Angelina Jolie: Outstanding Performance of the Year

Academy Award and three-time Golden Globe winner Angelina Jolie will receive the Outstanding Performance of the Year Award for her performance in A Mighty Heart at The Santa Barbara International Film Festival early next year.

“We are honored to celebrate Ms. Jolie in what is arguably one of the most extraordinary female roles of the year,” said Festival executive director Roger Durling.

Angie will be honored on Feb. 2, 2008, the second-to-last day of the festival, which begins on Jan. 24, 2008.

Kate Winslet, Heath Ledger, and Helen Mirren have received this award in previous years.

I think Marianne Pearl ought to have the last word on who plays her, rather than a pack of disgruntled racists. She was thrilled to have an actor of Angie’s caliber playing her and loved the movie. Enough said.

She absolutely deserves this award. Her accent was perfect perfect , her portrayal of Marianne was perfect.
I was so moved by her acting in AMH. This is just FANTASTIC !

I agree with you. That’s where Brangelina fans get so hypocritical, they are allowed to bash Jennifer Aniston, but Jolie is so ‘perfect’, no one can bash her. Don’t get me wrong, I like both but seriously the fans!

Haters, Angelina Jolie is a very good actress. That’s a fact. She has not always made wise movie choices but that doesn’t take away from the fact that she is a critically acclaimed good actress. For those who are saying it’s because of Brad that she’s getting this award/recognition, how about the 3 Golden Globes, SAG award, Emmy nomination, Oscar, and others that she got BEFORE Brad?
