#13 Give me abreak. Even Marianne Pearl was disgusted at people trying to make this a racial issue. She is the one who chose Angie to play her so grow up and get over it. Go see the movie and judge for yourself. That is what I did as a Black American before I judged and listened to all the negative press.
If it is just that you dislike Angie well then better stay home because she is wonderful in this movie and you will not be able to walk away and not feel that this was a great performance. CONGRATULATIONS to our Angie and to her family. Another award for them to enjoy together.
One more thing since I am on tonight. The school Maddox attends is designed for foreign dignitaries and people like Brad and Angie who are required to travel in their work. Madd has friends. They are his family.

The fact is Marianne is FRENCH !!! Something that my fellow sisters in America tend to ignore with a passion !

As a French and as a Black person, Marianne is perceived as a mulleto by some, a white woman by others in her home country, never as a Black woman, unless she refers to herself as such.

The problem is, Americans tend to americanize every other cultures and cultural perception ! No wonder that not a single Black person in France (and we are millions too !) and Europe felt betrayed by Angie’s choice since the cultural codification and perception is totally different and personal.

I personnaly feel even more astonished that some people in the US feel betrayed that a White American actress would be chosen to play Marianne but don’t have a problem that an American wathever her background would be chosen to play a french woman with all the emotions, cultural mindset that her frenchery can gives as density to the portrait of Marianne Pearl.

I can tell you that Marianne, before I knew her background was perceived by myself, including many people as a Lebanese or Arab cause she has the features of many Arabs in here and is not the typical mixed Black/White person. I was stunned that she was a Muletto as there is no one drop rule here. Many Mulettos tend to choose the side upon which they will act, breathe and live and most of the time it is the side of the biggest group of family members. I am pretty sure that Marianne perceives herself as a White woman who happens to have a cuban mother and noone in France would have a problem with that. It’s her choice and her prerogative.

Hell, the movie could have casted Sophie Marceau and noone in France would raise a racial question mark about it cause she is french portraying a french woman who lives, breathe as a french woman first and foremost, not as a Black or mixed race or whatever race woman.

Besides if born in the US, she would have been a Latina, born from a Cuban mother and a Dutch father and I bet the latin community would have been the one to have the right to feel betrayed that one of them is not represented to portray a latina even if afro-latina, latina nevertheless !

Therefore in every way the African-american community betrayal feeling has no relevance and is more a matter of overeacting and kidnapping of a cause that doesn’t belong to them since either way she is french and if she was american, she would be perceived as a US latina and a latina actress would have been chosen for the role…especially since Marianne has a slight cuban/spanish accent !

1. You people are repeating the same stuff for 3 years now. (boring)
2. Neither one of the three: Jennifer, Angelina or Brad are or ever were hurt by anything that was said - Your opinion doesn’t mean anything.
3. Hate is hate no matter how you justify using it. You are also making 3 celebrities responisble for the stupidity of some of people who use the “fan” as a reason to speak hate.(stupid).
4. Nothing anyone has ever said here (including me) has changed or helped solve any of the world’s problems.
5. It is obvious that venting your hatred here has not helped those who hate, like themselves any better, shown by repeating the same stuff over and over.
6. From what I have seen of the three and heard in the news, and saw personally when I meant Jennifer Aniston - none of the three would agree with the hate here or participate in the “lets throw mud at someone until we feel better”.

But hey if this is the best you people can do - then it is the best you people can do.

The show was awful and so was she. I don’t think the awards people
are in touch with the people who watch shows. The show bombed. Why
is it that the ones that are very popular with the public are never
chosen? There are dozens of actresses and actors that are better than
these two and yet even if they sell a $300,000,000 movie, the others
never get even recognized. Guess Hollywood doesn’t appreciate the
fact that people can make low budget movies and make a lot of money
for them. Comedy very seldom get a reward and yet they are one of
the most popular. Don’t the studios want to break even at least?????

is it just me or does the thing in her hand say goodbye maddox. please don’t tell me they are actually leaving already. their poor kids probably have no good friends

Since Madd is not your kid, I wouldn’t worry about it.

He has a tutor. Don’t worry about him he will be fine. He has friends…..all over the world.

congrats angelina, you so deserved this! im happy for her and she’s a great person.

Obviously #837 is a Maniston fan who only dreams that she-male can get an award with her awful comedy movies ROFL. Too bad you can only dream because it would never happen, Maniston is way way far behind Anelina’s caliber when it comes to acting, Maniston sux and so is her movies.
