Angelina Jolie Crying @ Clinton Global Intiiative

Angelina Jolie is wonderful in white as she waves to photographers before leaving a midtown New York City office building Thursday afternoon.

Just yesterday, she spoke at a forum during the Clinton Global Intiative and shared a very moving story, which brought her to tears while telling it

As told by The Huffington Post, “Angelina Jolie [told] one of the most moving stories I think I’ve ever heard about two refugees that she met in Syria. One had been brutally burned and dumped in a trash can and the other was a ten year old boy, and how the two of these people somehow helped each other over a period of months. She was convinced that this little boy, who had spent so much time taking care of this horribly burnt man, who literally had maggots in his wounds, would someday be a doctor and that these people we call refugees are all people that are regular, hard-working people that have been stripped of everything.”

Watch the video below of Angelina sharing her story! (Sorry the audio is a little off!)

Get Over It @ 09/27/2007 at 10:27 pm

Cause Effect blabbered:
“Actually, she is not changing the world. You help one person, a hundred take their place. You need to deal with the cause and not just the effect. I never hear her give any ideas on how we as a citizen of the world can stop the blood shed that is causing the refuge problem in the first place.”

I’m sure you’ve heard the story of the man who was walking along the beach when he sees a child in the distance. The child is reaching down, picking something up and throwing it out into the ocean.

As he gets closer he realizes he’s picking up starfish and throwing them into the water. When asked why, he’s told that if the starfish aren’t put back into water they will die.

“Well, the beach is covered with starfish,” he tells the child, “there are far too many. Throwing a few back won’t make any difference.” The child reaches down, picks up another starfish, throws it into the water and says,

“Made a difference to that one.”

We can’t change everything at once. But, with the support of people like Angie, Brad, and yes - even you and me - we can continue to change lives . . . one at a time. I encourage you to do your part and donate your time or your treasure to a good cause.

LOL, Bill Gates didn’t finished college, he was 2 yrs short of a BS degree, but he end up buiding one of the most successful conglomerate on earth, the richest man on earth, all these accomplishment was achieved when he was in his early thirties. talking of jealousy !

She should wear white often. looks so tall, elegance and shapely.

To Missouri Fan. My thoughts & prayers go out to your family. God Bless.

Brad & Ange are really taking action to do good. Bless them always.

Ange is a tall woman, stands 5′8″.

Actually Bill Gates recently graduated (after almost 30 years). He graduated from HARVARD. Comparing Angelina Jolie to Bill Gates is like comparing Brad Pitt to Hillary Clinton. These are people with real brains. Listen to Angelina speak – she is completely inarticulate – the poor thing can barely put two words together. Poor Brad – got lured in by sex and is now stuck with a loony and 3 kids he never wanted (and the list of adoptees keeps growing…) Oh and I love JJ and I know he loves Brangelina for some reason – but he would never delete a comment just because it isn’t drooling with love and compassion for them.

ANGIE has a body of a Model!

There are so many more humans who are truly deserving of those titles of “Hero”, “Idol” and “Role Model” in this world…Read, learn, think for yourselves…..Find out who Mahatma Gandi was, read the words of the Dali Lama, learn about the public works of Eleanor Roosevelt, check out Brooke Astor, Golda Meir, even Boadicea if your interested in strong women who lead their people and devoted their lives to others…Nelson Mandela, John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Mary Queen of Scots, Indira Ghandi, George Washington and so on and so on.

Why would you presume that people here have no knowledge of these people? I’m sure everyone here is past the 6th grade. Your condescending post is rather amusing. It’s also amusing that you consider these people heroes or role models since almost everyone of them had their own very serious issues. While I admre what many of them accomplished, I personally don’t consider any of them heroes except maybe one or two. Hell, I even worked with two of them in my international relief days.

But the point is that no one has to be perfect or a hero to contribute of themselves to effect change. Why is it that you insist that Ms. Jolie must be perfect for her to be respected for her many positive activities?

I’m afraid that’s the problem with posters who cannot say one decent thing about this young woman who has evidenced an incredible devotion to helping others. I couldn’t care less about youthful indiscretions and I don’t know any serious person of substance who does either. Her personal and family life is her business. Nothing could be tackier than commenting on it.

