Angelina Jolie: Outstanding Performance of the Year

Academy Award and three-time Golden Globe winner Angelina Jolie will receive the Outstanding Performance of the Year Award for her performance in A Mighty Heart at The Santa Barbara International Film Festival early next year.

“We are honored to celebrate Ms. Jolie in what is arguably one of the most extraordinary female roles of the year,” said Festival executive director Roger Durling.

Angie will be honored on Feb. 2, 2008, the second-to-last day of the festival, which begins on Jan. 24, 2008.

Kate Winslet, Heath Ledger, and Helen Mirren have received this award in previous years.

#55: Oh, yes…that’s why producers themselves are the ones offering her the roles and not some casting couch director. Dream on, hater. You will be seeing more of Angie in the next years because she has talent, beauty and charisma.

Joan Crawford, for all her looks and bad mothering has been given awards and is still respected as an actress to this day. B-list TV ensemble people will go on E!’s Where are they now? segment. She’ll be remembered alongside Florence Henderson and the ladies of the Golden Girls.

I agree with you. That’s where Brangelina fans get so hypocritical, they are allowed to bash Jennifer Aniston, but Jolie is so ‘perfect’, no one can bash her. Don’t get me wrong, I like both but seriously the fans!

Let me ask you a serious question? Don’t the JA fans think that she is ‘perfect’ and Angie is bashed left and right by them? Don’t they come here all the time and bash Angie, calling her every name in the book? Haven’t those same fans created a site that is purely used to hate Brad and Angie (mainly Angie)? More importantly, isn’t that what fans do? Defend the person they like? So, I don’t get where the hypocrisy comes into play. I personally, have never been to a JA thread and don’t intend to go there because I just don’t care about her as a person, and as an actress.

Thanks! Im sure it will come and go very quickly. I’m just so excited for her. I really enjoyed her speech when she got honnored for her work (remember Anthony Hopkins presented an award to her at some kind of female actors awards). She makes the best speeches.

Friday’s boxoffice estimates for TAOJJ were changed from the original $125,000 to $115,000.

And now the actual figures are close to $125,000.

TAOJJ has a positive 2.8% increase for the weekend (actual figures) and not the -8% as suggested in their estimates.
