years than most people have in their entire lives. And she has helped so many people, and she’s continuing to do that. She uses her fame to bring attention to world issues. She donates A THIRD of her income (which is millions!) to charity. She’s an active humanitarian and UN Goodwill Ambassador. She has adopted three children and probably saved their lives by doing so. The fact that she cares so much about the world and its people should be enough to make us all like her. And yet, people hate on her for the stupidest of reasons. Wow.
As I try to find the answers, I am sure of one thing: I am forever changed. I am so grateful I took this path in my life, thankful that I met these amazing people and had this incredible experience.

We can see her changing through the book. It’s a book from the heart written in a very raw way. I love it! Although a cried like a didn’t in a long time.
i thought this was a brief but nice read from a blogger from the huffington post. his last line really put things into perspective.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/lawrence-bender/thoughts-on-the-clinton-g_b_66069.html
This is my first CGI event and obviously there were so many incredible people there doing extraordinary things, I wanted to talk about a few things that really moved me. Just as the day began, Jennifer Hanley, who does communications for President Clinton, was running down the hall to prepare some of his talking points, as he was about to announce pledges from people.
During that session, one of the people speaking was Al Gore, who I haven’t seen in several months and as well as I thought I had gotten to know the former Vice President, I was completely blown away by the short, concise and passionate speech he made as he updated us on the issue of global warming and, of course, why it is the most important thing facing us in our lifetime.
I then played hooky and took a cab with Jeff Skoll, who own Participant Films, as he screened for us his new documentary Darfur Now. What an extraordinary documentary. Bound to have Oscar buzz. I got back to the conference just in time to see Angelina Jolie tell one of the most moving stories I think I’ve ever heard about two refugees that she met in Syria. One had been brutally burned and dumped in a trash can and the other was a ten year old boy, and how the two of these people somehow helped each other over a period of months. She was convinced that this little boy, who had spent so much time taking care of this horribly burnt man, who literally had maggots in his wounds, would someday be a doctor and that these people we call refugees are all people that are regular, hard-working people that have been stripped of everything.
The last thing I want to report back on is something the education minister of Afghanistan said. He was talking about how this year there was a terrorist attack on a school. When he arrived on the scene, two girls had been shot dead. He went to the hospital of a very badly wounded young girl, and as he comforted her, he said “Don’t worry; we’re going to take care of you.” She said back “It’s not me I’m worried about. Please, whatever you do, don’t close the school down because of this.”
My take-away from all of this was the enormous amount of violence in the world, but as much violence as there is, there’s even more goodness and that’s what this conference seems to be about; people actually taking action to do good.
Hi Andromeda - I’m so glad to see that you had a chance to watch the Plenary session (I cried a bit too - how could one not?) I really loved when it was pointed out that Angelina has visited more countries, more times than the U.N. Press Secretary - and then she was applauded for doing so. I wish I could have been there to applaud too. She deserves it.
I really want to see Angie´s speech in the platform…is there another video?…

She truly is a remarkable woman - I do hope that some day all the salacious gossip will stop and people will truly see what she is about.
She and Brad together are doing so much good in this world. I am incredibly impressed by the company they are keeping at this CGI Annual Meeting - and I really enjoyed hearing all of the panel members speak. It’s an impressive group attending this event and they are all to be applauded.
#313 BRAVO!!! You said it well and you said it right. I felt better.
Hello all, was out for a while, just got back…. will probably look in again tomorrow. Am wafting in Angie’s smile and loveliness …. :).
Hi Sheri!! :) nice to ‘meet’ you too.
Tinkerbell, thanks for the excerpt of Angie’s note from my travel, it reads wonderfully. That’s definately my book of the month purchase for Oct. :)
Bye ya’all. Take care.

