Angelina Jolie announces a significant $148 million initiative to help educate children in conflict areas at the Clinton Global Initiative on Wednesday in New York City — the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.
“Education can transform the lives of children in conflict, giving them the tools to create a better future for their families and their nations,” explained Angie, who co-chairs the Education Partnership with Gene Sperling, Director of the Center for Universal Education at the Council on Foreign Relations. “This Partnership is putting words into action,” Angie explained, “and demonstrating that even in the most difficult circumstances, every child can and should have a chance to learn.”
The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict will include:
– 18 Commitments from 19 World Renowned Organizations and Individuals in 15 Countries
– Commitments to improve educational opportunities for 1+ million conflict-affected children including (1) 350,000 out-of-school children in conflict-affected regions to be given an opportunity to attend school and (2) Improve the learning environment, safety, materials and teacher quality of another 690,0000 children in conflict affected regions
– The commitments will assist 200,000 Iraqi refugee children and aid than 300,000 children affected by the Darfur genocide.

Bullsh*t - that is exactly what you were doing. Never mind the fact that you completely insult every intelligent, well educated fan here (and trust me, there are MANY) who are just as capable, if not more, of extrapolating information. Do you think we’re just looking at a couple of pretty pictures and saying “She’s so wonderful”. Many here are actively involved on various levels in charity and humanitarian efforts as well, so you’re also speaking to people who are doing their part at their level.
So for you to come here and try and tell fans of theirs who have followed their lives/careers for YEARS that you know better who she is or what her motives are is just cr*p. None of us know her personally, and the consensus from many who HAVE MET HER is that her motives are sincere, genuine, and altruistic. I’m more inclined to take their opinion over yours quite frankly.
Like others here, including myself, she saw first hand what absolutely poverty looks like and was inspired to get involved - and because of her status she has a broader platform to work from. Quite frankly you just come off as being envious of that platform.

Let me answer you wish a question - are there any other celebrity couples out there doing as much, and on as large of a scale, as Angelina and Brad? NOPE
By the way - most of the fans here do not refer to them as “Brangelina” - it’s a ridiculous moniker made up by the tabloids. They are two separate individuals and we see them as such.

I know all too well your pain at this time, as well as your relief that she is not suffering any more. I hope that seeing her at peace brought you the same comfort that I felt with my Dad at that time. I thought I would be scared, but surprisingly I wasn’t. She will always be with you in spirit. You couldn’t be more wrong - my purpose was not a ‘childish attempt to wound you’ but an attempt to get YOU to see things from a different perspective and show you how absurd some people’s behaviour is. If what I suggested was done to you, I am quite sure you would feel that people should overlook your past mistakes and focus on the good things you are doing in the present right? As humans we all want the benefit of the doubt right?
You say that you are here to get a perspective from us, but then when I try to give you one, you aren’t LISTENING!!! Which can only lead me to the assumption that you are either not capable of truly understanding another’s perspective or are just here to cause trouble.
Now, as you can see, a dear friend here has just lost a loved one and that is what many of the fans here are thinking about at this time. 1. You are assuming wrongly, I don’t think Jennifer A. is evil.
2. I don’t know I was attaching you or anyone, just making a point to avoid insults.

I don’t care if the US is at the very bottom of the list for giving aid. That does not in any way diminish the good that American people have done for the global community. When it comes to doing and giving for the good of the world America steps up and does what has to be done. Don’t give me stats. Most of those countries have about what, the population of California? Maybe less. So for them to give per capita, of course the US will always be outstripped. The US has about 300 million people, not counting the Illegals, and even then most givers donate through a private channel so their funding will not be publicized.
Credit is given where credit is due. And the US is a generous country.
No shame in that. God Bless Brad and Angie, who lead the way in giving of time, money, and material goods. Oh yes, of course, Brad and Angelina are, no way; oh but yes: Americans.
