OlderSarah Wayne Callies: FOX Made Me Quit
According to an interview in French magazine Tele Star, former Prison Break star Sarah Wayne Callies, aka Dr. Sara Tancredi, was forced to quit the show. Here is a rough translation of the interview (if the magazine is credible):
Big surprise on Prison Break. We hear that you’re leaving the show in the third season. Yes, but I didn’t have the choice. I’m sad, but it’s just show business.
You weren’t expecting this? No, at the end of season 2 last year. I was sure I’d continue. It’s such a great adventure we achieved.
How did you know you were fired? I don’t want to speculate too much about this. I was shocked.
Your leaving the show was a big deal. You have to tell us more! I’ll just say this. I am sorry to let down the viewers. I have loved the support Sara Tancredi got from them. and though she was a victim of her own destiny, I liked how she made decisions by herself. But the way things ended up couldn’t have been foreseen. Again, I was deceived by the decision.
How did your fellow actors react? They told me ‘It’s too bad. I loved working with you and good luck, we hope we can work together again.’
And Wentworth [Miller]? We were so sad that we wouldn’t work together anymore. Wentworth is a gentleman. He’s gracious and full of class. And i learned a lot from him. But in a series like “Prison Break,” apart from Wentworth, anyone can go. When I took the role of Sara, I thought it’d be for only a year. Afterwards, I was so happy to get a second year.
If they call you back, will you accept? Of course! I don’t have another role right now. Right now, I need to find work.
How will Sara make her exit from the series? I don’t know. I’m not part of the team anymore and don’t have any influence on the storyline.
How is being a mom to baby Keala? It’s a rich experience and unpredictable. You can’t plan anything. (Keala was born in July 2007.)
What projects do you currently have today? I’ll rest another month in Vancouver (Canada). Afterwards, I’ll go to California for a little bit. After that, I’d like to do theater in New York. I honed my skills on the stage and I miss it.

According to E!News, SWC decided on her own not to come back “this season.” So that she could devote her time to time to the the more important role of playing a new mom. The words “this season” were mentioned at the end, so maybe there is hope.
In a Canadian radio show she did say she wanted out of her contract because this season there was not going to be alot of sara.So i guess this mag article is full of it, it was Sarah herself who wanted out of PB she was not fired.I wonder if all this hype is to keep people tuned in and she really won’t be off the show.
What does this mean ah??!!She is the prison break in the essential role,I really miss her.I can only say that please come back Sara!!~~~~
what annoys me is all the build up for the relationship (TWO seasons!!!) with so very little pay-off. i feel toyed with and strung along.

Not sure if you guys remember what ABC did to Vaughn on ALIAS. They “faked” his death and rumors that the actor had been fired was posted everywhere. We didn’t see the character for a good part of the season but eventually, the actor came back for the finale.
As for SWC, I think the show just wanted to give her some time to spend with her baby. They might even “presume” that Sara is dead but eventually, we are going to see Sara back with Michael for the finale.
I’m hoping that we’ll get a MISA reunion before the end of S3. Beside in the PB magazine a few months ago, some of the writers said that the MISA story was going to continue in S3 and that the viewers would get what they’ve been waiting for all along. They said that they are themselves big fans of MISA and knew how much they were also loved by the fans.
Do you really think that the writers, producers, etc. would risk pissing off a lot of people by killing Sara?
If they are…well, they better start looking for new jobs because this show might not even make it till the Spring.
Can’t wait to see what’s in that freakin box. The suspense is killing me but with PB, I know to expect the unexpected.

They are both tiresome as individual actors so together only made it that much more laughable to watch!
..the fact that she is blabbing about being forced to quit by FOX..shows clear stupidity. She’s no power house actress with an Emmy or Oscar nod…Fox will blacklist this woman in a sec…next time we’ll see her is in info commercial.

