Mad has been in school for over a month because they are still in NYC since Brad is filming BAR. They will move him to the Lycee Francais in L.A. when the whole family goes back to L.A. for Angie’s shooting of The Changeling in mid-October. Now, you can go beeyatch at them when they move Madd to the L.A. school. Unless you have a suggestion on how the family can stick together, do their jobs (filming) and keep the kids in school, all at the same time.

So, you can ask the same question in as large of all caps letters as you like, but the answer will still remain the same. They use it when they can. The only way they could get out without being seen by anyone is if they tunnelled across the east river and their car picked them up in Queens.

lara, you are projecting your own insecurities on what you would like for yourself or perhaps what has happened to you in your childhood.
Firstly, you are automatically assuming and implying that “hired help” are not loving or don’t give attention to children they are entrusted with or that children don’t enjoy being around them…I guarantee you, you will be incorrect in most situations. Please don’t be presumptuous.
As a side note, you are also doing a major disservice to all the professionals trained in child care who as a career provide needed services in schools and privately…Certainly children enjoy being around siblings and parents most but socialization and integration at a young age into other surroundings without siblings and parents is developmentally healthy for them. Take university classes on early childhood development, it will help you understand the total picture.
Secondly you are assuming the “hired help” do not have a long term familiarity with these children and vice versa. Mickey and Holly have known Maddox since he was first adopted, consequently they have known all the other children from the beginning of being apart of this family. They may even be around Mickey and Holly more often than most children see their own grandparents.
Also you must not have or be around toddlers, even though MPZS seem very well behaved as observed from limited public photos, the most disciplined of toddlers can be rambunctious at times…a parent has to pick and choose when and where to take a large family on a family outing. The planned individual attention to each child BP and AJ have carefully thought out is very progressive on their part. Much research and literature has been published on this.

Woot, thanks for the information.

Personally, I think that Maddox should go through the front door, just like all the other kids and mums and dads unless Maddox himself wants to go through the side door. Mums of kids know that going home time, the kids assemble, there’s a lot of goodbyes and see you tomorrow’s being said. I’m not convinced Maddox would want to be singled out and taken by a teacher to the side door everyday and be the only one not in the crowd of jostling kids.

SCRIPTLAND: Scorsese’s Oscar does not buy him freedom

Apparently, winning an Academy Award and scoring your biggest box office hit in four decades of filmmaking with the year’s best picture doesn’t buy you any smoother a ride in Hollywood. Right now, with Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. scrabbling over a suitable co-production arrangement, director Martin Scorsese’s next potential project, “The Wolf of Wall Street,” remains stuck in its cage.

On paper, the movie looks like a great investment: Scorsese once again directing his “Aviator” and “Departed” star Leonardo DiCaprio in an adaptation of the just-published cash-coke-and-corruption memoir “The Wolf of Wall Street” adapted by Emmy-winning “Sopranos” writer-producer Terence Winter. The hitch is that it’s set up not at Paramount, where Scorsese has his directing deal, but at Warner Bros., the studio that released “The Departed.”

“Wall Street,” released last week by Bantam Books, is the autobiography of New York stockbroker Jordan Belfort, a flashy, drug-abusing, hooker-hiring, model-marrying master of the universe sent to jail for securities fraud and money laundering in the ’90s. It’s a juicy part for DiCaprio, and he and Scorsese are looking to make this their next movie, ideally completing production before any potential talent strike next summer.

But the film’s immediate future remains iffy.

In late March, right after Scorsese finally won his directing Oscar, Warner Bros. and DiCaprio’s Appian Way production shingle beat out Paramount and Brad Pitt’s Plan B in a brief bidding war for the Scorsese-DiCaprio-Winter “Wall Street” package. But in November 2006, as “The Departed” was shooting its way past the $100-million mark for Warner Bros., Scorsese signed a four-year, first-look directing-producing deal with Paramount.

The hook, similar to arrangements Steven Spielberg has made with DreamWorks, was that if Scorsese were to make a film at a competing studio, Paramount had the option to own half of it and co-distribute. The director has personal and professional ties at both studios, so Scorsese and Co. have been trying to massage a preemptive deal between them before the film’s likely greenlight.

