OlderBrad Pitt Goes on ‘Parade’
Brad Pitt tells Parade that one thing that is certain are his kids, Maddox, 6, Pax, 3, Zahara, 2, and Shiloh, 16 months. Here are some snippets from his interview:
On his increasing doubt in religion as he got older: “I had crises of faith. I thought you had to experience things if you want to know right from wrong. I’d go to Christian revivals and be moved by the Holy Spirit, and I’d go to rock concerts and feel the same fervor. Then I’d be told, ‘That’s the Devil’s music! Don’t partake in that!’ I wanted to experience things religion said not to experience.”
On having scuttled his fundamentalist beliefs by the time he entered college: “When I got untethered from the comfort of religion, it wasn’t a loss of faith for me, it was a discovery of self,” he says. “I had faith that I’m capable enough to handle any situation. There’s peace in understanding that I have only one life, here and now, and I’m responsible.”
On his faith in his family: “What’s important to me is that I’ve defined my beliefs and lived according to them and not betrayed them. One of those is my belief in my family. I still have faith in that.”
On his early taste with fame: “When fame really hit me was when ‘Legends of the Fall’ was released. You get no warning about what celebrity is or how to deal with it. It’s sort of multitiered. The initial stage is feeling discombobulated and not up to the task. I didn’t understand the incessant attention when I went outside, the way people completely focused on me. It made me very uncomfortable. Then you start to see the fickleness of celebrity that it isn’t rooted in something of real value. There is this strange wanting by people to get next to you. It has nothing to do with you but with something they feel they are missing in themselves.”
On the crazy paparazzi: “I understand the tabloid machine. There’s money to be made off of Angie and me, but it has gotten so out-of-hand. There’s no decency, even when it comes to our kids. I mean, yesterday Angie was taking Maddie off to school. There were 30 paparazzi outside. One guy sticks a video camera in Mad’s face, yelling, ‘Maddox! Maddox!’ He doesn’t get a response. He doesn’t know my boy. Mad is already savvy to this, unfortunately. But my 2-year-old dreads being anyplace there are cameras. It scares her. They’re all in her face. My kids are faced with this every day! It’s disgusting. So we’ve been run out of L.A., all the major cities. We just can’t live there. You don’t understand–this is the hunt, the hunt, the hunt! I thought it might be over a year ago. It’s gotten worse.”

Lurking , you are not a fan of Brad, that is a given, and you seem to have alot of anger at him because he is with Angie, Brad said in details, and a few other articles that Angie has had an influence with him. If you have followed his career Brad has always given but more privately, Is giving discreetly wrong? Angelina turned her life around after Maddox, however her past behavior kissing Billy Bob on the red carpet, the blood in whatever, the oscar telecast with her brother, and her announcing on Barbara Walters that she had taken a lover, etc…I could on. The media helped twist some of those things, however it was her behavior , her words. That still follow her today. When diane sawyer interviewed her ,she asked Brad about those very things, Brad cut her off and defended Angie. Did that stop the nastiness? No, Angelina’s past (pre brad) is going to always follow her that is why it is still talked about to this day, that is why some of the hate is still thrown at her. If Brad had hooked up with Reese Witherspoon, the outrage would not be the same. It has to do with not only Angie image as a bad girl, but Brad image as “golden boy” It is a image, none of us no these people, so we can only go by their words. Brad has said Angie is a good egg, a great person. Angie has given Brad props. Has the attacks stopped? No they have not

My point is Brad was involved in charites and helping others before Angelina. Of course after meeting Angelina he became more outward but to just dismiss the things he did before in met Angelina would also be wrong.

Hey lurking, instead of talking to yourself, try using one name when doing so.
I did not realize that some of Angelina fans felt so frustrated with Brad. What more do you want him to do exactly? He is being a very helpful partner and good father to their kids. He told the Italian TV that Angie is his great love and a fantastic mother. Isn’t that the greatest compliment?
#462: lurking, it seems some used to relate to the wild Angie but can’t seem to get a handle on the new and improved Angie so they want the old one back. If the person herself was not happy before and she is now, not to mention at peace with what she is doing and is feeling a lot motivated to do more, then I don’t see why some people are trying to hold her back.
You gotta get out of high school sometime and go be in the real world. Games and mischief belong in your teens not in adulthood. When you’ve reached the age of majority, you have to act responsibly and learn that the world is a big place full of different people. You have a choice of being a burden or a contributor to society and gratefully, Angie chose the latter. She’s still fun loving and a little mischievous but she keeps that mostly for Brad and her family now. She’s happy where she is and if you are a true fan who cares for her, you would let her spread her wings and fly. She wants to be a good humanitarian, a loving and supportive partner and a fantastic mother. Give her what she wants.

Sure, she’s an actress with five projects in process, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, UN Goodwill Ambassador, and African-aid advocate, etc., etc., etc., but Angelina still picks up the kids — and takes them home.
Angie was spotted by TMZ picking up little Maddox up at that fancy-pantaloons school on the Upper East Side, and then swung around and got Mad’s little bro and sis, Pax and Zahara, at their day care. The Jolie-Pitt quartet made their way back to the fam’s hotel, where Z charmed the staff and paps with her fluffy pens and wide-eyed gaze.
I ask if his charitable work is the result of his relationship with Miss Jolie.
