Angelina Jolie announces a significant $148 million initiative to help educate children in conflict areas at the Clinton Global Initiative on Wednesday in New York City — the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.
“Education can transform the lives of children in conflict, giving them the tools to create a better future for their families and their nations,” explained Angie, who co-chairs the Education Partnership with Gene Sperling, Director of the Center for Universal Education at the Council on Foreign Relations. “This Partnership is putting words into action,” Angie explained, “and demonstrating that even in the most difficult circumstances, every child can and should have a chance to learn.”
The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict will include:
– 18 Commitments from 19 World Renowned Organizations and Individuals in 15 Countries
– Commitments to improve educational opportunities for 1+ million conflict-affected children including (1) 350,000 out-of-school children in conflict-affected regions to be given an opportunity to attend school and (2) Improve the learning environment, safety, materials and teacher quality of another 690,0000 children in conflict affected regions
– The commitments will assist 200,000 Iraqi refugee children and aid than 300,000 children affected by the Darfur genocide.

Last time we check, we are dealing with the HERE AND NOW and that is what I’m talking about but then again you clearly have some issues with Brad and Angelina if you are willing to use an article that was published in 2001 as proof that in the “GRAND SCHEME” of things Brad and Angelina don’t fit into the world’s history and to be honest neither was a lot of people on that list! So your point was lost on me as I’m sure it was lost on everyone else that has been reading your post, so I choose to save the rest of my brain cells and stop talking to someone who will see what they want to see.
P.S. if you would like to have a history discussion, I’m all for it. I even have a piece of paper that says I’m pretty good on the subject.

So your MIL has gone Home. I am happy for her, but sad for you and your family. I can only imagine the pain your husband and sons must be feeling.
Having to watch our loved ones go to our Ultimate Home is always the hardest part for those of us left behind. Otherwise, going Home to our Ultimate Home must feel exactly how we all feel ordinarily when we have been away from our home for a long time and finally get the chance to return. How full of great expectation, and how happy and content we feel!!
So, it must have been both a happy and sad time for your MIL……….knowing she’s going to a place where she’s going to be happy, but knowing at the same time that she will be leaving her loving family behind to grieve.
My heartfelt hope for you and your family at this time is that you all will be soothed by the Ocean of Love that surrounds us all.

Hi Missouri Fan, I misread the meaning of your words “gone to her home”. Sorry. For some reason, I thought it meant that she was returned to her home on earth because she wanted to do so (many older generation chinese insist on dying at home). However, my sentiments haven’t change. My condolences to you and your entire family for this bereavement. Have faith that God will ensure the safety of your son.