Not having a bachelor or master degree doesn’t make one uneducated. Angie and Brad are not scholars….we get that!! She cannot give a speech like Hillary Clinton or Bill Gates….yeah, i get that as well but you cannot deny that she is very well educated and informed about the subject that she is passionate about - refugees and children. Based on their speech, at least you know what they talked about come from their heart, not from a professional speech writer. As Colin Powell said, for Angelina it is not about saving the world but saving the kids.

Don’t condemn people for the good that they are trying to do….try to consider what you can contribute as well as a person….whether you are a well educated person or not. Would you like them more if they act more like the Beckhams??

beautiful woman inside and out!

I’m an attorney so until I see high school certificate ….
—————————

We seem to be repeating ourselves, Ms Annie. So I’ll take the opportunity to repeat myself.

Ms. Jolie attended classes at NYU. Universities, especially universities difficult to get into like NYU, require proof of high school graduation or completion for attendance.

It may not be proof beyond a reasonable doubt but, barring some unique exception, it is certainly circumstantial evidence. And you know what the jury instructions say about circumstantial evidence.

And for those criticizing Ms Jolie’s efforts to educate hundreds of thousands of refugee children (incredible as that criticism is), building a village, its infrastructure, businesses and schools in Cambodia, support and lobbying for legislation to afford refugee children due process and legal assistance in the U.S., other schools and medical facilities, as well as the other basic life sustaining support systems she has contributed to over the years, I am just not sure what the criticism is about. All these efforts mentioned form the basis for building a future for people in different parts of the world. Different people need different support.

Perhaps those who are so critical should do research themselves and learn what exactly she has been doing all these years: in Cambodia, here in the US with Native Americans and refugee children in the camps in Arizona and elsewhere, in Africa, and elsewhere. Try to avoid the nonfacts of the tabloids and gossip sites which have a need to turn it all into sleaze. Read. Educate yourselves. You’ll learn about so much more than just Ms. Jolie. Maybe you’ll get an idea or two about how you, too, can make a difference.

Angelina is the fakest ***** and worst actress walking the earth.

Angelina fans are the dumbest people for buying into her fake saint act. angelina releases as much bad karma into the world, just as much as the good karma that her fans are dumb enough to believe she releases. Good deeds can’t cover up or wash away a evil soul.

—————————————-
Sweetie, I don’t want to take too much away from Bill Gates cause he did a little better on his SATs than I did and he does like to brag about that score. But he didn’t graduate from Harvard. Yes, he got in and spent two years before droping out and I give him credit for that but I believe his degree was only honorary. He spoke at this year’s commencement.

Otherwise that would have been one of the longest ass deferrals I ever heard of.

Why aren’t people bitching that it took so long for Gates to start any charitable endeavors. He’s been very wealthy since his 20s and he only started at 40?

Hypocrisy: “insincerity by virtue of pretending to have qualities or beliefs that you do not really have.”

This does not define Angelina Jolie, and that has been a proven fact for many years. Why a fact? Just do some serious and open- minded research. Most “very well-educated” and common people in the WORLD believe what she is doing a REMARKABLE and serioius work as a UN Embassador.

Your statement is assumption.
Assumption
“1.The act of taking to or upon oneself
2. The act of taking possession or asserting a claim
3. The act of taking for granted
4. Something taken for granted or accepted as true without proof; a supposition
5. Presumption; arrogance.”

she is such an inspiration! Her humanitarian work creates so much hope to refugees all around the world.

to #Annie

I am a rocket scientist and I felt that Angie sounded very educated. You on the other hand sounded jealous and conceited. Being educated or well-educated for the matter is not defined by having a certain school certificate or holding a certain school degree.Open up your mind. It’s a pity that all your education doesn’t bring you beyond the narrow-mindedness reflected in your posters. Don’t get hung-up by a certain sentence in Angie’s speech. What do you want her to say that most of the people in the room is not educated ? Then she will sound as conceited as you.

what's your point? @ 09/28/2007 at 1:34 am

Hey Annie: Remind yourself of your declaration:

“I’m an attorney so until I see high school certificate scan with Angelina’s name on it I’m not going to buy into this “fact”. She doesn’t look nor sound like some sort of genius that could graduate high school two years before the rest of us. And BTW let’s assume for the sake of this argument that she did graduate from high school; again, a high-school certificate does not make one “very well-educated”. I think I’ve devoted enough of my time to this interesting yet inaccurate “conversation”. Peace.

