Brad Pitt Goes on ‘Parade’
Brad Pitt tells Parade that one thing that is certain are his kids, Maddox, 6, Pax, 3, Zahara, 2, and Shiloh, 16 months. Here are some snippets from his interview:
On his increasing doubt in religion as he got older: “I had crises of faith. I thought you had to experience things if you want to know right from wrong. I’d go to Christian revivals and be moved by the Holy Spirit, and I’d go to rock concerts and feel the same fervor. Then I’d be told, ‘That’s the Devil’s music! Don’t partake in that!’ I wanted to experience things religion said not to experience.”
On having scuttled his fundamentalist beliefs by the time he entered college: “When I got untethered from the comfort of religion, it wasn’t a loss of faith for me, it was a discovery of self,” he says. “I had faith that I’m capable enough to handle any situation. There’s peace in understanding that I have only one life, here and now, and I’m responsible.”
On his faith in his family: “What’s important to me is that I’ve defined my beliefs and lived according to them and not betrayed them. One of those is my belief in my family. I still have faith in that.”
On his early taste with fame: “When fame really hit me was when ‘Legends of the Fall’ was released. You get no warning about what celebrity is or how to deal with it. It’s sort of multitiered. The initial stage is feeling discombobulated and not up to the task. I didn’t understand the incessant attention when I went outside, the way people completely focused on me. It made me very uncomfortable. Then you start to see the fickleness of celebrity that it isn’t rooted in something of real value. There is this strange wanting by people to get next to you. It has nothing to do with you but with something they feel they are missing in themselves.”
On the crazy paparazzi: “I understand the tabloid machine. There’s money to be made off of Angie and me, but it has gotten so out-of-hand. There’s no decency, even when it comes to our kids. I mean, yesterday Angie was taking Maddie off to school. There were 30 paparazzi outside. One guy sticks a video camera in Mad’s face, yelling, ‘Maddox! Maddox!’ He doesn’t get a response. He doesn’t know my boy. Mad is already savvy to this, unfortunately. But my 2-year-old dreads being anyplace there are cameras. It scares her. They’re all in her face. My kids are faced with this every day! It’s disgusting. So we’ve been run out of L.A., all the major cities. We just can’t live there. You don’t understand–this is the hunt, the hunt, the hunt! I thought it might be over a year ago. It’s gotten worse.”

He’s in such great spirits. He’s a really smart man who has grown into someone I’m really impressed by all the time. He’s a good friend. And what an amazing dad.”

Why suddenly all the haters come at the same time and they all are talking about same B.S over and over again?THAT`S WEIRD.
IGNORE THEM,FANS I BEG YOU PLEASE IGNORE THEM.
Angelina Jolie is “more internal and reserved,” while Pitt is “ebullient and open. They’re both very smart, curious, generous people.”
Mr and Mrs Smith writer Simon Kinberg
I met Pitt in July. They rode a bus so Pitt could see Katrina’s devastation himself. Sure, he’s charming, she says, but more important, “he’s just a really smart, good person. He has none of the inflated ego you’d think of when you think of movie stars. He’s straightforward.”
Pam Dashiell, president of New Orleans’ Holy Cross Neighborhood Association
I see Pitt has not outgrown his pr ways. If he was aware of the injustices in the world, how come for 40 years of his existence he did not do anything about it. Amazingly, less than 4 months after working with Angelina he is contacting Bono to see how he can help. And since his hookup with Angelina he is now known as a humanitarian more than before, it is very idiotic of him to be dismissive of Angelina’s influence on him on that aspect of his life.
I am very wary of Brad. He has used Angelina’s contact and influence to improve his image from a dumb eye candy to a respected humanitarian who with the help of Angelina is raising money for his charity in New Orleans and yet he finds it dificult to give her props the way she gives him. His fans always say he is private, but not private enough to talk about his college girlfriend and the infuence she had on him. He is afraid of saying something that will offend the mini van minority at the detriment of the mother of his children.
Angelina has taken so much beating in the media because of him and he cannot be man enough to speak up for her, and yes, before you post Angelina’s quote of him being more man than any man she has kown, when the men in her life have included Voight and Billy Bob, that is not exactly saying much and besides she doesn’t have a publicist to keep her informed of what is written and instruct her on what to say in response.
Brad will get my respect when he says what he feels as opposed to what he thinks will appeal to some people.
I heart Angelina Jolie, she is FIERCE, that is something Pitt will never be.

Ditto. I’m glad someone agrees with me.
I bet the Brad fans will post those quotes where Brad says Angie is his great love.. Blah blah PR talk.. Anyways, he is never enthusiastic when he says love for Angie. i.e. Check out the Jesse James interview at TIFF, where he talks about Jolie, and his GMA interview.. He’s never enthusiastic, and always looks down when talking about her.
Like anybody who’s worked with him, I’ve become a huge fan. At some point. it’s got to be a burden being the coolest guy on the planet. I mean, we’re all looking to him for guidance. But he wears it so well. I have enormous affection and respect for him. He’s a really good actor. When you look like that, it’s hard to get people to pay attention to what you’re actually doing. He’s fearless. I don’t know anyone else in his position who’s taken the chances he has.

“He was quite nice - really smart and funny. His kids are adorable and Angelina is beautiful. I have a lot of admiration for her.”

