Angelina Jolie announces a significant $148 million initiative to help educate children in conflict areas at the Clinton Global Initiative on Wednesday in New York City — the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.
“Education can transform the lives of children in conflict, giving them the tools to create a better future for their families and their nations,” explained Angie, who co-chairs the Education Partnership with Gene Sperling, Director of the Center for Universal Education at the Council on Foreign Relations. “This Partnership is putting words into action,” Angie explained, “and demonstrating that even in the most difficult circumstances, every child can and should have a chance to learn.”
The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict will include:
– 18 Commitments from 19 World Renowned Organizations and Individuals in 15 Countries
– Commitments to improve educational opportunities for 1+ million conflict-affected children including (1) 350,000 out-of-school children in conflict-affected regions to be given an opportunity to attend school and (2) Improve the learning environment, safety, materials and teacher quality of another 690,0000 children in conflict affected regions
– The commitments will assist 200,000 Iraqi refugee children and aid than 300,000 children affected by the Darfur genocide.

Jared, I know I said that but it never post. so here it goes again.
Dear Friends BAMPZS Fans around the World,
Dorothy, my mother- in law has returned to HER HOME yesterday before noon. When we came to the hospice care her body was still very warm to touch and I believe her soul was looking on us so I told her soul she got lots of prayers from my internet friends.
We were told at the hospice care that Dorothy responded only to her favorite grandson, Lil Bradley’s dad. The staff said “she responded “Yeah ” whenever my son asked her ” Gradma can you hear me?” My son told me, Mom, grandma looked at me and said words I can’t understand”.
The day I sent my 2 boys in the hospice care, I was driving home I never use radio, no bumps… a beautiful music played ..my instance response..”Mom is that you ? Are you telling me you are thankful I sent B & K to see you there? then the music went off.
It’s a difficult time for me at this time. I wish I could take away the pain and sorrows my husband is going through ,only I’m here to support and ask Lord to help him with his grieving.
I would like to ask YOU again to please add in your prayer Little Bradley’s Dad safety travelling this coming Sunday. He never drive very far before and the very first time he will be away from his family and us but because of his temporary assigned job he has to travel out of town for 6 hrs and longer. I am now feeling very nervous as Sunday getting closer. With his grandma on his thought I’m afraid he will get lost. He was chosen to open, manage, hire and train new employees for this new 14 cinema theater. So please say a little prayer too for my son. Thank you very much.

I am residing in the US but originally from Iloilo. If you need books (Kinder to 6th grades), we send used books to the Philippines since 1994 thru a project my son founded. We already sent over 300,000 books since its inception. Our project also renovate libraries and donate computers. School children (thru their schools), organizations and generous residents from our community and other part of the US donate their books to the project. The school children also do tee shirt,sneaker and video drives for the Filipino children every year. I usually go home every year to follow thru our projects and the biggest project we have now is building bore-wells in the remote areas in the Philippines. Hope we can be of help to your school. What is more American than helping those in need? Brad is helping Americans, are the people in New Orleans not American. Look no one is saying Brad and Angie are perfect, none of us are, they are trying their best. Yes Angie seems be dealing with a double edged sword, but I think some people forget that part of her job duty at the UN is to shine a spotlight and tell stories. It is her job. I do hope that Angie in near future will also focus the spotlight on the people who help her and the people in the field. Cause she not get where she is by herself, she is not doing the work alone. I think that is the only critique I would make, is that maybe once in a while she can turn the spotlight on the peeps that are out there working just as hard. I guess the media shares the blame because they choose to focus on her alone. It is not her fault.

I perfectly understand where Tiger Lily comes from. I do feel that sometimes there are post here that are very anti american in nature and anti US government. There is a lot of good the US does by civillians, private US sector, military, military personeel ande govt personnel. Sure mistakes have been made . People need to start chiming in about their own govt and people. I’m sure there is pro and con stuff just like in the US.

What do you expect Brad and Angelina to do? I mean, yes, America is a country with its own issues, but why are you laying it at their door? Why not rant and rave at the politicians whose JOB IT IS to make America a better place for everyone, after all, they are BEING PAID TO TO DO IT. It’s not Brad and Angelina’s job, they are just people who have causes close to their hearts, Angelina with the refugees, Brad with the NOLA Katrina victims.
But since you insist on ranting at these too, why not rant at Oprah, who spent $50 million to build a school in Africa? Why not rant at Bill Gates, who is giving most of his money to Africa? Both of them have way, way, way more money than Brad and Angelina combined!