But Scorsese may be sending mixed signals by having taken the Paramount deal (which reportedly is enormous) while Warner Bros. was in the midst of its “Departed” Oscar campaign and then turning around to push for his follow-up to be back at Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. and Paramount have other high-profile co-productions, such as “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and “Beowulf,” which typically entail Paramount taking domestic distribution and Warner Bros. taking international. But thus far on “Wall Street,” Warner Bros. has offered financial halfsies but no co-distribution, which Paramount has rejected.

Technically, Paramount’s option isn’t triggered until Scorsese’s contracts are signed at Warner Bros. and the film is a go, but in the context of an impending strike, nailing the arrangement down as quickly as possible behooves all parties.

As it is, Scorsese has four other features in development at Paramount, which is also releasing his Rolling Stones documentary, “Shine a Light,” sometime next year. And Warner Bros. has two other potential Scorsese projects, so there’s plenty of the beatific Italian genius to go around. (And Scorsese, apparently finding himself under-committed, last week announced that he’s also going to make a documentary about George Harrison over the next couple of years.)

The smart money’s on everyone eventually deciding that they want to be in the Scorsese business even if it means sharing more than they’d like. If they don’t, and this “Wolf” is released back into the wild, there’s bound to be some howling.

This used to be a nice blog to come to and the posters would share great links and information. It has become an awful place filled with people who hate, criticize and say very sick things. I don’t understand why this site isn’t cleaned up.

The Jolie-Pitts press some button inside of some people. They have become scapegoats for people to project their out-of-control rage, unacknowledged and unconscious hatred of themselves. I guess they are just too beautiful, too happy, too good, and making too big an effort to give of themselves and their wealth. It makes some people feel too bad about themselves.

It is hard to believe this level of ugliness exists (we usually only see it in “others”, foreigners, people with a different color skin or religion,”terrorists” ) but I guess that is the way of the world. Logic or truth does nothing to change their minds.They don’t want to know the truth. It is useless to try to convince them the things they say are wrong. This is a perfect example of irrational hatred and blame. Their souls are sick. It is just heartbreaking that there is so much pain in so many people’s hearts that they have become cold, hard and black.

It is hard for me to do because I want to be angry just like them, but I send them love and blessings, and wishes that they become free from the violence in their own hearts. May they heal the wounds inside that make them hurt so much.

The Jolie=Pitts seem to do an admirable job of turning the other cheek and raising polite and good children. I pray for their safety, all of them. They inspire so many.

Thanks to Jared for the new pics. I love that BA try to spend one on one time with the little ones. I also love that they pick up Mad from school each day. Ah, just another day in the fabulous life of the Jolie-Pitts. Look at how happy Maddox is to be picked up by BOTH Mom and Dad - now why wouldn’t they want to put that smile on his face just like any other parents. They could care less if some half-wit on an internet celebrity blog that they will never read thinks it’s for PR.

So my suspicion has been confirmed so far - they can drop off Madd at the side door in the morning and pick him up out front in the afternoon. Makes perfect sense to all but the trolls as usual! And who’s to say that the rest of the kids aren’t in the SUV too? It would make perfect sense as they need to pick up Zee and Pax too (unless they are only doing half a day at pre-school).

The bottom line is that the JP’s are efficient in their movements - they get everyone picked up from work and school and then head home, just like every other family would do. Considering that they roll with BG’s and have paps on their tails 24/7 it’s logical too.

#312, Frenchy…I saw a banner across the front of something just tonight in the drugstore–could have been National Enquirer–that won’t make her very happy. It was something like “Alltime losers”, with the lower caption something like “Hollywood’s permanent losers at love” and the three were Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston, and one more I cannot remember. It is simply awful. Can you imagine being labeled like this for the world to see? I think people who are yelling “Yahoo!” because she is a tabloid favorite don’t realize why she is in them or why people buy them. Not good at all!

Not one nice headline. If there’s nothing negataive to say, they are on a sidebar. Not that it matters because they are TABLOIDS and don’t count for much. Not bad for a movie that most will find too serious and depressing. It’s not a movie I would naturally choose to see with my hubby on our date nights. Still to open in Japan, Australia Germany, singapore, HK etc. etc. etc. I think that the box office returns will make back most if not all the production costs.