“It’s sort of like now, having seen Brad and Angelina in a movie together, I just thought they were the most astonishing couple. You go, ‘Oh my God, this is fun to watch.’ It just knocked my socks off. I thought, Whoa! This is so good the way they are together. It’s magic, magic.” - Diane Keaton [Premiere Magazine]

I love this quote. it is magic and it is fate Brad and Angie have met and have fallen in love and have built a happy family.
“There’s something amazing about him,” Fincher said. “He can say horrible (things) and if he smiles at you, you say, ‘Oh, OK.’
“I trust him. When he says I’ve got to do this this way, you go, ‘OK.’
David Fincher
“Brad’s not just trying to be the big-shot guy that takes all the accolades; he’s giving, he’s adopting, he’s loving. I believe me and him connect on that level.”

Brad, you know it doesn’t seem like he needs too much of my advice,” “He’s got it going on.
Will Smith
“I like them very much,” “They’re bright, interested in what’s going on, open to everything, ready to grab everything they can out of life. They’re not wasting a lot of time being movie stars. They’re taking advantage of it to see, listen and learn. Their love affair is obviously not for the benefit of the press; they seem extremely happy and comfortable together.”
LESLIE CARON
“I never knew anyone who looked like Brad Pitt in real life. You see Brad Pitt and you go, ‘Wow, that’s a movie star. That’s what a movie star looks like.’
Zach Braff star of the TV show Scrubs
Brad Pitt is an extraordinary man. He’s this, you know, gigantic movie star but he’s very modest. He just said ‘Is there anything I can do for you?’”

About the Make It Right Project
Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans. The slow reaction to the initial emergency and to the ongoing crisis exposed troubling realities about the response capabilities of the American government when the citizens of our most culturally diverse city were in desperate need of help.
When Brad Pitt visited the Lower 9th Ward for the first time after the storm, he was shocked by what he saw: the remnants of people’s lives strewn across the streets and an entire neighborhood torn apart and turned upside down. Pitt was even more disturbed by the lack of a clear plan to address the situation. Many were quietly saying there was no chance the Lower 9th Ward would ever be re-built.
In a series of community meetings, residents of the Lower 9th Ward told Pitt about the challenges their community faced, both before and after the storm. The rising cost of energy placed a strain on the low-income households of the neighborhood and residents expressed concern about worsening environmental conditions. Their concerns have been validated by many scientists, who have concluded that climate change is increasing the frequency and strength of hurricanes, resulting in the erosion of wetlands and barrier islands that once protected the coast. The residents of the Lower 9th Ward told Pitt that while their terrible crisis had exposed their vulnerability, Katrina had also created an opportunity: to build something better than what had existed before.
Inspired by the courage and hope of the residents he met, Pitt resolved to do whatever he could to help them rebuild. Just as importantly, he wanted to help recreate and nurture the unique culture and spirit of the Lower 9th Ward, which symbolizes the soul of New Orleans. He understood instinctively that a New Orleans rebuilt without the 9th Ward would never be whole.
He began by working with Global Green to sponsor an architecture competition aimed at generating ideas about how to rebuild sustainably. Pitt worked with local community leaders as well as experts from around the world to develop viable ideas for the Lower 9th Ward. That successful project inspired Pitt’s new focus: Make It Right.
The Mission of Make It Right is clear: It is to be a catalyst for redevelopment of the Lower 9th Ward, by building a neighborhood comprised of safe and healthy homes that are inspired by Cradle to Cradle thinking, with an emphasis on a high quality of design, while preserving the spirit of the community’s culture. The goal is to accomplish this quickly, so that the first residents can begin returning to their homes as soon as possible.
The Make it Right core team assembled by Pitt includes experts such as:
* William McDonough + Partners, a world leader in environmental architecture
* Cherokee Gives Back Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Cherokee Investment Partners, a firm that specializes in remediation and sustainable redevelopment of environmentally impaired properties
* Graft, an innovative architecture firm that Pitt has collaborated with on projects around the world
* Trevor Neilson and Nina Killeen, advisors to the Jolie-Pitt Foundation
This core team is working in tandem with leaders of a local, neighborhood led coalition of not-for-profits, and has expanded to include renowned local, national and international architecture firms, to ensure that the focus on – and commitment to – the Lower 9th Ward is demonstrably diverse and reflective of Brad Pitt’s dedication to giving this critical neighborhood access to the best expertise available. In short, they are working to “Make it Right”.

Now it all makes since to me how he could drop his wife like a dog, his sense of “Self” explains it all. He is filthy rich, he chose his profession, does not need to work another day in his life. Why not move to some obsure location so his children could live a normal life? Because he thrives on publicity, fame & all its trappings. Very sad.
#356: alright! I am reposting another song to add to the Celebration theme:
WE ARE FAMILY by Sister Sledge:
(CHORUS)
We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up ev’rybody and sing
Ev’ryone can see we’re together
As we walk on by
(FLY!) and we fly just like birds of a feather
I won’t tell no lie
(ALL!) all of the people around us they say
Can they be that close
Just let me state for the record
We’re giving love in a family dose
(CHORUS x2)
Living life is fun and we’ve just begun
To get our share of the world’s delights
(HIGH!) high hopes we have for the future
And our goal’s in sight
(WE!) no we don’t get depressed
Here’s what we call our golden rule
Have faith in you and the things you do
You won’t go wrong
This is our family Jewel
(REPEAT CHORUS TO FADE)
