TANCREDI GOT THE AXE.
Yes, Dr. Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) was decapitated and her head stuffed in a box. So what really happened to SWC? TVGuide interviewed Prison Break executive producer Matt Olmstead to get to the bottom of things:
What was your understanding as to why she didn’t want to come back? It seems strange that she refused to return in any capacity. Doesn’t it seem strange to you? It looked like a pretty good deal on the face of it. We definitely came up in money. Thirteen episodes would have allowed the character to have a proper exit. We were willing to push the start date back [to accommodate her maternity leave], which would have meant her coming in [around] Episode 10, but that wasn’t accepted. So then we offered to come up [to Canada] before she gave birth and film at her house. Pretty good money and she wouldn’t even have to leave her house. That wasn’t accepted. So it was a little curious to me and to others why she was taking such a hard stance. [Maybe] she felt that she was made certain assurances about being part of the show this season. And in fairness to her, those assurances were given, because she was such a valuable member of the show…. Also, she’s up [in Canada]. She’s comfortable. She’s starting a family. Maybe she didn’t want to have to fly down and have to do this stuff. Or maybe she felt like she wanted to be part of the show [full time], not just half the season. Perhaps she felt a little jilted. Our [original] plan was to definitely keep her for [all of] Season 3, but after a couple of times of getting it kicked back from the network, we had to come up with a new idea and that necessitated her character being killed.

“As hard as we all tried, the Prison Break powers that be and I were unable to find a way to meet both the needs of the story and the needs of my family. We parted wishing each other well. I had a wonderful time working with the creative team and have a world of respect for all of them; they took great care of Dr. Sara. I’m also enormously grateful to the fans. They’ve been so gracious and supportive, and I hope they continue to enjoy the show.”

I agree with you 150 truthie. Just can’t wait to see when Mike finds out what happened to Sara. Mike was a little crazy before(sara found out he had to see psychiatrist very often in PB1). That’s gonna be an acting challenge for Wentworth.

Michael and Sara’s love story was what made pb so i’m betting on the show being axed unless they bring her back.
Going by online polls,PB is set to lose 40% of viewers,not because of swc leaving but because of the way they wrote her out.
However,just because you saw a head in a box it doesn’t mean it’s her.the writers can always bring her back (with a bumper pay deal as an apology) and claim the head was a lookalike killed by the company in a bid to wind michael up so he would escape asap for revenge.
Well…thats what i’m hoping anyway.
Not sure if you guys remember, but in the first episode of this year, a woman looking just like Sarah was found at the Morgue, and Lincoln was asked to come by and identify the body. I thought that this part was totally useless at the beginning, but could’nt it be that woman’s head in the box?

i personally am very disappointed that fox decided to kill off sarah waynes character.if they couldnt work out a contract then they could have left her character absent during season 3 or until such time as a new contract was drawn.her and michaels love story was one of the key parts to prison break.why have two great seasons where she is fighting for her life and constantley on the run just to suddenly mutilate her.i have a feeling a lot of fans will be angered by this decision andits a mistake the makers of the show will surely regret.

I know that you Prison Break People are smart, because I have seen you direct the movie in a way that we have never expected. I also know that You are not going to kill Sara SWC forever. I read two months ago that Sara was coming back in the next season. So I am sure that you will get her back to prison break. If you don’t, the show is over for many people. But I know that you already know that.
However, if you really have a problems and you are not planning to get Sara back to the show, Please do. Let me tell you, the show is dead with out Sara, Please beg Sara to come back, give her what she wants. And Sara, come on. We love you. Please come back to PB. Sara, Go now to your baby and enjoy a nice family time with your Family. But come back in the next season. Please Sara, do not say no, ok, Thanks.

I enjoyed the second season so much espeically the special thing between Michael and Sara. I am sooo disappointed by the third season!
Why did they have to decapitate her??? There are many way´s of writing a character out of a show, but decapitating???
Even though I did not like Veronica that much, she just got a shot in the head and Linc is not really devastated about her death.

It feels like ‘the show that never ends’. At least with 24 there’s some closure at the end of the season… And doesn’t it seem like ‘the powers that be’ are stretching for ideas, just to keep us from turning off the tele?
Personally i would have been happier if they’d decapitated the brothers and put sara in a womens prison for murder and rename it PRISON BREAK IN.
Set 9 months later she could sit in her cell all day mothering micheals baby (the one she wants to spend lots of time with)waiting for me to break in and rescue them.

Prison break is abosolutely the worst show on TV. The end of last season SHOULD have been the end of it. This year is completely disgusting… the same crap inside that awful panama prison, talking through the fence is getting old… MY GOD Linc hasn’t told Michael about Sarah. When Michael finds out he’s gonna freak. WORST SHOW FOX HAS EVER PRODUCED.

I watched as Michael found out about Sara last night, and I’ve decided that will be the last Prison Break episode I watch, which is saying a lot for a couch potato like me. Until last night, I held hope that this was one of Prison Break’s little surprises that we saw so often during the first two seasons. Looks like that’s not the case. Michael’s crusade to get his brother released has ruined him. Period. Every character that stood for something good has been killed off, excluding Michael, Link, & LJ. I predict that the 3 of them will eventually make it out of this mess, but who cares anymore? Seriously, what else is there now? And for the people wondering who Michael’s new love interest will be…..why? There shouldn’t be one. Fox needs to end the show. THIS SEASON. Screw the ratings
To the actress that played Sara: I realize there is more to life than Prison Break, but not having you on really sucks. Its not really your fault though. The show should have been wrapped up in 2 seasons. Anymore, the writers seem to be making **** up as they go. Maybe the writers strike will force Fox to tie this story up.

Prison break is a good show and all. But ever since i found out that they killed Sara off. I was so mad. I understand that she wanted to stay home and raise her baby all. But they could’ve have used her pregnancy in the show and say that the Baby was Micheals. Which would make micheal want to get out even faster. Sarah could also guest star in the show and just say that she wasn’t dead but they wanted micheal and lincoln to think she was. stuff like that. But i don’t watch it just for the charatcer of Sara. I watch because i loved the relationship in the show between sara and Scofield a.k.a Micheal.
