OlderBrad & George Get Down in Brooklyn
Ocean’s 13 pals Brad Pitt and George Clooney exit their trailers Monday afternoon during a film break on the Brooklyn set of their CIA black comedy Burn After Reading.
The duo is being directed by The Coen Brothers, who have done movies such as Fargo, The Big Lebowski and O Brother, Where Art Thou? (Clooney also starred in this). John Malkovich will play Ozzie Cox, a former CIA agent whose soon-to-be ex-wife (Frances McDormand) steals a disc containing his memoirs and accidentally leaves it at the gym where it is found by a trainer (Pitt) who believes he can use the info to blackmail Cox. Clooney will play an assassin hired by the CIA to take care of the situation.
Burn After Reading opens in theaters nationwide in 2008.

Struggling with fame and wanting to find meaning, Brad Pitt says, “I have faith in my family”

“I always felt a pervasive sadness,” Brad Pitt tells me. “I’m not sure I earned it, because it was always there. It existed in the place where I grew up–in my family, in people who have true sweetness and true goodness. Maybe it’s a congenital sadness that everyone has to some degree.”
Brad Pitt, 43, one of the world’s most recognized stars, says his life and beliefs are informed by this sense of existential sadness. It is what drives him as a man and an actor. It is also what makes him want to fix the world.
“Maybe an offshoot of it is the discomfort I feel when other people are unhappy and wanting,” he suggests. “When I see someone without basic health and education, without a supportive family, I feel a connection. That’s what moves me the most. I could be him, if I’d been born on some other dot on the map.”
Brad Pitt and I recently spent some time together in Toronto. What is most impressive about him is not his good looks and movie-star glamour, things he has in spades. Rather, it is his openness and empathy with people who are hurt. There is much of the generous, unspoiled American boy in his character, a kind of innocence. He truly believes he can help mend broken lives and change the world. And that, he says, makes everything else he does meaningful.
“Whoever said all men are born equal never left his own backyard,” Pitt asserts. “I see people everywhere without opportunity. I want to help level the playing field.”
Pitt grew up in Springfield, Mo., the oldest of three children in a conservative, Southern Baptist family. His mother was a school counselor; his father ran a trucking company.
“My dad made sure our needs were met,” he says. “I had a very loving family.” When he speaks of his childhood, his voice softens with the accent of his youth.
“I always had a lot of questions about the world, even in kindergarten. A big question to me was fairness. If I’d grown up in some other religion, would I get the same shot at Heaven as a Christian has? My mom would come into my room and talk to me. I was very fortunate to have that dialogue with her, but in high school I started to realize that I felt differently from others.”
Brad went to Springfield’s Kickapoo High, excelling at school debates and sports. As he got older, his religious doubts increased.
“I had crises of faith,” he says. “I thought you had to experience things if you want to know right from wrong. I’d go to Christian revivals and be moved by the Holy Spirit, and I’d go to rock concerts and feel the same fervor. Then I’d be told, ‘That’s the Devil’s music! Don’t partake in that!’ I wanted to experience things religion said not to experience.”
By the time he entered college, Pitt had scuttled his fundamentalist beliefs. “When I got untethered from the comfort of religion, it wasn’t a loss of faith for me, it was a discovery of self,” he says. “I had faith that I’m capable enough to handle any situation. There’s peace in understanding that I have only one life, here and now, and I’m responsible.”
Pitt’s causes range from rebuilding New Orleans to AIDS care in Africa. Last year, among the millions of dollars he and his companion of two years, Angelina Jolie, donated to charity, $1 million was given to Doctors Without Borders, another million to Global Action for Children.
“It’s not just altruism,” he insists. “It’s not a payback. Philanthropy is good for us. It’s in our own best interest. It’s personally rewarding when you see lives change because of an action you take that, though simple for you, means so much to others. You sleep peacefully at night.”
I ask if his charitable work is the result of his relationship with Miss Jolie.
“That’s idiotic!” he replies. “I do it because I’m a member of the human race. In Africa you see people on the street dying from AIDS, children left without parents. We’re all cells of one body, with the same emotions and desires for our families–for a little dignity and a chance for a better life. Let’s focus on that! I believe in the founding principles of America. I want to fight for that. I know most Americans feel the same way.”
I suggest that he run for political office.
“Oh, my God!” Pitt says in surprise. “I never thought about it. I have no desire at this point. Maybe I serve better by not going through that door.” He laughs. “George should do it!” he says, offering up pal Clooney. “He’d be quite good. I think Ben Affleck should run.”
Brad Pitt was in Toronto for the film festival’s screening of his new movie, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. He stars as the outlaw James, one of America’s first murdered celebrities. It is a magnificent performance that’s likely to win him an Oscar nomination.
Pitt’s journey to stardom began in 1986, two weeks before graduation from the University of Missouri, when he suddenly dropped out and headed to Los Angeles.
“I had this sinking feeling as graduation approached,” he says. “I saw my friends getting jobs. I wasn’t ready to settle down. I loved films. They were a portal into different worlds for me, and Missouri wasn’t where movies were made. Then it hit me: If they didn’t come to me, I’d go to them.”
In L.A., he took acting classes and worked at odd jobs. Within nine months, he began to land small parts on TV and in teen flicks. In 1991 he had a small role as Geena Davis’ boy-toy pickup in Thelma & Louise. It made him famous. Everything followed from there.
“When fame really hit me was when Legends of the Fall was released three years later,” he says. “You get no warning about what celebrity is or how to deal with it. It’s sort of multitiered. The initial stage is feeling discombobulated and not up to the task. I didn’t understand the incessant attention when I went outside, the way people completely focused on me. It made me very uncomfortable.
“Then you start to see the fickleness of celebrity,” he continues, “that it isn’t rooted in something of real value. There is this strange wanting by people to get next to you. It has nothing to do with you but with something they feel they are missing in themselves.”
Brad Pitt’s fame increased exponentially after Interview With the Vampire, Troy and the three Ocean’s caper films. His outsized celebrity also was powered by his romances with actresses Juliette Lewis and Gwy-
neth Paltrow, his very public marriage to and divorce from Jennifer Aniston, and his current relationship with Jolie, 32.
“I understand the tabloid machine,” he says. “There’s money to be made off of Angie and me, but it has gotten so out-of-hand. There’s no decency, even when it comes to our kids.”
Jolie and Pitt have three adopted children–Zahara, 2, Pax, 3, and Maddox, 6–and a birth daughter, Shiloh, 16 months.
“I mean, yesterday Angie was taking Maddie off to school,” he continues angrily. “There were 30 paparazzi outside. One guy sticks a video camera in Mad’s face, yelling, ‘Maddox! Maddox!’ He doesn’t get a response. He doesn’t know my boy. Mad is already savvy to this, unfortunately. But my 2-year-old dreads being anyplace there are cameras. It scares her. They’re all in her face. My kids are faced with this every day! It’s disgusting. So we’ve been run out of L.A., all the major cities. We just can’t live there. You don’t understand–this is the hunt, the hunt, the hunt! I thought it might be over a year ago. It’s gotten worse.”
He pauses, shaking his head. For a moment, I glimpse world-weariness in his blue eyes, affecting and sad.
“What’s important to me is that I’ve defined my beliefs and lived according to them and not betrayed them,” he says. “One of those is my belief in family. I still have faith in that.”