Jen is a complete nonentity to most B and A fans. You would be wiser to post in her threads and support her like B and A fans post in their threads. She has nothing to do with any of the Jolie-Pitts, nothing at all. This *** for tat cra* needs to stop right now. Almost three years have passed since the divorce and it is time to live in the present. Brad is happy, Angelina is happy, the four little Jolie-Pitts are happy and they are a solid loving family.
Jen has moved on, is working in movies, she has plenty of money, she appears to be happy with her life as well. She has the life she wants with friends aplenty. She did not want that marriage to continue anymore than Brad did. And maybe in time if some fans will let their too personal feelings about a divorce not their own dissolve, there can be peace.
I never go to her threads as that would be a complete waste of my time. I have no control over some that do but this silliness is beneath most people. JMO

Everybody should stop focusing on their physical looks or outside beauty. Instead, look at the beauty and goodness inside these 2 people who are trying to make a difference in our world that has soooo much problems. The real reason I am an Angie fan is not so much of her beauty, but more of her personality. Fearless and bold, honest and blunt, kind. Not only a doer but a doer with a big heart. Yeah, I aim to be more like her in the way I face life. Everybody can contribute or so something good for one another. Not even necessarily for people outside this country. There are people in need in our own communities, neighborhoods and our workplace. Give your junk to goodwill or to the salvation army. Volunteer to feed the homeless, or donate to charities, even a dollar to the poor box. There are lots of things one can do. So long as it’s doing something good. Trust me, personal gratification and reward is a great feeling when you know you made someone smile. My 2 cents.

An amazing read. I had initially intended to read a chapter or two before bedtime one night when I bought the book a couple of years ago and ended up finishing it that night (weeping through half of it to be honest). For those of you who are interested in purchasing the book, you will not be disappointed. Her book truly confirmed to me that Angie is everything I’d imagined her to be before I read it.

Glad to see Brad & Angelina doing the Clinton Global Initiatives. It’s nice to hear perspective on their experiences ob their humanitarian works. I love it when they are doing it with an open mind & heart. More power to them. I do love them.

Thanks for the link…Brad is so surreal and honest.
Anonymous,
Here’s my take…..
Freedom of speech and freedom to write is one thing, however, the freedom to defend your rights to say your opinion is the best thing. So, in essence, you are free to write what you feel, but don’t expect the die-hard Angelina and Brad Pitt fans to sit still. They’ll put a good fight, and if you want an honest and open argumentative debate, let’s begin with, What’s your point?

Pitt says he’s given up on trying to stop the ubiquitous celebrity chatter. “I learned long ago that I can’t stop what people say about me, or what people write about me. But I can still live my life. And even though the whole celebrity thing is very loud, I can find the quiet time with my family,” he says.

Why come here if you are a Jen fan? Why are you not in a Jen thread communicating with other Jen fans like we who are JP fans are here communicating about the JP’s? Why? Don’t you like your fellow Jen fans? She has new movie roles you could be discussing with others instead of being here on this thread. I am not a Jen fan and have never ever gone to one of her threads. Why would I waste my time doing so.
Maybe you are a secret B and A fan. That’s the only logical explanation I can think of to explain your presence here in this thread.
Junofirst: I liked your post very much. You know, I was thinking the exact thing. How can we help? I want to donate to some of Angie´s causes, but I don´t have a credit card now, so that would be difficult.
Then I thought that I can help in my own communty. Lord knows that here we have thousands and thousands of kids who have nothing. There are also older people who lives in retirement houses who almost don´t have nothing to eat. So my commitment will be help those kids and those older people.
I always say that I want to help, but now I will do it.
Someone upthread was saying that she didn’t look too good and her hair was a mess. I thought she looked beautiful, but understated. Remember this wasn’t a rc appearance. I think she deliberately plays down her looks on these types of occassions. I think she know if she comes too glammed up it would be a distraction to what her real purpose is. It would also probably engender jealousy and envy in some unevolved women, and possibly some men. So she takes a middle path. She looks good enough to keep people interested in her and what she is saying. But not too beautiful to turn anyone off. She wants people to hear what she is saying, not look at her girls.
Someone asked where had Brad been hiding? Isn’t it amazing that GP and the x both said Brad was goofy. Or dumb. Or he didn’t pick up his socks. Or some other silly thing. Angie is the only one who could see the man under neath the golden image. I think is so hilarious. Everyone said they had noting in common. He was the mid-west boy golden hay seed boy. And she was the wild child of HW parents. Everyone said it was about sex. And once his appetite was sated he would return to x. Little did they know. I am certain wild jungle sex has its place in their relationship. But is obvious there is so much much more to who they are with each other and as individuals. These are truly complex people. And that is another reason why people dislike them. They are not easy to understand, define, catalog, and put in a box. Which is truly wonderful. Peace.
