The former Friends star is the top cover star, according to Forbes‘ first-ever analysis of the top-selling celebrity faces. Her face has collectively sold more than 5 million copies. Here’s who rounded out the top 10?

Think their analysis is hokey? Check out their formula: “We looked at the newsstand sales of the six leading celebrity weeklies– People, Star, US Weekly, In Touch Weekly, Life & Style and OK!–over a six-month period ending June 30, as supplied by the Audit Bureau of Circulations. We eliminated all non-celebrity and collage covers as well as special issues with exceptionally large rate bases. Then we counted how many more–or less–issues the celebrity’s cover sold, as compared with the magazine’s average newsstand sales. Next, we factored in the number of full covers a celebrity graced. Finally, we ranked his or her consumer appeal using data from Encino, Calif.-based polling firm E-Poll Market Research to rule out flukes.”
The biggest disappointment at the newsstand? Britney Spears with an abnormally low appeal score of 3. The only one who scored worse? Paris Hilton, who scored a 2.

In addition to garnering a high appeal score of 36, making her the second-most-liked cover subject behind Sandra Bullock, she proved a success at the newsstand. Chiniston sells mags because she constantly tries to be in the tabloids. First, constantly play the “jilted woman”, second, get your nose and whatever else needs to be done (there are so many imperfections….where to start?). Next she will try to enter rehab or not wear underwear!
It would be nice that this popularity contest wouldn’t involve trashing so badly with someone’s children (the JPs, britney’s, etc.)
The tabloids keep the bermuda triangle alive, it would be interesting to know ho many of these covers say something negative? I think most of these covers are “yellow press”, so it is not so great to be in the first places in mostly tabloid mags, unless you love it, like Lindsay Lohan who once said that it would be weird not to be in them or something like that.
I like the BAMPZS and I do not like them to be in this list, they are popular, but hopefully they will be left in peace for the sake of the kids

Interesting, but it doesn’t make sense. If Brad and Angelina don’t sell, then why am I seeing them on the cover of every single tabloid week after week after week? It’s getting beyond ridiculous. The only thing the tabs care about is their bottom line, just like any other publication; so why would they keep putting them on the cover if they didn’t sell? And lately, when Aniston does make the cover of a tabloid, it’s always connected to some negative story about why she can’t get a man. Is this really what people want to read?
However, I’d be delighted if I never saw Brad and Angelina on the cover of another tabloid. Then maybe people would leave them alone and they would be able to raise their children in peace and quiet. They have no need of tabloids. Aniston, on the other hand, has no existence to speak of outside the tabloids. So if they want to feature her every week, 52 weeks a year, I’m fine with it. I never buy the tabs anyway so it makes no difference to me who they put on their cover.

She’s been featured in two cover articles in the past month about “lonely celebrities — why can’t they get a man” or some title to that effect. The tabs are using her emotional problems and her loneliness to sell their magazines. Why in the world can’t see see it? Or is she so desperate for publicity that she’s turning a blind eye to how pathetic this makes her look?
It’s these kind of articles that are feeding the current image of “Jen is desperate, she can’t keep a man”, yadda yadda yadda. If that’s the only kind of publicity she can generate, she’d be better off hiding under a rock.
One of the tabs (I forget which one and it doesn’t matter, they’re all interchangeable) is already saying she and Orlando Bloom are an item, after Bloom shot the rumor down. Maybe it was too late to cancel their print run, but the damage is done. Another prospect shot to hell. Ditto with Bradley Cooper and Ben Affleck. Not to mention all the articles about her fake engagement to Vince Vaughn and her non-relationship with Paul Sculfor who was just using her to jump-start his failing modeling career, and once that was accomplished, he took off into the night. All Aniston has to do is have her picture taken anywhere near a man’s vicinity and the tabs are all over it screaming about JEN’S NEW MAN!!! It’s getting beyond stale now. She’s turning into a laughing stock.
If Aniston is smart, she will take her $110 million, disappear for a year and completely reinvent herself. Because the way she is going now, nobody is taking her seriously any more as an actress or as a person. She’s just someone to shake your head and laugh at in the tabloids.

