OlderBritney Spears Loses Custody of Kids
Britney Spears has lost physical custody of her kids, according to TMZ. The pop princess has about 48 hours left with her two sons before they are taken away from her.
L.A. County Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon issued an order today stating that baby daddy Kevin Federline “is to retain physical custody of the minor children on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 12:00 PM until further order of the court.”
X17 reports Britney took the kids to the drive-thru at Carl’s Jr. at 12:02PM today and surrendered the kids to K-Fed’s bodyguard three minutes later.
Gordon previously found that Britney is a “habitual, frequent and continuous” user of alcohol and controlled substances.
Just yesterday, Britney grabbed dinner at a Greek restaurant in Malibu with her two children — Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.

That K-Fed strikes me as a little opportunistic creep, who was just waiting to pounce on the next screw up and Britney certainly made it easy for him. The problem is (out of many) - two weeks ago the judge ordered that she was to be booze and drug-tested twice a week in order to retain custody of her kids. What did she do right after court? Went out partying. This weekend she was driving her poor crying kids all over without a valid drivers’ licence. If I were to do that, I’d be arrested. This idiot won’t listen to anybody. She’s made her bed, now she’s lying in it.
Since she is usually out partying I can’t imagine she’ll even know the kids are gone.

For those of you who hate K-Fed and think Britney should retain custody regardless of her poor parenting style (which includes drinking, drugs, etc)–at least Kevin F has Britney’s parents over, appears not to drink/do drugs etc. when he has the kids, and has a good nanny. ‘Bout damn time. It was nerve wracking watching that waste case tote those poor kids around like baggage. And I agree that Fed’s an opportunist. But, unlite their poor excuse for a mommy, I think he’ll at least hire help so the kids get some proper care and feeding. Supposedly he’s not a substance abuser either (or as frequent an abuser!).
People can continue to try to defend her, but come on…is it not clear to people that she needs help? That she is unstable? As long as her children continue to be subjected to her destructive behavior, they too will experience all types of problems as they grow older.
I think Kevin is playing this to the media for sure, but how many chances can the woman be given? I know that she’s more open to be exploited because of the media and they can catch your mistakes, but are there any other celeb moms being accused of this stuff? Any other celeb moms who are seen almost dropping babies, running around drunk, not having them secure in vehicles, etc.?

Okay, Kevin gets full custody now but what happens if Brit gets her act together (which I pray to god she does and gets physciatric help) and then wants to fight for full custody. What happens then? Will the kids be taken from their dad just like that or will Kev have to do the 50/50 again? Does anyone know how that works? I was just curious because these kids need stability.

I feel sorry for Britney and I am not crazy about Federline, but he’s been a great father to his other kids, so he’s proved himself. I think the boys will be better off with him. They will have extended family because they have a half brother and sister in the children of Shar and Kevin. They’ll probably all be raised as family and I’m sure Britney’s parents will always be welcome and play a major part in their upbringing. This was the best decision. Britney is on a crash course and even though Kevin is a bit opportunistic, I don’t believe he would have done this to Britney if he didn’t have a good reason to. I don’t think he is that diabolical.

If Britney does get her act together, she can petition the court to review the custody terms. There will be a hearing during which the judge will determine if she can regain custody.

Britney Spears is not fit to be a mother. Sorry to all her fans, but that woman is in desperate need of psychiatric counseling. It’s so obvious. She’s not very bright, so that’s why she hasn’t been able to get her act together. She’s a woman on the path to self-destruction. We saw it with Anna Nicole and now Britney. I never thought I would think that Kevin was the stable one in their relationship, but he’s turning out to be. What I’m most concerned about is her children. I hope she doesn’t end up harming them before she hands them over.
As a mother of a young male adult, I cannot imagine how terrible it would be to have one’s children given to their father and, especially, one who has not worked since he met their mother. Only time will tell if he can be an effective parent and, hopefully, he’ll do it himself without the help of Shar Mammy as he has those two children born out of wedlock with her.
It goes to show that she needs to be treated by a non-Hollywood professional psychologist in addition to going through long-term detoxification and substance abuse counseling.
Most mothers have so much love and pride regarding the sacrificial rearing of their children that they would do anything to prevent the father in a divorced situation from having 100% custody of them.
This hurts my heart as a mother, and I hope she now seeks the professional assistance that she and those little boys deserve!

Now That She’s Lost Custody Of Her Babies….

A Los Angeles judge on Monday took away Britney Spears‘ custody of her two children, Tater Tot and Small Fry.
The former pop star, who the court labeled a frequent and habitual user of drugs and alcohol, must turn over custody of her kids to Kevin Federline by Wednesday.
The children will stay with K-Fed indefinitely, as he has been granted 100% full physical custody of the boys.
However, despite losing custody of her sons, the court specified on Monday that Spears must still adhere to the orders from a September 17th.
Those orders include:
- Random drug testing.
- Attending individual counseling at least once a week to address parenting issues.
- Meeting with a parenting coach for a minimum of 8 hours a week, in at least two sessions a week.
On the bright side, Britney’s album comes out in six weeks. Woo hoo!
We can’t wait for her to do press to promote the new record.

One thing I do know. The court doesn’t rule on hearsay. The court doesn’t rely on just one person saying things. There had to be a pattern of behavior. There had to be evidence of drug use. Things had to be pretty bad before the court could rule someone an unfit mother and take away her kids for the forseeable future.The law is intervening where her parents couldn’t. I was really distressed by the way Britney looked when she was giving up the boys. There is something very sad and unstable about her. She’s clearly mentally ill.I think she will definitely try to harm herself. She will need lots of support to get well. And time. It won’t happen overnight. It may take two or three years to recover. And it might be a year before those kids live with her again. No judge would have given K-Fed custody if he was into bad stuff, himself. The judge checked them both out. Judge could’ve given the kids to the grandparents.Fact is, those kids need peace and quiet and stability right now. They are probably gonna need some time to “recover” from all the running around and turbulence in their tiny lives. What a mess. Very sad.

Britney’s main problem is that she doesn’t want to build a new life for herself that involves growing up, taking care of her kids, wearing appropriate clothes, and being a respectable person. What she wants is her OLD life back. This was evident from the moment she left K-Fed and went on the David Letterman Show to announce it–”I’m back, y’all!” It was as if she tried to hit the rewind button. Two children change your life permanently, whether they were “mistakes” or not. Who knows what will happen to her career as a singer, but the only way this media circus will stop is if she gets her act together and stops being such a train wreck. She’s been in rehab, has anyone suggested psychotherapy?
