Angelina Jolie Crying @ Clinton Global Intiiative

Angelina Jolie is wonderful in white as she waves to photographers before leaving a midtown New York City office building Thursday afternoon.

Just yesterday, she spoke at a forum during the Clinton Global Intiative and shared a very moving story, which brought her to tears while telling it

As told by The Huffington Post, “Angelina Jolie [told] one of the most moving stories I think I’ve ever heard about two refugees that she met in Syria. One had been brutally burned and dumped in a trash can and the other was a ten year old boy, and how the two of these people somehow helped each other over a period of months. She was convinced that this little boy, who had spent so much time taking care of this horribly burnt man, who literally had maggots in his wounds, would someday be a doctor and that these people we call refugees are all people that are regular, hard-working people that have been stripped of everything.”

Watch the video below of Angelina sharing her story! (Sorry the audio is a little off!)

Can we please get over the celebrity-thing here and focus on the story she had to tell? THAT KID who sells tissues is the true hero in this, and yes angie’s doing a great thing by sharing this story with others….but this should not be about her, it should be about the cause she’s supporting. Sometimes i wonder how much good celebrities do by promoting causes like this. Sure, it gets more publicity that way but what good does it do if all we’re focusing on is how good the celebrity is for promoting the cause instead o FOCUSING ON THE ISSUE ITSELF? I’m not questioning angie’s motives, it is clear to me that she really cares and wants to help but sometimes i wonder if she is really acconplishing what she wants to accomplish or just creating this cult-worshiping around her personality…

Hello sa Lahat JP true fans!

Beauty and Brains rolled into one!Amazing, amazing couple!

She’s wearing the same ring from CGI!

I’ve read from Jjb forum.one of the poster said/Lilmonday that the 2 linked rings signify a union bet. 2 people, bigger ring (Brad) smaller ring {Angie} Just the word “union” if so true hayyyy lalo ako kinikilig! My heart goes boom boom boom!hehehe!

BEAUTIFUL RINGs and really looks expensive!

Just watched CGI forum, both are very good public speakers esp. Angie!
I was moved and teary eyed about the sad story told by Angie,it’s only short but it hit me straight from the heart. How i wish, all the sufferings in the world ENDS and all just be Happy!
Thank you all for the links…

GOD BLESS us ALL

This woman is incredible. I didn’t like her in her movies but I love her in real life. She gives so much time to people who need attention and care. She is an angel and I wish her all the best. She deserves the best in life. Amy, maybe actresse can cry on demand, but you can see that Angelina really cares. She even goes to Iraq….that’s not faking. That’s caring. I think other hollywooders should be less self-centered and more giving.

annie: where did you BUY your J.D? It belongs in the toilet…Please contact W.Bush & his iniquitous legions to get your money back… You, obviously, have been left behind in your education… Even though Angelina is not conferred any degree, she has been advanced in her education. The veracity of her education manifests from her authentic quest for learning and thus in itself transcends actions to facilitate attainable & sustainable changes… Angelina leads a perspicacious life and existence… you can also… choose!

She is an amazing person! I cried after watching the video. It is a very touching story and only a heartless person would not feel a bit sad…actress or not. It is shocking to me to know that something like this exist in this world. I’m glad that Angelina is raising the awareness about this problem. I hope that more people will be move by her story so much that we would take action in making this world a better place.

God bless Angelina and her family. Peace to all!

There are so many more humans who are truly deserving of those titles of “Hero”, “Idol” and “Role Model” in this world…Read, learn, think for yourselves…..Find out who Mahatma Gandi was, read the words of the Dali Lama, learn about the public works of Eleanor Roosevelt, check out Brooke Astor, Golda Meir, even Boadicea if your interested in strong women who lead their people and devoted their lives to others…Nelson Mandela, John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Mary Queen of Scots, Indira Ghandi, George Washington and so on and so on.

Why would you presume that people here have no knowledge of these people? I’m sure everyone here is past the 6th grade. Your condescending post is rather amusing. It’s also amusing that you consider these people heroes or role models since almost everyone of them had their own very serious issues. While I admre what many of them accomplished, I personally don’t consider any of them heroes except maybe one or two. Hell, I even worked with two of them in my international relief days.

But the point is that no one has to be perfect or a hero to contribute of themselves to effect change. Why is it that you insist that Ms. Jolie must be perfect for her to be respected for her many positive activities?

I’m afraid that’s the problem with posters who cannot say one decent thing about this young woman who has evidenced an incredible devotion to helping others. I couldn’t care less about youthful indiscretions and I don’t know any serious person of substance who does either. Her personal and family life is her business. Nothing could be tackier than commenting on it.
=============================

Most of those ‘heroes’ were/are professional politicians. while Angie makes a living as an actress.

Look at all her contemporary actors in HW, people with fame, power and money, what have they done to help others? So, yes, Angie is definitely a role model and hero.

Why is it that people get sooooo uncomfortable when other human beings try to do good in the world. The criticism that Angelina gets reminds me of all the mean remarks Princess Diana use to get when she wanted to help the the less fortunate.Angelina seems like a very sensitive young lady that has found her calling in life. Those of you who speak malice of her should check yourselves when was the last time you thought of someone else besides yourself. That she is seeking publisity i truly doubt that. She cuold be putting gas in her car & the paparazzi would surround her,She would front page news.So to thimk the she would take time out of her life to travel to third world countries & come back to the states to get attention for them to help those poor souls out ther, just to get attention for herself i think not.

soleil - have u recently been studying 4 ur SATs? :)

She is such an amazing woman. That story makes me cry as well. How can we help?

This woman is so fake. I cant stand her. Reconciliation?? Haha! Why don’t you go and reconcile with your own father before you talk about these things?? The poor man has not seen his grandkids. Just because he used the wrong words in describing you doesn’t mean that he doesnt deserve a chance.
I hated when she was laughing in the middle of the speech. Her story was nonsense, someone else must have told it to her.