The typical tabloid reader is a female with a high school education or a GED working at a low-level job; in other words, someone who isn’t very bright. 1) Jen fans eat all tabloid sh*t .
2) People mag has the highest sales. But remember , people mag only put Angie on the cover for exclusives (Shiloh’s birth, adoption, etc). Yet, Forbes threw out all these sales data saying it’s a one-time event. That means they threw out a lot of numbers since People mag has the biggest circulation. ITA. Forbes survey is totally stupid. In their study Angelina has 17 covers, Britney 18 covers, and Ansiton ahs 6 covers. Of course, the more covers one has, its likely the average tabloid sales diminishes, its like you dont eat hamburger everyday, you vary. Aniston may have 2-3 best selling covers, but if she would be in the cover week after week like Britney and Angelina, im sure her cover sales would go down, precisely tahts why the tabs dont do that. They know they get consistent good sales if they put Angelina or even Britney. And Britney only gets to be in the cover because of her scandals.
THe most idiotic thing is how can they say celeb like Scarlet, Carrie, Jennifer H, or kelly Ripa tabloid bestsellers, when they only grace the cover one or twice. In terms of per tabloid mag sales, maybe its high, but its like just one time. If they sell well, the tabs would put them on the cover all the time, too.
And why would forbes factor the e-consumer poll thing? what does it got to do with tabloid sales? The fact that Britney covers for instance sells, should not be discounted by the fact that her likeability appeal is low beacause of her recent bad behaviour, the numbers should speak for itself.
To me, the reason why Forbes had to factor - e-consumer appeal thing is because they can manipulate the results, and also because they probably needed a sponsor to fund the study.
I thing the best way to calculate who sell the most tabloid mag is plain common sense,
No of covers x sales per cover for the period under study, say for instance:
Angelina - 17 covers x ave sales of 800,000 = 13.6m
Britney - 18 covers x ave sales of 600,000 = 10.8m

But in the past year, Jennifer Aniston has not found love, lost love, become addicted to drugs and/or alcohol, overcome addiction to drug and/or alcohol, gained weight, lost weight, given birth to a child or adopted a child.
It’s a mystery to us that she even gets on the cover of tabloids, let alone sells them. But the list is kind of funny: Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, who’ve done nearly all of those things, didn’t even make it.
So how did Forbes come up with this list of top selling faces?
Forbes.com calculated the tabloid appeal of a celebrity by comparing how many issues a cover sold with the magazine’s average newsstand sales. The Web site then factored in the number of full covers a celeb graced, and ranked his or her consumer appeal using data from Encino, Calif-based polling firm E-Poll Market Research to rule out flukes.
All of which sounds like a lot of work for a list that has no real value. It’s moments like this that we’re glad we’re no longer interns.

I’ve got news for you. Mother Teresa was not the complete sacrifical lamb she and others tried to portray her as. She most certainly did travel well and at times lived well. You need to read up on her. Don’t fall for all the PR about her. The worst example is the discrepancy in the medical care she availed herself of while refusing to use the huge sums of money she received for the most basic of safe and sanitary medical care at her clinics. It was shameful.
You just beleive what you want to believe to buttress your already entrenched opinions and biases about people.

JA is most popular in the tabloids when she is portrayed as single and desperate. Most logically because that is when her fans identify with her most
Angie and Brad are second and most popular when they are portrayed as ‘on the rocks’ - because that is what JA’s fans want to see and read.
Angie and Brad then rank third when they are together and happy because JA’s fans don’t want to read that and none of their fans need to buy a tabloid to tell us that - WE ALREADY KNOW THEY ARE GREAT
So there you have it, my tab breakdown of the numbers.
Oh, I forgot - fourth is JA with a man and happy - and nobody buys that one because her fans can’t identify with that and even they don’t believe it Voila!

As for another useless Forbes poll, I can only say that whenever I see a cover of those tabs at the store they have a million people on the cover. There is NEVER just one person on the cover. How can they possibly know which cover story sold the issue? They can’t. If they are also talking about the cover of fashion mags then those covers are sought after by the celebrity and most of those sales are by subscription or purchased as a matter of course every month by the same women. The cover rarely influences sales of fashion mags.