Brad is a PR ***** and is plotting his break up move!
So the kitchen staff at the W.A. are so over these two it isn’t funny. The J-Ps are installed in a W.A. apartment with a kitchen that does not get used to cook anything at all. They like to order from the kitchen at all hours (normally, the kitchen closes at 11pm) but because of their constant off-hours requests, a skeleton staff has been added to the graveyard shift on the off chance that the JPs order anything at 3am. Anyway, they always order things that are not on the menu such as 20 “sliders.” This irritates the chefs at the W.A. because that kind of food is beneath them and beneath the W.A. culinary standards.
Also, the whole family had lunch in the (at the time, empty) glass enclosed lobby level restaurant where instead of sitting in the back of the restaurant where noone would see them, they sat right up against the window that look out into the lobby. Needless to say the restaurant filled up quick. That happened a week ago.

Exactly!! Brad has stated that he gets angry and irritated by paps when his kids are around. He has said that he can accept the spotlight on him and Angie because of their fame but leave his kids alone. They have absolutely NOTHING to do with this.

The hypocrisy all around stinks. The fans are lamenting at the paps, but are here everyday literally demanding for new pictures. Everybody by now knows how the paps get the pictures but yet people are here everyday asking for pictures of Shilh.
The haters are full of sh*t as well because they are always the first to post when new pictures appear even though they supposedly don’t like them.
Brad is also ranting at the wrong people. He sounds like when Oprah got to New Orleans after Katrina and was saying she is mad, but does not say who she is mad at. Brad has chickened out of addressing why the circus started in the first place. His ex wife’s pity party started all this, and to this day he tip toed around it because I believe Cindy is telling him not to. I just saw one of TIFF’s video today when a reporter asked him about Angelina, and Cindy was trying to stop them and for Brad to move on, credit to Brad, he said he will take one more question.
I think it is time for Brad to follow his instincts and for the fans to stop this thirst for new pictures. Pictures from the red carpet and interviews are enough for me until the hysteria dies down. When you frequent the photo agency sites that is telling them the celebs they should go after because that is where the demand is. If you are really worried about Z being frightened, then show your concern by boycotting the photo agencies that have those pictures if not you are all talking out of both sides of your mouth.

