Joaquin Phoenix @ ‘We Own the Night’ Premiere

Joaquin Phoenix is slick in silver at the NY premiere of We Own the Night presented by The Cinema Society at the Chelsea West Theater on Tuesday.

The film has garnered a mediocre 56% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Here are some highlights from the reviews:

I don’t care what anyone says about his looks. He is so f***ing talented and that is HOT! He is a man with a brain, and he feels things intensely (hence the drugs and drinking he’s had troubles with), but everything about him is hot. His looks? Just the icing on the cake.

I’d be jealous of his girlfriend if he was actually serious about her. Leaving her behind in LA and taking his sister to public events instead of her is not serious relationship behavior. He may have a play thing at the moment, but this man is still fair game.

A few nights ago, actor Joaquin Phoenix was walking down a New York street.

“I was walking to my girlfriend’s house to go pick her up for dinner,” Phoenix recalls. “A few people started following me and one asked for an autograph.”

Instead of just signing and slinking away, Phoenix, 33, says he almost had a physical reaction to being recognized.
