Katharine McPhee is Engaged!
American Idol album Katharine McPhee is engaged, according to OK!
The 23-year-old singer and her actor beau, Nick Cokas, 42, are going to tie the knot (presumably next year). Yes, he is 19 years her senior.
“They’re definitely engaged,” said a source on the set of Kat’s upcoming film House Bunny. “They’ve been talking about it for some time.”

for all we care she could be married already. i saw a set of pictures of her back in july 6 at the airport taken by photographers from bauer-griffin with a band on her left hand and took it off later in the bathroom. nice photos that day too.
To all the agist bigots who are playing the “he’s way too old card,” I’m curious to know if you’d be singing the same tune if she were engaged to Brad Pitt, or John Stamos.

She’s smart. He looks to be loaded and what better for a young, attractive young woman like herself with stars in her eyes than to have financial security? Kida famous doesn’t always pay the bills plus he’s handsome in that distinguished kind of way…Better this than some cheap romance with a 20 something complete with a sex tape.

The marriage would probably work if she were fat or ugly bc then she would be desperate and hang onto him with all her might. Ever notice how obese woman or ugly women are so devoted to their boyfriends and husbands? They often don’t get the chance to date a lot of different men. Many are ready to marry the first man who comes along.
Older men are usually better lovers and once they get a young girl who is relatively inexperienced into bed, it’s often a done deal. They turn them on in bed and that’s usually good for a while until the honeymoon period wears off, which it eventually does. A desperate woman doesn’t have many takers so she stays put. A pretty girl is confident enough to attract other men, so she will when she gets bored enough and realizes she did not have to get married at such a young age.

I see his big wide smile and for the camera action, and I see “Meal Ticket” - too bad for such a talented girl. Maybe they will break up before the legalities.

FYI, dearie, They met about a year BEFORE anyone knew she was. She was also a fair bit heavier back then (not that that should matter). If anything, SHE’s the one who should be accused of looking for a “meal ticket,” given he’s owner of a theater production company, and that she was a complete “nobody” when they met.
I love how you call him an “actor”. According to imdb, he has been in one episode of a show nobody watched over 2 years ago. Really setting Hollywood on fire over there.
Anyway, whatever. She’s hot, I’m a hater. F him.

Some of you have major hater issues. I’m happy to hear that Kat’s been with the same guy before and after she’s gotten famous. She has her pick of so many guys, but they’ve stuck by each other which I think means a lot to the both of them.

Kat’s the one with an “oldER man” fetish. Her boyfriend prior to this one was also significantly older (18 years older, IIRC, and also part of the theater circuit). SHE’s the one going after these guys… She’s hardly a “victim” here.
