Hello everyone and especially to the good fans of the Jolie-Pitts!

Too busy to contribute (and even read thru the influx of threads—much to my dismay :-( but took an ‘entertainment’ break this morn and had to jump in the fray to share my two-bits :-)

Briseis #478—your post hooked me the most. I know you to be a good hearted, genuine fan.
But your post saddens me.

Like you (and many others here), I do not cotton to JA.

Her incessant ability to stay newsworthy at this point irks me no end—because she seeems to always get press coverage at the expense of Brad and Angie and their beautiful kids.

JUST ONCE COULD SHE DO AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WHERE SHE PUTS TO BED THE INUENDO ABOUT HOW SHE AND BRAD BROKE UP??? Her continued silence sickens me.

It is blatant and at this point, appears calculated— and I hate to say it: it looks like it pays off: she gets headlines for suntanning!
headlines for dubious honors like being #1 tabloid covergirl!headlines for getting an acting job in a huge ensemble piece—full of other more worthy, more respected actors……..it is beyond nuts.

She continues to CREATE THE IMPRESSION that she is significant thru her own tenacity and ferocious instinct for survival (and with the help of her tenacious dog of a manager and publicist. Wow.

Yes she is annoying. And we fans are upset because we know that (tho she is utterly insignificant to us) her continued popularity ultimately hurts the Jolie-Pitts ’cause it keeps so much focus on negative things. Its a b*tch.

But dear Briseis—let us not (in our anger and frustration) get solace in the fact that JA is aging and that she will soon fade because she is entering her ’40’s……that is something we, as a community of good women, should rail against.

Because it hurts ALL women. Is JA p*ssing us off this much that we get joy outa women diminishing after 40—just ’cause it means that she might finally go away???? I hope not.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again. My mantra.
Ignore this chick. Ignore the wave of negativity that washes over these threads whenever she is mentioned. Its just garbage.
Let it flow over your shoulders.

This is a lovely community of folks that share a genuine love and respect for two incredible celebrities that we all admire and support. They are rare and exceptional.

And nothing—certainly no over-hyped ex-wife/tv star level actress should make us start banking on a whole generation of so-called aging actresses/women fading away—– Just so JA goes with them.

That is how we lose our way.

I was going to bed when I saw your post. Thank you for not ranting or disagreeing violently with me … as you so nicely put it, we are all fans together.

Actually, I was just stating the sad fact that unless you are very very talented along the lines of Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren, a woman in her 40s in HW is just SOL. I regret it too, because some of my faves like Rene Russo couldn’t get a job now to save her life (and she was so sexy in Thomas Crown Affair!). But I wasn’t banking on it just so Aniston would go away from our radar. The point I was trying to make (not very clearly, I’m afraid, if you misunderstood) is she frittered her youth away on her TV show, if she wanted to be a big movie star she should have left halfway through. And now she is getting to the point of no return when she could no longer act cutesy cutesy in stupid rom coms because it would no longer be age appropriate, unless she is smart about it and produce her own movies like Sandra B.

and don’t forget BP automatically gets more tabloid press by inference with JA because of the media circus she created with the “triangle”. If it were not for the Vanity article, the divorce would have been just two celebrities who divorced both going their own way. However what JA did NOT say was more powerful than what she was quoted and that in itself created her persona of the victim, America’s suffering sweetheart, the underdog, which attracts the American public’s propensity to protect and cheer on.
You are correct in that over-exposure is not good for one’s career aka Affleck and in JA’s particular situation, the obvious manipulation factor doesn’t come across well to savvy observers. For those who fear for themselves a situation like hers or who already can dentify with her situation i.e. the worst scenario the scorned woman, whose husband leaves her for the “wild, sexy humanitarian,” JA plays well and they can project their anger and insecurities through her for all the “wrong” that can or has happened to them.
If she were a better actress, that might be in her favor, but she really doesn’t have much going for her that isn’t overshadowed by the obvious.

I’m in my bedroom watching MAMS, only God knows how many times i’ve watched this movie! I never get tired of it. The only thing missing is a friend to watch with so am inviting briseis, MF, Melissa, Julia, Hottest couple ever and all BAMPZS fans to come watch with me in spilit.lol
