OlderBritney Spears Loses Custody of Kids
Britney Spears has lost physical custody of her kids, according to TMZ. The pop princess has about 48 hours left with her two sons before they are taken away from her.
L.A. County Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon issued an order today stating that baby daddy Kevin Federline “is to retain physical custody of the minor children on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 12:00 PM until further order of the court.”
X17 reports Britney took the kids to the drive-thru at Carl’s Jr. at 12:02PM today and surrendered the kids to K-Fed’s bodyguard three minutes later.
Gordon previously found that Britney is a “habitual, frequent and continuous” user of alcohol and controlled substances.
Just yesterday, Britney grabbed dinner at a Greek restaurant in Malibu with her two children — Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.

Wow.. unfortunately, I don’t think this is the “rock bottom” that will make her get her s**t together. Any decent mother wouldn’t let it get to this point.. and the fact that she has let it get this far only proves that she has a real problem, and those kids don’t mean squat to her.
I agree that she needs to be put on suicide watch. Something is seriously wrong with her.
hey everyone, I just have a question. Okay, Kevin gets full custody now but what happens if Brit gets her act together (which I pray to god she does and gets physciatric help) and then wants to fight for full custody. What happens then? Will the kids be taken from their dad just like that or will Kev have to do the 50/50 again? Does anyone know how that works? I was just curious because these kids need stability.
It’s no surprise this happened..I’m surprised it took so LONG for it to happen. MAYBE she’ll realize what her priorities really are and straighten her act up.
If the kids were her only hope, then goddamit she should have done right by them ages ago. It’s a lot harder for mothers who have no money but what is Britney’s greater excuse? she has money, she has help at least the hardships of parenting she doesn’t have. She just lacks brain cells.
The limit is the discovery that she doesn’t even have a Califorinia license…just classic!
Who knows, may be it is not such a blow to Britney kind of people. May be she is happy they are out of her hands. I am sure she has some visitation rights. But K-Fed does not seem the right choice either.
Hope those two poor kids won’t end up at 18 as messed up and waisted as their parents … but it seems a fate not avoidable for them … poor little babies!
I feel sorry for Britney and I am not crazy about Federline, but he’s been a great father to his other kids, so he’s proved himself. I think the boys will be better off with him. They will have extended family because they have a half brother and sister in the children of Shar and Kevin. They’ll probably all be raised as family and I’m sure Britney’s parents will always be welcome and play a major part in their upbringing. This was the best decision. Britney is on a crash course and even though Kevin is a bit opportunistic, I don’t believe he would have done this to Britney if he didn’t have a good reason to. I don’t think he is that diabolical.
This is awful, she doesn’t deserve for her kids to be taken away from her…and as if K-Fed is a reliable father. Let us not forget he left Shar Jackson when she was PREGNANT WITH HIS CHILD!
Britney was given every opportunity by the court to show that she follow the court orders. But driving without a license and who knows if she failed a drug test in the past week, shows the court that she is not a fit parent right now. All the media that follows her, you would think she would keep it on the down low. But nope, she is a fame ***** and on these pages almost everyday.
#13 no way that the children could go to foster care if there are relatives willing to take them. Courts or CPS does not just take kids away. There has to be a reason. Believe me I’m a social worker.
Maybe it’ll be good for both her and her kids. I mean it’s really hard for a mother to lose her children, but it’ll perhaps make her stronger, and more willing to fight. She’s got to get back on track.
She’s the pop princess, she’s gotta win her title back.

I feel bad for Britney but the kids need to be safe and they are not appearing to be safe with her. Why was she driving around with them in her car with the top down? They need to be kept as private as possible. The Judge must have felt just cause in doing this - probably more to it than we know. I have a feeling her parents have had a big part in this.
Well.. I saw this coming, she continued to do everything wrong even after the judge ordered, not to drink, not to do drugs etc..
I don´t wish harm on no one, but, she needs to be taught a lesson, so that she can grow up and learn with her mistakes.
Hoping she turns to her parents for help and they give it to her and get her real help. Then eventually she can have visitation with her kids when she’s healthy enough.
People, especially mothers, don’t just lose physical custody of their kids - there has to be a darn good reason. Since this is a case involving children, the reason(s) will be kept confidential, as it should be.
If Britney does get her act together, she can petition the court to review the custody terms. There will be a hearing during which the judge will determine if she can regain custody.
Let’s all make excuses for her.
I hope that, losing them temporaly, she’ll learn from her mistakes…

Man I hope this makes her see the light. Whatever’s left of her fans are living in denial, there’s no way she’s a more fit parent than K-Fed, even her own mother sides with him.
Britney needs REAL help and fast. Hopefully this is what she needs to get going. I totally saw this coming too, with the way she’s been acting.
She fought a long and hard battle to dump everyone who were kind and tried to love her.. so she could devote herself to a complete and utterly vulgar-selfish lifestyle. Victory is hers.
If we come to the point of thinking that Kevin is better parent than Britney, Britney should realise now how bad she has become.

That is too bad, she couldn’t be a responsible adult that is. K-fed will take care of the boys, in fact he does a WAY BETTER JOB AT PARENTHOOD THAN SHE WILL EVER DO. SHE MAKES ME SICK. THANK GOD, JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED! I GUESS SHE WILL BE PREPPED FOR A JAIL CELL NEXT.
She already gave up the kids to K-Fed, she didn’t wait till Wednesday. It really bothers me that a mother can not love her child enough to make a change. This is not human or normal. She only cares about herself and that is so sad.
