Angelina JolieThe casting of Angelina Jolie as the mixed-race wife of late journalist Daniel Pearl in new movie A Mighty Heart has been heavily criticised by black rights groups. Make-up artists are believed to have used special cosmetics to darken the star’s skin to match that of Mariane Pearl - but campaigners believe a real-life mixed-race actress should have been given the part.

Blogs on BlackLooks.org read, “I had assumed that the days when white actors took on the roles of black people had long passed away… There are mixed-race or black actresses who could have done a damn good job in this role.

“You can’t tell me that Halle Berry or other women of African descent wouldn’t have been a better choice - what is taking place here is an act of arrogance and whitewashing by people who think that because they are super-rich they can be anything they want.”

People characterized Fight Club as a flop financially, but it wasn’t to me. I saw it twice in the theater and rent it every once in a while because it was awesome. Yes, Brad’s body was banging in it, but that was sprinkles. 9 times out of 10, whenever someone mentions that movie, there is a gutteral reaction to it, just like Seven.

And as for Michael Clayton, I was watching MSNBC this morning and the on-air personalities handled that Clooney’s box office with kid gloves. Every other sentence was about how much they loved GC… it was like ‘Okay, we get it; you love Clooney.’ But did they show Clooney some love this weekend? No. They made all kinds of excuses for him, meanwhile if Brad experienced the same thing, they would’ve said that he brought it on himself because he is overexposed. Myself, I think that their definition of ‘overexposed’ is doing publicity but not on our show.

And another slap in the face, they kept calling Why Did I Get Married? Why I Didn’t Get Married?… Seriously, can’t these fcukers read? They even had Why I Didn’t Get Married? on their top five box office graphic. Such demonstration of sterling journalistic execution on the eve of AMH’s DVD release too.
