OlderSarah Wayne Callies: FOX Made Me Quit
According to an interview in French magazine Tele Star, former Prison Break star Sarah Wayne Callies, aka Dr. Sara Tancredi, was forced to quit the show. Here is a rough translation of the interview (if the magazine is credible):
Big surprise on Prison Break. We hear that you’re leaving the show in the third season. Yes, but I didn’t have the choice. I’m sad, but it’s just show business.
You weren’t expecting this? No, at the end of season 2 last year. I was sure I’d continue. It’s such a great adventure we achieved.
How did you know you were fired? I don’t want to speculate too much about this. I was shocked.
Your leaving the show was a big deal. You have to tell us more! I’ll just say this. I am sorry to let down the viewers. I have loved the support Sara Tancredi got from them. and though she was a victim of her own destiny, I liked how she made decisions by herself. But the way things ended up couldn’t have been foreseen. Again, I was deceived by the decision.
How did your fellow actors react? They told me ‘It’s too bad. I loved working with you and good luck, we hope we can work together again.’
And Wentworth [Miller]? We were so sad that we wouldn’t work together anymore. Wentworth is a gentleman. He’s gracious and full of class. And i learned a lot from him. But in a series like “Prison Break,” apart from Wentworth, anyone can go. When I took the role of Sara, I thought it’d be for only a year. Afterwards, I was so happy to get a second year.
If they call you back, will you accept? Of course! I don’t have another role right now. Right now, I need to find work.
How will Sara make her exit from the series? I don’t know. I’m not part of the team anymore and don’t have any influence on the storyline.
How is being a mom to baby Keala? It’s a rich experience and unpredictable. You can’t plan anything. (Keala was born in July 2007.)
What projects do you currently have today? I’ll rest another month in Vancouver (Canada). Afterwards, I’ll go to California for a little bit. After that, I’d like to do theater in New York. I honed my skills on the stage and I miss it.

TELLING INTERVIEW! Anyway, how was yesterday’s Prison Break episode “Call Waiting”? How LAME was Tancredi’s body double? And the lame voiceover voice? And what do you think is in the box that Lincoln opened up at the very end of the episode? Somebody’s finger of decapitated head, perhaps?

So THIS is why we get some ri-dic-u-lous scenes of a fake Sarah held hostage? Cheeseball cheapasses couldn’t even bring her back to kill the character off with some drama and dignity? I loved the Sarah character and lord knows it’ll be her head in that oooh-spooky box **rolls eyes**

May you see if Fox can confirm this? If this is true, it is going to make Fox people and PB people look pretty awful. Because it appears she may have been let go for being pregnant and/or having a baby.
i do not believe this at all. she will be coming back nex season and for season 3 her role will be portrayed skillfully. She is just having some time off with the baby……………………..and by the way what are the reasons for her dismissal that is so not an issue………….she was great in there anfd i believe she will be back

I think its more believable that Sarah Wayne Callies decided to leave the show in order to be a full time mom. Also its possible that Fox just wants everyone to believe that sarah isn’t coming back so that they can keep the show interesting.

Same here, I’ll wait for an “official” announcement and I was thinking the same thing “How did the Tele-Star get the scoop before a US source did?!?! I wonder what type of magazine the Tele-Star is, a tabloid type mag or a pretty reliable mag!? I have a feeling it’s hogwash, but we’ll see, I could be wrong!

love the show. it’s brilliantly executed and always suspenseful in spite of all the time viewers had to wait for new episodes!
i hope the rumor isn’t true. their relatinship took such a long time to develop and now they want sarah out?
sarah’s ugly, and her character sucked. thank god she’s gone, she served no purpose on the show. i hope its her head in that box and linc uses it for a soccer ball
I wish they would bring Sarah Wayne Callies back to close out her storyline with the real actress. I really hope that they would at least give her character that much time so that the story ends properly. Even Mischa Barton got killed off The OC acting her own part and without a look-alike actress. If this article is realistic I would think that if Sarah Wayne Callies knew they wanted her off the show that she would at least agree to go back for one episode to film her own death. And there is no way they could have fired her for being pregnant. Thats illegal.

I agree, and if in fact this is all true, she should be able to come back and film her death, if she doesn’t come back at least for one episode the storyline won’t feel complete.
They can’t show her being killed using a body double, because that body double they used last night wasn’t believable, looked like a man with a wig on, IMO. Also, why did they use a voiceover, even tho she’s on maternity leave they could of used her voice, no? unless it’s true and they did fire her??!!??
If she’s not able to come back to film her own death the only other option would be: her head in that box!

They better not kill Sara. PB needs a little romance with all the suspense going on. Where can I email Fox to tell them of my displeasure if ever they did that? And the body double last night was horrible. Sara is an essential part of PB.
Maybe they wanted her to come back to record those phone calls and she threw a hissy fit and refused to do that. Didn’t they say that about Jorja Fox? Maybe the real scoop was about Sarah Wayne Callies. I always thought she looked like a secret diva who was just badly faking nice.

Sorry but last nights double for Sara was fake,fake,fake. Either Fox is very cheap or they have lost another chance to keep this show on the air and viewers. Michaels reason for breaking Fishman out is Sara.They have build a love story from seson one with the two of them, so to just drop one of the characters at this point seems to be dropping one of the main points of the whole show. Michael has gone though hell, but at least we had hoped he would end up with the love of his life-SARA. Without this his brother is free and he has lost everything.

hellooooo… elane, remember when FOX canceled DRIVE by after a couple of “mischedules” and aborted the airplay of the last 2 episodes by downgrading them to “online only” status? in favor for airing some MORONIC SITCOM called “THE LOOP”??? even i was getting to like KEVIN ALEAJANDRO too.(now he’s killed of of “ugly betty” and jumped to “shark”)….
