These two rightous ******** judge the way that others live and claim to live altruistic lives when in reality they are being just as wasteful as the people that they supposedly don’t approve of. It’s great that they donate money. It’s great that they bring attention to issues but take a hard look at their other actions. Spending this kind of money on a hotel is a complete waste and goes against everything that they supposedly stand for. I don’t donate a 1/3 of my money to charity because I can’t afford to (like most can’t) but I also don’t spend an obscene amount of money on things that are wasteful. Also, donating money for people who have loads of it is a tax write off. They have it to spare and need to get rid of it somehow. If they were ONLY doing it for the right reasons there wouldn’t be a camera crew around everytime they did something “good”. Hypocrites.

The question arises, when one is graced with a tremendous amount of wealth, does one have the responsibility to or obligation to donate a portion of that to those less deserved, and also how much is one allowed to spend on themselves?

 
I dont think any person in hollywood (as much as they laugh at the outrageous salaries they get paid) would stop taking from that wealth, or benefitting from all the perks (free private jets, free lodging, so on and so forth)or say no, i don’t want to stay at the all exclusive Waldorf Astoria, but rather in a modest 4 bedroon apartment and rent it for 3,000 a month and give the rest of the food to the poor)
The thing here, to be objective, is that these two have never proclaimed themselves to be “humanitarians” or claimed to want to live a life like, lets say, Ghandi (that man deserves to be on a pedestal, or Nelson Mendela) so in that respect, let them give what they want, eat what they want, because at the end of the day there are millions of people out there just like them, millions, there are billionaires out there that build lavish yachts and sail them around for a year and then dock them to collect rust and pollute the oceans meanwhile giving to a local orphange to appease perhaps their conscience or because they think it is the right thing to do. who cares, it doesn’t change the state of the world and fact is money helps, no matter who gives it. These are the dilemmas of man in general, not just these two.
So it is ludicrous to call them hypocrites because it is the public and the media that have made these two into the iconic beings they are now. I don’t think they truly want to save the world, just help out here and there, enjoy their life and be with their family, which is no better or worse than the rest of us…