Then the WA is destroying it’s patrons base. They are being paid a large amount of money by the studio or Brad and Angelina. A hotel of the level of the WA is in the business of providing lodgeing and meals. If they complain too loudly then other wealthy people will migrate somewhere else, and the WA will lose business. And why would well behaved children be exiled to the back when they might enjoy having sething to look at, and why would anyone complain about more business? The WA does not have the reputation it once had or the clientele and the best hotels never complain about its guests. If this is a blurb in one of the NYC newspapers then the WA will certainly lose business. There are plenty of other choices of hotels that keep zipped lips, and wealthy people require discretion.
Ritzygirl you are truly bipolar. Get some effective medication quickly as your condition is deteriorating and may require court ordered involuntary hospitalization for treatment. Really.

I just read something about the film and it says that Brad’s character is “a muscle-bound doofus with big dreams. It’s the dumbest role Pitt’s played, actually, since his memorable scenes in True Romance.” The hair definitely seems to fit that description.
Britney spears is the only other celeb that gets the hits that brangelina get. at least aniston and her beard and mustache get to live a somewhat normal life because she is not in demand. Brad should have nipped the bud in the beginning but he stayed silent and let angelina and jennifer take all the **** for him and now he’s paying for it.

But I have to say i feel sorry for her, because there’s obvious something very wrong with that person. She is completely obsessed with them (especial with Angie). The time that she wastes, making up stories, searching the internet… on people that she hates (at least Angie)… it’s disturbing. Just ignore the trolls, they are really a bunch of idiots, and i think there are only 1 or 2 who just changes their names. There is just too much jealousy in them. They cant stomach that Brad is so in love with his family.

I think it is time for Brad to follow his instincts and for the fans to stop this thirst for new pictures. Pictures from the red carpet and interviews are enough for me until the hysteria dies down. When you frequent the photo agency sites that is telling them the celebs they should go after because that is where the demand is. If you are really worried about Z being frightened, then show your concern by boycotting the photo agencies that have those pictures if not you are all talking out of both sides of your mouth.

So the kitchen staff at the W.A. are so over these two it isn’t funny. The J-Ps are installed in a W.A. apartment with a kitchen that does not get used to cook anything at all. They like to order from the kitchen at all hours (normally, the kitchen closes at 11pm) but because of their constant off-hours requests, a skeleton staff has been added to the graveyard shift on the off chance that the JPs order anything at 3am. Anyway, they always order things that are not on the menu such as 20 “sliders.” This irritates the chefs at the W.A. because that kind of food is beneath them and beneath the W.A. culinary standards.
Also, the whole family had lunch in the (at the time, empty) glass enclosed lobby level restaurant where instead of sitting in the back of the restaurant where noone would see them, they sat right up against the window that look out into the lobby. Needless to say the restaurant filled up quick. That happened a week ago.

When I read this LIE, I burst out laughing. Oh my goodness, I haven’t had such a good laugh in ages. Whoever wrote this obviously have never stayed at the Waldorf Astoria or any of the super luxury hotels in the world.
As some one who has worked in a 5 star hotel and as some one who has stayed, on company expense, in 5 star hotels (and they aren’t even the Waldorf), let me tell you something.
(1) they get guests from all over the world. Of course, they have 24 hour room service. 5 star hotels offer an extensive after hours menu so, they ALWAYS have a skeletal staff to cook or whatever for these pampered guests, even if you are ordering at 3.00am in the morning. Because you know something?? when you are jet lag, you often wake up in the middle of the night and wanna eat something coz its your lunch or dinner time back home. Super luxury hotels understand that. The cost of having a staff to cook up meals at the hotel is something built into the cost of charging US$600+ per night for a standard executive room.
(2) If they want home cooking, they will ask the hotel to organise a chef to come cook for them. Believe it or not, if you stay in the suite at the Waldorf Astoria, and pay more than $3000 a night, the hotel are DELIGHTED to keep their guests happy.
(3) These suites have a dedicated 24 hour butler service.
(4) And if they sat at a spot where they had a view of the lobby and the restaurant filled up, of course the hotel is happy that they attracted the customers. Hello, an empty restaurant loses money. A full restaurant makes money. An empty restaurant means the staff makes no money in tips. A full restaurant means staff makes money in tips.
As far as LIES go, this one gets an “F”.

and is it just me but i bet at there permanent home they are putting the 9ft bed to extemely good use besides the sunday movies with the kids….can anyone say sexercise!
