Angelina Jolie @ Clinton Global Initiative
Angelina Jolie announces a significant $148 million initiative to help educate children in conflict areas at the Clinton Global Initiative on Wednesday in New York City — the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.
“Education can transform the lives of children in conflict, giving them the tools to create a better future for their families and their nations,” explained Angie, who co-chairs the Education Partnership with Gene Sperling, Director of the Center for Universal Education at the Council on Foreign Relations. “This Partnership is putting words into action,” Angie explained, “and demonstrating that even in the most difficult circumstances, every child can and should have a chance to learn.”
The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict will include:
– 18 Commitments from 19 World Renowned Organizations and Individuals in 15 Countries
– Commitments to improve educational opportunities for 1+ million conflict-affected children including (1) 350,000 out-of-school children in conflict-affected regions to be given an opportunity to attend school and (2) Improve the learning environment, safety, materials and teacher quality of another 690,0000 children in conflict affected regions
– The commitments will assist 200,000 Iraqi refugee children and aid than 300,000 children affected by the Darfur genocide.

She is being brilliant! As always…And I’m so pleased to see Valentino Deng there!! He’s a figther, a winner, a survivor: the kind of person who gives hope the world can be better and that our kids can see a more friendly society. Jolie became very emotional and I’m getting too…Night!

FLAWLESS
i cried with that story.shes brilliant.amazing woman.
Valentino thinks Power struggles, not religion is the problem in his country. My heart is full. What a wonderful, warm ,soft spoken and well spoken man.
Angelina is an amazing person. In this lifetime, I might not see again a person like Angelina Jolie. Sure there’s a lot of humanitarian people out there, even from the celebrity part of this world, but you can count on your finger the people that actually go there, where these suffering is going on and witness and touch the reality of these suffering.
I’m so amaze because this woman have the ability to give charities by distance, but she choose to be there and witness and learn and help these people and make a difference with their lives.
Even myself, I cannot do it. God bless this woman when she found the right direction. she really took and done more than she expected to do.

I really don’t know what is going on. I’m cliking non stop and I’m refreshing the page but nothing is showing…
Valentino is building a school in Sudan, he needs donations/funds. Wonderful, beautiful maan.
Thanks for the thread Just Jared. I am watching the panel now. AJ story about the man and little boy was heartbreaking. She gets involved and has visted more countries than people in our government. She is truly an inspiration as well as all the other people on the panel.
If you have the opportunity to listen to what is going on, you won’t even be able to pay attention to haters again. The haters are a pure waste of time. There are too many problems going on in this world and we can connect to help one another, instead of hating each other. I commend Pres. Clinton for putting this together.
