TANCREDI GOT THE AXE.
Yes, Dr. Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) was decapitated and her head stuffed in a box. So what really happened to SWC? TVGuide interviewed Prison Break executive producer Matt Olmstead to get to the bottom of things:
What was your understanding as to why she didn’t want to come back? It seems strange that she refused to return in any capacity. Doesn’t it seem strange to you? It looked like a pretty good deal on the face of it. We definitely came up in money. Thirteen episodes would have allowed the character to have a proper exit. We were willing to push the start date back [to accommodate her maternity leave], which would have meant her coming in [around] Episode 10, but that wasn’t accepted. So then we offered to come up [to Canada] before she gave birth and film at her house. Pretty good money and she wouldn’t even have to leave her house. That wasn’t accepted. So it was a little curious to me and to others why she was taking such a hard stance. [Maybe] she felt that she was made certain assurances about being part of the show this season. And in fairness to her, those assurances were given, because she was such a valuable member of the show…. Also, she’s up [in Canada]. She’s comfortable. She’s starting a family. Maybe she didn’t want to have to fly down and have to do this stuff. Or maybe she felt like she wanted to be part of the show [full time], not just half the season. Perhaps she felt a little jilted. Our [original] plan was to definitely keep her for [all of] Season 3, but after a couple of times of getting it kicked back from the network, we had to come up with a new idea and that necessitated her character being killed.

They’ve been so gracious and supportive, and I hope they continue to enjoy the show.”

This is the most messed-up thing…. SWC was the best actor on that show and Sara “I Will Garrotte You In A Heartbeat” Tancredi was one of the best characters (not to mention the only awesome female character) that show had. That the writers were so effing lame to come up with her death as motivation because they decided to go back on their word to SWC? Has lost them this viewer. Forever.
i don’t get it people…Sara is Great…but the show is not about Sara so get over it!! i like her in the first season but after a while her character is become a burden to Michel, she’s like in constant fear and worried and confuse all the time,..honestly i kind of glad they kill her …bring new plot to the story..and don’t you think is kind a boring if Michel had to stick with one person for the rest of Prison Break series!!Booring!!!
Ok. The rebound romance question is totally ridiculous! Let’s just consider that a whole season of PB is like 1 week of real life time passed. Considering this point, I’d say it was pretty crude to expect Michael to hook up with someone else only a few days after Sara was D-capped. Also, let’s consider his romantic options while shacked up at Sona….I mean, the man does protest that he is NOT gay…homo-errogenous….out of the question.

If there’s going to be “rebound romance” for Sco, that would be just turning the knife in our wounds…I’m going to hate that woman who takes Saras place and I REALLY DO HATE THAT SUSAN B.! I am not so sure that Sara is actually dead. I think that they might of fooled Lincoln to make him do what they want and also make the brothers turn on each other. It will be interesting. I do hate to see Sara go. I just hope she isn’t dead because they already killed a girlfriend last season.
I am not going to watch the show anymore because how can the main character lover dies. I can’t say anything any more. It sucks…..

I disagree. I loved Prison Break up until season 3. I loved it. I would have liked the show even if it didn’t have Sara in it, but Season 3 has been crap so far. Micheal just isn’t the same without tattoos and clever plans. The plot isn’t as ingenious, and now they’ve cut out the entertaining side romance in a ridiculous and unoriginal way. Has anyone seen Seven? That’s the last straw, the show’s over.
Oh, and no SWC will probably not be returning. I seriously doubt it. God they even offered to go to her home and film, and she rejected it. They cut her character’s head off and Linc SAW it, there’s no way to bring her back unless they’re planning to turn PB into a SciFi. Good luck with that, that would be just as crappy an option.
THAT FACE DOESN’T EVEN LOOK LIKE SARA’S. I WOULDN’T BE SURPRISED IF THE COMPANY PEOPLE HAD A DUMMY HEAD CREATED WITH SARA’S FEATURES JUST IN CASE IT WAS NECESSARY TO MAKE MIKE/LINC FEEL PRESSURED TO HURRY IN GETTING THAT WHISTLER GUY OUT SOONER FROM SONA.
AS ANY PB FAN WOULD KNOW, THE SAME WAS DONE WITH STEADMAN (THE VP’S BROTHER FROM SEASON 1), WHILE HIS BODY WAS SUPPOSEDLY GETTING AN AUTOPSY DONE AND LATER BURIED, THE REAL STEADMAN WAS CHILLING ALL ALONG IN THE MOUNTAINS OF MONTANA.
PRISON BREAKS HAS SO MANY UNEXPECTED TWISTS, THAT I WOULDN’T DOUBT THAT SARA’S CHARACTER IS STILL ALIVE & BEING HELD HOSTAGE ALONG WITH LJ.
I SURE HOPE SHE WASN’T AXED, BECAUSE IT WOULD TOTALLY SUCK. WHEN MICHAEL FINDS OUT SARA’S DEAD, HE’S GONNA GO POSTAL ON EVERYBODY AND TURN INTO A MERCILESS KILLER.
Oh My God..I can’t believe that they killed Sara…I love Prison Break but the scenes I loved the most were with MiSa!! The show won’t be the same without her…If SWC wanted to leave they should replace her with another actress…But not killing off Sara..Michael will die when he finds out!! :((((
For those who say that this series is about the brothers, you can’t be more wrong!! Prison Break writers changed that at end of Season 2. It became about Michael’s love for Sara. Don’t forget that, his love for her sent him back to jail!
And for those who say that this is entertainment, oh well, NOT IN MY BOOK!!! Open a dictionary you people!!

we all know that the new love interest for Went… ops sorry, I mean Michael should be a man….
To me, in Season 2, Michael and Sara’s relationship was lackluster, so I had a hard time beleiving it! It just seemed to be going nowhere. Maybe it’s just me, but I thought they were great together in Season 1, the vibe, the sexual tension was there, but in Season 2 it was gone, so I started to focus on the other characters(until they were killed off
i.e. Hot Mess Kellerman) and brothers more. Although I’m still kinda sad she’s gone, for Michael’s sake, mainly because I don’t want to see him in pain week after week, I’d much rather see him get laid week after week, but it’s going to make for great TV nonetheless.
Watching Prison Break and WM gives me plenty of pleasure, and T-bag usually entertains the He*l of out me, so for me that’s entertainment, folks! lol
How could they do that? i’ve was watching season 1+2 every spare moment of my life before season 3 started…how could they destroy 2 years of building up the greatest love story ever? especially by just throwing her chopped off head in the box…they were going to kill her off in the beginning of season 2 but she was liked so much that they killed Veronica instead…they should of just killed her then instead of making their relationship even greater then decappitating her…grrrrrrrr!!!

okay, quite frankly i wanted to cheer when i saw sara’s head in the box… granted i was a little happy for linc that it wasn’t LJ’s, but you knew it had to be hers anyway. you could tell in the last few episodes she really didn’t want to be on here anyway and while i would have liked a little more story into her death, c’mon how many other bigger characters have died? and all this fuss over sara??? i’m gonna cry when alex dies, even though i hate him for letting haywire die, but i’ll still watch the show til the last character bites it. truthfully do they have any way to make everything right at the end of the show other than everyone dying? and while everyone else is swooning over wentworth miller i’ll take william fichtner over him any day… dominic purcell ain’t so bad himself- so yeah ppl sorry sara’s gone but get over it. maybe michael will start to go a lil crazy someday too and start seeing flashbacks of sara… or maybe she had a twin? or maybe the fake head in the box was really a fake head in the box. lol good luck sarah wayne callies, sorry you couldn’t stick around a little longer
