When it comes to African-American actresses, Thandie Newton is the only other actress that can give Halle Berry a run for her money

Both Halle and Thandie are very beautiful but there are plenty of other beautiful African American actresses- Gabrielle Union and Nia Long come to mind. While again I agree that Halle and Thandie are beautiful it is interesting to note that they are held out as African American “ideals” since both are actually biracial…only point is that they have some more ethnically Caucasian features.

Thandie looks better than Halle jmo. But not digging the bones look.

I thought she was white, and Ms. Berry too, or at least half white. So their not African American.

Gabriell Union is fug to me, but Angela Bassett is beautiful.

Thandie has this grace about her and her beauty…she always looks royal in her posture.

She makes me feel about Sade to some extent…that afro-european air about themsleves made of african pride and european cool sophistication.

Actually, I do not think she is pretty. I am not saying I dont like black girl, but…. I really do not like her face, esp in the movie “Mission Impossible II” in which she played the female lead.

Thandie has an Asian look. That is because in some African tribes, they do have asiatic features. Like the Bushmen and Thandie’s mom is from a Tribe in Zambia which is similar in features.

Pretty. Far from beautiful,jmo. Saw Oprah’s Beloved Movie and that image of Thandie acting as Beloved stays in my head when I see her. Yikes, was not a good thing.

Thandie, like Halle Berry have talked about their difficulties in Hollywood as women of color. Thandie was born in Africa. She has played a Balck woman in many movies: Beloved, Crash, etc. She identifies as Black as does Halle. So how does that make her White?? yes they are both Black and White but clearly identify with being Black in an industry that sees them and as Black women - which is why they don’t work that much despite being incredibly talented. I think Thandie is a goddess. She is perfect looking. End of story.

Comments like this are unheard of in London. Colour is such an issue in that overweight country of yours. But having said that most American’s have never even been out of the country or own a passport!! Most English travel to at least two different countries a year, so we have less rigid ideas about race and culture. The more travelled and more well read you become the less you will care about people’s colour and start caring more about the person within…..Good Luck

Im half white like thandie and its so boring that people go on about it like this. Whats so complicated?? One black parent, one white parent = child with some of both parents features. Big deal.

She is African!!! Her dad is English white and mother Zambian Black.. She took the dominant gene.. That’s all!!

Thandie is gorgeous. And saying she is black doesn’t change the fact that her daddy is white.
