Cate Blanchett @ Sydney Theatre Company Launch

Cate Blanchett celebrates the Sydney Theatre Company at its 2008 Season Launch Party on Friday Walsh Bay, Sydney, Australia.

The Elizabeth: The Golden Age star joined Audi Australia boss Joerg Hofman, Aussie stage and screen actor Robyn Nevin and Aussie playwright/screenwriter/director Andrew Upton (Cate’s hubby).

the only dress that she wore, and I like it was that dress that she wore to the oscars! The metallic dress, that was fitting her body! I love that! what happened!

She is one of my all-time favorite actors, I love her work so much - but she dresses awful. With the exception of some of the award show gowns in the past, she always picks these maternal shapeless things in colors that don’t really do her justice. She dresses old. I do hope she is expecting…like was noted above…perhaps that explains the shapes of the dresses. But still, she could look so much prettier and younger!

Totally agree, Michelle. LOVE Cate, but jeez. The one for the portrait is not bad, but not spectacular, as you would expect for a portrait. The striped dress? What the hell is THAT?!?!

Shapeless is one thing, stupid broad stripes and a dull color is another!

Glad she’s supporting the theater, though. She could win a Tony someday, along with a much-deserved Oscar. This woman can do anything she sets her mind to.
