Ron ‘n Rachel Go Time Traveling

Costars Ron Livingston and Rachel McAdams grab lunch together on Thursday in Toronto, Canada, where they are working on their new film, The Time Traveler’s Wife.

Eric Bana, 39, plays Chicago librarian Henry De Tamble. Ron, 40, plays Gomez, the librarian’s friend and a liberal attorney who works for nonprofit organizations. Rachel, 31 (maybe), plays artist Clare Abshire.

Livingston is best known for his lead role in the comedy film Office Space, his stint on Sex and the City, and as Captain Lewis Nixon in the miniseries Band of Brothers. He most recently starred as an FBI negotiator in the now-canceled FOX series Standoff.

I ran into Ron in the elevator at the sutton about 15 mins before that photo… it’s just a bad photo of the dude.

If Ryan’s tired of her, just send her over this way.

i think rachel looks great! 31? really? i can see it i guess, but at first glance i’d say mid to late 20’s. she ages well i guess.

can’t wait for this movie! it looks great, lets just hope it is great. The book deserves a good visual interpretation of it.

You know, she’s very pretty and not a bad actress, at all, but I don’t think she’s high-caliber enough for this role. Talent-wise, I mean. I’m not trying to insult her, I just think a few more years on the circuit wouldn’t hurt before she tries the heavier material, because her filmography gives me a toothache, personally.
As light and fluffy as cotton candy.

She could also stand to diversify her roles a bit- with the exception of Mean Girls, her characters have all ultimately been sweethearts. She needs to try and break from the mold a bit. I know she has a smaller film in the can but she sort of reminds me of the two Jessicas (Biel and Alba) in that they all want heavier material but aren’t willing to show their skill. All insist on staying within the warm folds of the mainstream instead using their clout (whatever it may be) to get a role in a smaller, possibly indie, film and play a drastically different role than what they’re usually cast in (and for the three of them, that role is usually the girlfriend). It’s hard to feel bad for them when actresses, whatever you may think of their skill levels aside, such as Keira Knightley, Natalie Portman, ROsario Dawson, Scarlett Johansson, etc., are willing to try for something better or different.

I think a Rachel Weisz sort of actress would’ve been a better choice.

She is exactly who I pictured to play Clare.
I don’t see Ron as Gomez, though.
Anyway- AMAZING book.
I really hope they do it justice.

for the people who say she’s ugly, ARE YOU INSANE?!! you must be. or maybe just jealous. Rachel McAdams is so gorgeous.

i’m alittle upset, clare has long red hair, and gomez is supposed to be a big beefy blonde swedish guy. the characters suck, not even like the book.
