Jennifer Garner takes a stroll around the Big Apple on Saturday morning with hubby Ben Affleck and daughter Violet, 22 months.
Jennifer’s new Broadway show Cyrano de Bergerac opens on November 1st for a ten-week run at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.
Cyrano de Bergerac is a romantic classic about the lover-warrior with a heart as big as his unsightly, overlong nose. Tony Award winner Kevin Kline and Garner will play the roles of, respectively, Cyrano and Roxane.

They seem happy…in a companionship sort of way, who happen to have a child together and are dedicated in raising it to the best of their abilities. But as far as passion and love, love, between the two of them…I never saw it to begin with.

Candy, how can we know that there is no love between them? We don’t know what happens when Paps aren’t there? I saw an interview awhile back where Peter Berg discussed hitting her on the set of The Kingdom. She played a joke that she was hurt and Ben came to visit her on set and was not aware of the joke and he got mad about that. I think that’s one small proof of love.

Fugly is all dressed up for the cameras, she even put make up on which she doesn’t do in LA. She and Ben look so disconnected.
I’m definitely not saying they don’t love each other. I think there’s a lot of affection and respect. She is the mother of his child, and he’s the father of hers. I think they’ve grown to protect and take care of each other. What I’m saying is that I don’t see a spark between them, a wanting, and a need. I’m just a die hard romantic, and frankly, I’ve seen Ben look at other women with a sort of passion and blushing intensity, that is otherwise missing when he’s with Garner.When it comes to her, however, I’ve seen her look at Ben that way.
I think essentialy, Garner seems to give him that stability he’s always needed, which just happens to coincide with a great all-time professional career year for him. He’ll put two and two together and take notice, if he hasn’t already, and appreciate her even more for that. He has gotten peace and respect back that he’s always wanted. But really, if it was just the two of them, without child, and without all the career praise, I see him eventually moving on.

You’re right. Every other couple has that “love/passion” vibe between them except these two. I was just looking at Heidi and Seal and they seem like such a normal couple to me. The Garflecks are devoted to their daughter which is great though. Their relationship, however, isn’t much to rave about.
At least their good parents and there’s a lot to be said for that.
Why do people hate them so much? Especially Jen. I can understand the dislike for Ben some what he was annoying in his past. But he’s not anymore. Him and Jennifer seem like a very down to earth couple.

Candy, I get your point of view. But, In your first post you meantioned lack of love. Then in your 2nd you said you weren’t saying that you did not say that they do not love one another. I replied to the first. I guess, IMO, Ben probably shys away from PDA after the whole Bennifer fiasco, he does imply on some interviews that the relationship killed his career. And maybe he doesn’t want to go through that again with Jen Garner. All I can compare their relationship with is mine I guess, My better half and I rarely show PDA in public, around family or friends. And I am fine with that. It does not mean that we aren’t in love. We just show one another when we are alone. And I will tell you that we are very happy and very much in love. Maybe, that’s how they are. Sorry this is long.

There are several of them being affectionate when Violet isn’t there.
If anyone watched Affleck on Leno and the story he told about Manny “loving” Jen…it was so cute and you could tell that the fact that someone he’s a fan of was a fan of his wife made him proud. lol
I think they just don’t play it up for the cameras. Lots of celebs do, but they don’t feel the need to, which is refreshing.
It’s amazing how some of you people seem to know or have an opinion on their relationship when you don’t know either of them or even met them face to face. You can’t judge their relationship from a set of photos posted on gossip websites and taken by the paparazzi. And for those of you who love commenting on how ugly people are, I’d love to see what you look like.
I do not think Ben is happy with Jennifer Garner. On his latest interview he looked miserable and lamenting on his career rather than a young family. Jennifer hooked him by getting pregnant right away . I think if she was not pregnant Ben will not marry her. It was just a rebound for Ben after Jlo. Or rather he used Jennifer to get out of her relationship with Jlo.
They also look very annoyed with the photogs. Doesn’t mean there’s anything worng with their relationship.

I think it’s funny how people like to analyze pap photos to determine the inner workings of celeb relationships. We must have some real exerts here! So you think if celebs are always cozy and lovey dovey, that it’s not an act? And that if they don’t look all huggy and lovey dovey, they are doomed? Please…the reason so many relationships fail is that people expect the passion to be there all the time…and passion fades, but other qualities of relationship are what makes it last. Are these two in love? Will they last? I couldn’t tell you one way or the other…I can say that I hope they do if that’s what they want.

Ben got slammed viciously and for years because of his PDA with Jennifer Lopez and going on talk shows talking about their “love” grossed people out. He has tried hard to keep it private with Garner. I actually always wonder when couples are really public with the PDA anyway–like what are you trying to prove? Although I can understand it with Brangelina because there are always rumors of trouble between them I can see why they are all over each other at public events to “disprove” the rumors. Bennifer doesn’t need to prove anything to anybody and that is refreshing IMO

I don`t think that after the whole Bennifer thing, Ben will ever be seen showing PDA. Which is understandable. I just feel that he is just too cold towards her. I hope they stay together. If they don`t I certainly will not be trashing either one of them 24/7 trying to seek revenge for a divorce that has nothing to do with me.

I’m amazed at how many folks look at these pix and say “I can’t believe he left her alone”, “I hope everything is ok”, etc. This isn’t a video where you can actually tell if he walks off. He probably brought Violet to the set and is leaving with Violet or going with Violet to get something, etc. I never would have guessed he was “walking off on her” please people.
As a side note I always thought these two were really cute together and made a good couple. I am surprised however that in most of the interviews he has been doing lately that he states how much Violet changed him and how she was the best thing that’s ever happened to him but ther is no mention of his wife. . .maybe he’s gun shy due to the publicity from the jlo incident and wants to strictly stay away from the partner issue???

Yeah, my fave celebrity SOX family!!! They look great! People have to remember that the paparazzi pictures only show what they want you to see. Don’t judge their relationship based on these few pictures. There are past pics of Jen and Ben looking very loving and sweet to each other when they’re alone. I think they look like a very normal couple…..they don’t have to be all over each other in public!!
There have been many photos posted of “the family.” In every single one, there is an obvious disconnect between Jen and Ben. “A picture paints a thousand words.” In their case, “a photo paints a thousand words.”
It’d be different if it was just the pictures, but it’s not. Even in interview Affleck doesn’t really talk about his wife and the excuse that he doesn’t talk about her because of Bennifer I is lame.
How sad for Jennifer Garner that she has to live in the shadows of Afflecks past relationship. I mean, would it fly with any of you if your HUSBAND, insisted on limiting PDA because of his past? At what point are they allowed to move on from it? Ridiculous.

If you want to be known for your acting or directing only its a good thing to stay away from “couple publicity”. ALso, they’ve both been accused of (unfairly, i think) of using partners for their upward career mobility so they are smart to keep their relationship out of the public eye. By the way, those quotes WERE TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT so they made it sound like Violet was the only one he wanted to talk about. Read the WHOLE article and you will see he credits Jennifer for changing his life for the better.
YEs wtf? It is ridiculous the extreme and negative publicity Bennifer 1 got, but it did and he’s had to live his life running away from it since. JLo too, she has had to change the way she lives her life to an extreme extent also. But there doesn’t seem to be as much interest in her anymore until the ‘is she pregnant thing” came up.