have you noticed that in the picture that michael had in his hand, sara was holding a newspaper in front of her???…a prop hiding SWC’s “baby bump” LOL!!
I’m still on the fence as to whether she’s really gone or not. If this is a ploy to string along viewers, then very clever. If she’s gone, I really doubt FOX would fire her, after reading several people here say the Tele-Star is not a reliable source, I’m leaning toward the idea that it could be her own decision, if in fact any of this is true.
Even though I wasn’t feeling the chemistry with Mike/Sara last season, ALOT of other fans were and FOX has to know this and killing her off so soon or at all could be a major disaster for Prison Break.
105 that idea of her faking her own death or the show making you believe she is dead and presto she shows up alive and well in the finale would be so Prison Break style. “IF” this is all a ruse and she does show up on PB, she better do the dirty with Scofield PRONTO! Hear that Prison Break people, we (or I) want some hot action preferably with Wentworth’s shirt off, please! Am I asking too much for his pants to be off too?
chill folks. first off do we know that the magazine isn’t just a trashy gossip thing that twists stuff. second do we know that the translation is actually 100% legit. for all we know neither are and the words have been misreported.
then there’s the issue that in the US it is 100% illegal to fire someone from a job, any job, for being pregs. especially when she’s not pregs anymore. they dealt with the issue when she was just fine. and could have continued that way.
for all we know, the “deception” is that they originally planned to have Sara back right away but then as they developed the story they realized that it would be better if they chased her without seeing her for the better part of the season. even if they cut Ms Callies from the series regulars there’s issues of her pay per guest spot being really high compared to a double, issues of putting her in the credits blowing the story and the detail that a photo double allows them to do things like have Linc think he sees her but can’t be sure. which is better for the story. thus they pulled her contract, which is legal for them to do for story (and has nothing to do with her pregnancy or being a mother) and said that they would likely want to bring her back as a guest later in the season or next season. but this way she’s free to do other things and they save money. win-win.

Oh that’s right, her name wasn’t on the opening credits of that 17 minute clip Jared posted a while ago and it wasn’t on the opening credits of episode 1 either. (not clear on episode 2 & 3 but I assume not)

The problem with these shows is that the Actors get a lot of credit when the show is successful. Soon the writer’s become jealous and try to lessen the part of the Actor to take away the actors impact and power on the show…basically it’s a power struggle the Writers, producer & directors want everyone to know who’s boss.
My guess is they are trying to edge out Wentworth and make Dom the main character. If Sara’s gone that makes it hard for Michael to have a reason to fight. The forget the audience has chosen Went & Sara as the main story….NO amount of good writing is going to change that.
They will shoot themselves in the foot, because I’m sure Wentworth will leave next season….THAT WILL BE THE END OF PRISION BREAK…and to be honest I’m ok with that.
Will ‘Prison Break’ Star Return This Season?

A lot of blood has been spilled since the first season of Prison Break began on FOX. Many major characters have not been able to survive the prison, the police, and the secret agents. BuddyTV has learned that a major character from Prison Break will not be returning this season after fans were assured that she would. According to TV Guide today, Sarah Wayne Callies will not be returning to the show after having given birth. It’s reported that her character, Sara Tancredi, will be shown only in shadow and her voice only heard through recorded voiceovers. It seems inevitable, therefore, that she will be killed off early on to end her storyline.
FOX was quick to dispel the rumors started by TV Guide, releasing a statement to the entertainment website, JustJared.com today stating, “Actually – the network and studio has not confirmed that Sarah Wayne Callies has departed the series this season. Dr. Sara Tancredi plays a significant part in the storyline this year.” Is FOX just stalling or creating a buzz in time for the season three premiere, coming up September 17? Only time will tell.
FOX has been good to Callies over the last few years. Her character was not supposed to return after the first season and writers paved the way for that to become a reality. Fans may remember that at the end of season one, Sara Tancredi was almost killed after agents tried to make it look like she killed herself. Prison Break kept her character on as a love interest for Michael and fans became invested in her storyline.
Die hard Prison Break fans are skeptical, posting on Television Without Pity’s message boards that they’ll believe it when they see it. Only time will tell. It was announced back in January that Callies had become pregnant and it was unclear how the writers would handle that. At the time her pregnancy was announced, a FOX spokesperson said it would not affect the current season storyline however, “as for next season, it’s too soon to tell. We all wish Sarah the best.” This is the first child for the 29-year-old actress and her husband, Josh Winterhault.

I worked for this magazine 7 months ago and this magazine is really credible, it is one reference in France and in Belgium. They always talk to their source and celebrities love this magazine who doesn’t sell ‘rumours’ & sensational..that’s not a “paparazzi” magazine but a reliable source.

they’ll loose lots and lots of viewers (incluiding myself) who love Sarah’s character and the MiSa romance..
I think it’s time to FOX to say something about it and put an end in all of those rumors ..they’re driving PB fans crazy so FOX should care more about it and tell us the truth!!