Just reading your written paragraph tells me you’re a hypocrite! An Attorney doesn’t spell erroneously and put sentences in a grammatically incorrect manner.

Angelina is a human being well deserved of high respect and adulattion from her fans, so here’s what I’ll tell you, speaking of bragging about your title, don’t come here telling us you are an Attorney and writing erroneously, because the fact of the matter is that, an Attorney should base their reasoning and declarations based on FACTS, not just by argumentative debate or reasoning power which politicians do. To re-phrase your sentences: I’m an Attorney, comma, so, comma, until I see A, you missed A, high school certificate scanned, with double N and ED, with Angelina’s name on it, comma again, I am not going to buy into this “fact. period first then ” She doesn’t look, comma, nor??? what is nor? Is that now an attorney’s way of saying NEITHER in a slang manner? Aren’t Attorney’s supposed to always be grammatically correct and FACTUAL when they speak, write and do a debate?

You poor thing, you have to play the role of an Attorney to help lift yourself and brag about yourself, wow, you are indeed THE Attorney for the National Ledger’s school of the dumbs. Lay off Ms. Angelina Jolie, who has such a good heart, before you begin to have another panic and anxiety attack.

that was so moving- she is just such a beautiful person and speaks with such passion and emotion you cant help to reflect, not everyone can do that.

I am baffled. Just utterly baffled at the negative response this woman and this family receive.

I mean she could be doing worse things than speaking at press conferences held by former presidents of the United States. She could be doing nothing at all.

One doesn’t have to be a scholar to see that the world is in shambles and it also doesn’t take a scholar to open a book, read a newspaper, make phone calls, turn on a television to become informed about the global community that we are all part of. It doesn’t take a genius to be informed…it takes time and dedication. Reading is something we (the people on this site) can all do. So, why is it so hard to imagine that Angelina can read as well? I mean she has to read scripts, right? Or maybe some of you will respond by saying, “she probably has people to do that.” In any case I won’t even take the time out to retort, just seems silly and you and I both see that.

I just don’t understand why there is so much backlash? I mean what do you have to say about Britney Spears, or Lindsay Lohan, or the countless number of people with the abilities to help themselves and the world but don’t? It’s interesting that Angelina’s humanitarian work or “fake emotions” can garnish well over 200 comments, Britney (train wreck) Spears can only manage a measly 50 or so comments.

It is funny to me that an attorney, and “humanitarians” and the whole lot of highly “intelligent” and “educated” people on this site find the time to criticize Angelina. How do you have the time?

I’m not saying I’m better than any of you. After all here I am right writing a response. But I’ve never claimed to be an attorney or devoted humanitarian. The fact is I’m going to college and not working so I have plenty of time to dilly dally on the internet responding to gossip blogs about people I don’t know in real life…

Angelina’s past is always brought up in these threads. How her turn around was so quick that it must’ve not been genuine. I am at this moment in time 23 years old, it is my hope that when I’m in my 30’s I will have changed, that I have in some capacity grown as a human being. I would also hope and imagine that after taking responsibility for a child on my own accord that my heart would open up and that things, like vials of blood worn in necklaces, being wild, playing with guns and knives won’t seem as important as the child sitting in front of me.

Everyone is quick to judge. They live their lives in a way that makes it easy for us to judge them. The truth is if cameras and publicity were turned around on us we would not have any idea as to how to manage, at least I know for sure I wouldn’t.

So please can’t we just stop the woman on woman violence and lift each other up instead of putting each other down.

quiet no more, i’m so agree with you (ps you sound very mature for a 23 years old)

IF JOLIE CRYS I CRY TOO. IN REALITY I CAN’T SEE ANYBODY CRYING, PARTICULY ANGIE.

SHE IS BEYOND FAKE.

LET’S SEE HOW LONG BEFORE THIS POST IS DELETED SINCE I’M NOT WORSHIPING THIS TRASH.