And the reason B&A have to be on the covers is because Jen won’t be interesting if not linked to them. I am sure the fanistons are desperate to see their idol hooked up with any guy. In his corner of the ring stand SKEETS, an old gym rat, O’KEEFE (the cop from before), his trainer, DEBBIE, his gorgeous, young wife, and Alice, his tough-as-nails mother and manager. Dickie wins the match with a KO and his mother announces to the world that his next fight will be against SUGAR RAY LEONARD and shown on HBO. The whole arena cheers. Everyone is rooting for Dickie – they all think he’s got a chance. Before the fight, Mickey tries to get his brother into shape; Dickie shrugs it off, but he actually looks scared.
Hiding behind the town’s unwavering support and his own cockiness, Dickie dips into coke with Boo Boo. Mickey grows annoyed when he sees this, but Dickie assures his brother that it’s just a hit to blow off some steam. Meanwhile, Mickey gets close to a girl he’s known (and had the hots for) since grade school, CHARLENE. To prove he’s a serious guy to CHARLENE, Dickie helps Mickey get a job paving, driving a steam-roller.
The Sugar Ray fight comes. And goes. Dickie gives it all he has, but it’s not what Lowell – or Dickie – expected.
1990. Dickie’s gotten paunchy, arms flabby, and his shoulders slump, a mess since the Sugar Ray fights. Mickey’s been fighting now and training with O’Keefe. Mickey admits he doesn’t know much of what his brother does anymore. At a crack house, Dickie both shrugs off the past and desperately tries to hold on to it.
Mickey’s on his way up – big money, a title, all on the horizon. That is, if he keeps winning. Concerned for Dickie, Mickey decides to get him a fight to keep him out of trouble; the only problem is that no one wants Dickie, what with the way he “fights” nowadays. Mickey agrees to fight OSCAR PENA, a boxer two weight classes above his own, in order to get Dickie a match.
Neither match goes well. Mickey is beaten into a pulp and put in the hospital, broken and bloodied; and after almost losing; Dickie catches his opponent off guard and beats him into a coma. After a lengthy recovery, Mickey hands Dickie a wad of cash and tells him he never wants to see him again.
1994. Mickey has professional guys interested in training him. Dickie is now totally alone: a loser and a worthless, toothless junkie. An HBO documentary crew on how crack ruins lives gets him on video for part of the documentary – we see a broken, desperate man.
We pick up again from the scene at the beginning. After escaping from the window, Dickie is caught. Tommy the cop is rough with Dickie and Mickey punches him, but that’s the least of the family’s problems. Dickie is sent to prison for a decade while Mickey decides to go back to a regular job and giving up boxing.

You know that X thread. I was just thinking what kind of headlines came with her being on the cover and I realize that none of it was negative. It was all about her finding new love, getting a new baby, finding happiness. I thik the tabs are playing a trick becasue I think it’s Angelina & Brad who are the happiest they have ever been and X, well…not so much. But a happy Brad & Angelina is not the way the tabs want to go because everyone can’t be happy in the tabloid world.

I agree with your analysis about tablies write ups about x’s new baby, new love, etc though I find them to be a backhanded compliment. Its a bit like saying “Oh look, its poor x, finally, finally, getting it together. Let us all cheer her on and tell her what a great job she is doing picking up on her life after being the woman scorned and dumped for someone more beautiful, more intelligent, more talented, more successful, more courageous, more everything….”. To me, there’s an underlying condescension and pity in the tone.

Remember why people gossip - its to make themselves feel better. A good way to feel better about yourself is to compare yourself to someone who is worse off then you. And so it is with x. Looks pretty good, rich, BUT - ta da - no man, no real career, not much talent, not much of anything and therefore not much threatening. She’s someone you can root for. But I guarantee you that if x ever regains her success, the tablies will want to tear her down again.

The Jolie Pitts?? Alas, they will never lead the pack in tablies and the e score. I remember reading this journalist who had blogged about how she saw the Jolie Pitts in Cannes and said that they were looking “SICKENINGLY BEAUTIFUL AND SICKENINGLY HAPPY”. My first thought was “why sickening???”" Why does the sight of beautiful happy people sicken her or others??

