OlderBrad Pitt Goes on ‘Parade’
Brad Pitt tells Parade that one thing that is certain are his kids, Maddox, 6, Pax, 3, Zahara, 2, and Shiloh, 16 months. Here are some snippets from his interview:
On his increasing doubt in religion as he got older: “I had crises of faith. I thought you had to experience things if you want to know right from wrong. I’d go to Christian revivals and be moved by the Holy Spirit, and I’d go to rock concerts and feel the same fervor. Then I’d be told, ‘That’s the Devil’s music! Don’t partake in that!’ I wanted to experience things religion said not to experience.”
On having scuttled his fundamentalist beliefs by the time he entered college: “When I got untethered from the comfort of religion, it wasn’t a loss of faith for me, it was a discovery of self,” he says. “I had faith that I’m capable enough to handle any situation. There’s peace in understanding that I have only one life, here and now, and I’m responsible.”
On his faith in his family: “What’s important to me is that I’ve defined my beliefs and lived according to them and not betrayed them. One of those is my belief in my family. I still have faith in that.”
On his early taste with fame: “When fame really hit me was when ‘Legends of the Fall’ was released. You get no warning about what celebrity is or how to deal with it. It’s sort of multitiered. The initial stage is feeling discombobulated and not up to the task. I didn’t understand the incessant attention when I went outside, the way people completely focused on me. It made me very uncomfortable. Then you start to see the fickleness of celebrity that it isn’t rooted in something of real value. There is this strange wanting by people to get next to you. It has nothing to do with you but with something they feel they are missing in themselves.”
On the crazy paparazzi: “I understand the tabloid machine. There’s money to be made off of Angie and me, but it has gotten so out-of-hand. There’s no decency, even when it comes to our kids. I mean, yesterday Angie was taking Maddie off to school. There were 30 paparazzi outside. One guy sticks a video camera in Mad’s face, yelling, ‘Maddox! Maddox!’ He doesn’t get a response. He doesn’t know my boy. Mad is already savvy to this, unfortunately. But my 2-year-old dreads being anyplace there are cameras. It scares her. They’re all in her face. My kids are faced with this every day! It’s disgusting. So we’ve been run out of L.A., all the major cities. We just can’t live there. You don’t understand–this is the hunt, the hunt, the hunt! I thought it might be over a year ago. It’s gotten worse.”

It is delusional people like you that make me laugh. Angelina post BBT and after adopting Maddox was wonderful. She had respect, people did not question her sincerity about her humanitarian work until he and his ex wife’s merger imploded and their pr people worked their magic for both of them and threw Angelina under the bus.
Don’t show your ignorance by saying Brad did humanitarian work before Angelina, yes, driving his Prius. Did he not know about Africa for 40 years? How come he only became passionate about injustice in the world and wanting to do something about it. I applaud him for getting off the couch and his tanning bed to do something, but why is it hard for him to publicly acknowledge that Angie was the catalyst? He was with his ex wife for 7 years and he was never invited to any of the gatherings where the world powers congregate. Last year in Davos he looked like fish out of water.
Angelina never complained about BBT until after the relationship was over, so for those od you suggesting that Angelina is not complaining so she must not mind is so simple minded and stupid.
I hope for the sake of their children that he finds out what is truly important before it is too late.

This is not a fansite. Brangelina fans are so hypocritical. First they say haters should leave, yet they’re always trolling the X’s threads. I’m not an X fan, but I am an Angie fan. I’m part of a minority of Angie fans who HATE PR BOY Brad.

I’m just glad to know that I’m not the only Angelina Jolie fan who haters PR boy Brad Pitt. Jolie is constantly ridiculed by the media and has the image of a homewrecker and PR humanitarian, even though she’re more REAL than the fake Brad Pitt who only cares about his image. Brad benefitted from hooking up with Angelina. Not only was Angelina blamed for ruinging his marriage, he also got Jolie’s credit as a parent (now Jolie is criticised for working too hard, even though Pitt has 10 times more films projects), and her humanitarian credit (he didn’t even acknowledge that she influenced him, even though we know that he never visited third world countries pre-Jolie).

Pitt announced his plan at today’s meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative, where he challenged attendees to join him and Bing in rebuilding the Lower Ninth Ward. Pitt pledged to match $5 million in contributions to the project. Bing has pledged to match $5 million in contributions as well, for a total of $10,000,000 in matching funds.

As an Angelina fan, not a Brad fan, I have always seen through Brad’s PR fakeness. Jolie doesn’t care about the tabloids, so she never responds to rumors. But Brad is always first to jump on tabloid gossip if it paints him as something negative. But when it’s a negative story about Jolie, Brad/his publicist never talk about it. Not all Brad haters, are X fans. We happen to be Jolie fans, believe it or not. The majority of the “Brangelina fans” here are originally Brad fans, so it’s hard for Jolie fans to get their opinion accrossed without being called trolls. That’s hypocritical, cause Brad fans are always at the X’s thread, acting as trolls.
Way to go Brad, you are such an inspiration to people around world. We love you, we admire you and we support you. Angie is one lucky girl.

It’s such a shame the way this family has to live, and I do agree, the kids should not be subjected to it. I do love seeing pictures of them all, but they need peace, and if we dont see any more pictures of these kids from pap shots, I will be fine with it
