Jake Gyllenhaal @ ‘Rendition’ Premiere
A super scruffy Jake Gyllenhaal and costar Reese Witherspoon get thisclose to each other while speaking to other people during the after-party for the premiere of Rendition in Beverly Hills, Calif. on Wednesday night. The two did not even make eye contact with each other on the red carpet!
Look, even director Gavin Hood is trying to bring them together!
“It’s interesting how our stories intersect even though we don’t talk to each other in the film,” said Reese of her lack of interaction with Jake in the film. “You’re anxious to see what other people do with their side of the movie.”

#47. Yes, when you are at the top in Hollywood you don’t have to talk about your sex life. It is those who can’t get to the top but want to be there who tend to chatter about their love life, hoping to stir up some interest. Witherspoon did an interview recently with a guy from the London Times and when he asked a personal question, her publicist, who was eavesdropping from the hallway, crawled, yes crawled, on hands and knees into the room to admonish him not to ask “personal” questions. When you are a very big star, you have flunkies who go around on hands and knees to fend off media pests. I doubt Jake is big enough yet to have flunkies who serve him on hands and knees. LOL.
If they are together they are the stupidest couple ever. I hate the crawling publicist, stony silence, approved question list stage of stardom.
Lexy, you are stupid! What makes them HAVE to answer any questions for YOU?!? It’s their LIFE, not a soap opera for your amusement. And yes, plenty of people keep their private lives private who are NOT movie stars. I don’t see husbands and wives clinging to each other at the grocery store, or kissing at the company holiday party. Keep in mind that this was a professional engagement they were at, not some show for teens and immature people who want to see them make out publicly for their own amusement.
In this day of the tabloid what choice do you have if you don’t wish to be hunted all day. If you play the game with the press then you will become the next Brad & AJ, stalked 24/7.
There is no in-between these days, either you play or you don’t, you don’t get to play alittle. JLO with Ben Affleck vs JLO with Marc Anthony. Ben Affleck with JLO vs Ben Affleck with Jennifer Garner. Simple the new duos didn’t say anything to the press for the longest, they didn’t walk carpets together and they weren’t making it easy for photos to be taken. Don’t let the press in, give them less and you can have a private life.

He went off the rails and she went up there to calm him down and talk him through making it through the awards season as a couple. He complied. After he wrapped Breach he moved to a rented house although they made it look good with some family pictures on the beach that summer since the rumors were all over town by that point that they were no longer together. Word is that they almost reconciled but then didn’t. The original plan was to stay “together” until after Flags came out which had the added bonus of giving it enough time so that it would not look like they faked their way through the awards season. By the time their separation was announced they had been separate for a year. They both tried to hold it together. They are both good people but they just grew apart.

When you think about it, Ryan cheating is not weird at all. Almost ALL relationships end. And most marriages have infidelity — those are the statistics.
If they weren’t famous and rich, you wouldn’t think it was so weird that two people who got married at the very young ages of 22 and 23 would get divorced ten years later, especially when you throw in that they only got married because she got pregnant. Sounds actually NORMAL to me that the relationship ran its course, they fell out of love, and Ryan was looking around for something more fulfilling.
I’m glad Reese is finding some happiness. She seems so much looser and more relaxed now. Not trying desperately to hold something together that was doomed to fail anyway.
R55 I read from some person that when Reese went to see him in Toronto they had seperate suites, he stayed in one and she in the other. Divorce is hard and so is seperation, doing it in the public eye must be harder. Often during a seperation you still have tiny hope things will change, we don’t even know if this was the first seperation for them. Even if you seperate it has to be hard knowing the other peson is out there ******** around.
For those who think otherwise, Reese is the primary parent in their kids lives. This isn’t saying that Ryan is not a good dad, it’s just saying that most of the career choices Reese has taken over the last 5 years have been about being with and near her kids. She very seldom films out of the LA area and when she does it’s just for some location shots outside and small roles.
During Sweet Home Alabama & Vanity Fair she had to film the entire movie away, but in both cases Ryan & the family came with her, so she was with her kids everyday and they were filmed over 4 1/2 years ago. Since his daughter has been in school all of Ryan’s movies have been on location outside LA for entire filming. Chaos was filmed in Seattle,Five Fingers was filmed in New Zealand, Amsterdam, New Orleans & Morocco, Flags of our Fathers was many locations such as Japan, D.C, Chicago, Iceland, Texas and some LA. Breach was Virgina and Ontario, Stop Loss was filmed in Texas. The current movie he is filming is Franklyn in London only, after that he will work on The Last Battle Dreamer with Abbie Cornish filming in the UK. Crash was the last role Ryan did in California and that was shot in 2004 and short filming.
Don’t believe all those rumors that Ryan gave up his career chances to be an at home dad with his children, they are not true. He has filmed as many if not more movies than Reese and for the past 5 years his choices have been to film in a place away from his family. You just need to check IMDB, not gossip sights for the truth.
I don’t know what you know foalfoal, but I get a sense that R&R were separated before their announcement, too. I think they had to make the announcement bcz the news media was going public with Ryan and Abbie Cornish dating. I read where they asked for a screen to be put up at some restaurant where they were sharing a booth so they could make out without being seen…guess it didn’t work, bcz everybody read about them making out in a booth at a restaurant. I also saw pictures on the ‘net of Ryan out clubbing a lot. He has these guys he hangs with (who hate Reese) and they go out. He’s been doing it for a while. I think Reese had a rough time holding that marriage together. I didn’t know he asked for her to pay for his health insurance while they are still settling the divorce. He is like K-Fed. LOL!!! He apparently wants joint custody of the kids because he can get money for child support.
Ryan was never happy. He always looked moody and sour. Like he was too pretty to be nice. Pond scum.
If Jake is dating anyone I’d say it’s the dark haired woman he’s been seen around town with lately - the last sighting was only a day ago leaving a restaurant - the photos are on the I Heart Jake website. He ACTUALLY PHYSICALLY HUGS/CUDDLES this woman!!! Not Reese, this woman.
The women he was out with is his PR person and friend, you will see many photos of the two. They are friends. Even if Jake & Reese are not together right now, you won’t see them dating others in public until the promotion for the movie ends, that would just add to the tabloid story.
I think the bread make his face round. His face actually is pretty!