Here’s why, on the surface, the Jolie Pitts seem just too perfect. Natural Beauty, talent, love, family, children, humanitarianism, connections, wealth, intelligence, success, recognition, fame, power, respect of their peers. On the surface at least, tell me one thing that the Jolie Pitts lack aside from privacy and they seem to manage that OK?? A typical tablie reader or blogger can never pity them, or hope to feel better by thinking that the Jolie Pitts are just like them: struggling with self esteem issues, wondering why the last partner just wasn’t into you, rebellious children and just the daily grind of washing, working, preparing dinner, watching TV, yelling at the kids and making ends meet and hoping that your luck will turn and you’ll get a lucky break (yep, without having to go out and seek that luck or opportunity of course, coz why that would take guts and responsibility).

Can you wonder why some people disgusted and disappointed with themselves, their lives, wishing to blame others for their lack of success, might hate the Jolie Pitts? The Jolie Pitts were once people just like them - Brad, middle class, missouri boy. Angelina, lost teenager who could easily have wound up like Lindsay Lohan or Britney spears. And aside from their obvious natural beauty, Brad and Angelina WORKED FOR EVERYTHING THEY’VE GOT. so of course, if you want to read gossips and tablies to feel good about someone feeling bad, well, there’s nothing to gain about Brad and Angelina right now, coz even those readers don’t believe the LIES.

Excellent post! Very insightful and every word true. But most important is exactly what you said: they worked their backsides off for everything they have. They may have won the genetic lottery to give them a bit of a head start but they’ve worked their way up in Hollywood and both have more energy than I can even imagine having.

Maybe that’s why I’m not jealous of them and can just sit back and enjoy and admire as I know I’m way to lazy to work hard enough to have all they have.

American outlaw Jesse James has been a favorite of filmmakers since the silent era - but Brad Pitt’s turn as the iconic gunfighter is the first to earn Oscar buzz.

In “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,” opening Friday, Pitt plays James as paranoid, depressed, taunting, foolhardy and frightening. The portrayal won him the Venice Film Festival’s Best Actor prize.

A personal project for Pitt, who also produced, this psychological study of James and his baby-faced killer Robert Ford (Casey Affleck) draws surprisingly apt parallels between celebrity worship in 1880s America and today.

“That’s not completely what attracted me to this but certainly that’s an aspect of it,” said Pitt, who, with his partner Angelina Jolie and kids, is a perpetual tabloid target. “I was surprised to see how much a tabloid quotient of media was alive and well at that time, still operated by sensationalism and complete fabrication beyond the facts.”

Smiling he added, “It was curious to me to see that not much had changed, besides quantity.”

While Jesse James reveled in fame, Pitt’s a bit more pragmatic.

“As far as fame goes, look, I know the deal and I understand the trade-off,” he answered. “There are also great perks: We travel and see the world. And we just manage it. The only time that it gets unmanageable for me is when it’s a full frontal assault on the kids. Unfortunately, there is no line concerning family these days - and in this day and age that’s the only thing that really bothers me.”

At the Venice world premiere, a frenzied female fan broke through security and accosted Pitt on the red carpet.

“I haven’t been jumped like that in some time, I have to say,” he said. “Listen, I don’t want to change my life because of paranoia. It could point out that we can be very vulnerable in these situations and that there are a couple of people out there maybe not playing with a full deck. But,” he said, sounding more than a bit like Jesse James, “I’m not changing a thing.”

I think you guys are kind of stuck. All you remember is the 2005 Vanity Fair, and you base your opinions on that. Jennifer has said NOTHING about any of the Jolie-Pitts. That article about Losers in Love ran in Star Magazine last week or the week before. X was on the cover.

That wasn’t the only time she’s been labeled a loser in love by a tabloid. She was also on the cover of another tabloid talking about the same topic a couple of months ago.

As for being crowned the nation’s “tabloid queen”, I guess when you’re a loser in every other category, it’s nice to finally win at something, although damned if I’d want to be known as a “tabloid queen”.

I think that “image” of the victim is already being erased in the minds of public. She appears strong, healthy, and happy. She is taking vacations. She is getting back to work.
